Abstract

ABSTRACT   The  experiment  pot  of  the effect  compost in the critical  land on the  production  onions, peanuts, and soybeans, the goal is to get organic  agricultural  production and determine the optimal dose of compost for plant onions, peanuts and soybeans. Before  the experiment of compost treatment  was  conducted  the  compost and  soil  as  media plant  to analyse  the chemical  properties. After  the experiment of compost treatment  was conducted  the soil as  media  plant  to analyse the chemical properties. The  experiment  design of methode  was  used  complate  randamized design (CRD) with the  five treatment compost and four replication.   Dosage of compost consists of  0 tonnes/ha  (0 g/pot)  as a control,  30 tonnes /ha  (75 g /pot);  60 tonnes/ha (150 g/pot);  90 tonnes/ha (225 g/pot),  and 120 tonnes/ha (300  g/pot). The parameter were observed  wet  weight of  plants,  quantity and weight  beet  the production  plant of onions;  wet weight  of  plants, quantity and weight of  pod pea and  seed  the  production  plant  of  peanuts and  soyabeans.  The  data of  analysis  was  used  the  analysis  of variance (Anova)  and  the  least significant  difference (LSD). The results showed  that  treatment  of compost very significant  effect  on  the growth  and  production of plant onions, peanuts and soybeans. Treatment  compost  90 tonnes/ha (225 g/pot)  provide  growth and  yield  of  plant  onion, peanuts, and soybeans maximum. Keywords: compost, onion, peanut, soybean, critical land

Abstract

ABSTRAC The aim of this research are; to describe community perception and participation; analyze social and economy factors that influence perception and participation of community of the land and forest rehabilitation programme in East Bolaang Mongondow District. This research was conducted using survay analysis approach. Furthermore, analysis of perception and participation using Likert Scale. Survay was conducted to 102 respondents in 3 Sub Districts inculuding 7 villages in East Bolaang Mongondow District. The results of the research shows that perception level of respondents to the forrest and its function are 48% highly perception, medium perception 45.1 %, and 6.9 % low perception. Furthermore, perception level of respondents to the land and rehabilitation programme are 51% highly perception, medium perception 35%, and 10% respondents low perception. Rank Spearman Correlation analysis shows that perception level influenced by the education level.  Analysis results of the participation level shows that 36.27 % highly perception, 34.31 % medium perception, and 29.41 % low perception. Rank Spearman Correlation analysis also shows that participation level influenced by the education level of the respondents. Keywords : perception, participation, land rehabilitation

Abstract

ABSTRACT   The objective of this research was to evaluate the vegetative development in 3 North Sulawesi local rice varieties (Superwin (A), Temo (B) dan Burungan (C)) as a response to the thickness variation of cultivated soil layer combined with irrigation deletion. This research was conducted in the glasshouse using polyvinyl chloride (PVC) column (500 mm height, 125 mm diameter) as pots. The treatments consisted of 3 variations of cultivated soil layer, i.e. 18, 24 and 30 cm and the clay hardpan was placed below each of the cultivated soil layers. The level of irrigated water and the amount of the fertilizer were applied following the method of SRI (System of Rice Intensification). The results showed that reducing the thickness of cultivated soil layer to 18-24 cm saved the water as much as 6.15-8.12 L (29.7-39.2%) per pot compared with 30 cm thickness of soil layer in Burungan. Comparing with the 24 cm soil layer thickness, the treatments of 18 cm thickness saved 6.92 L (23.42%) and 5.77 L (18.32%) water, respectively in Superwin and Temo. Abstract

ABSTRACT Traditional gold mining in Toraut Watershed Bolaang Mongondow District was used Merkuri Amalgamation that produced tailing. Tailing are discharged to river and environment sorounding that can enter Toraut River and flows to the down stream Mongondow river (beach Inobonto). This study aims: 1) To determine Hg concentrations in River Toraut up stream, middle stream and down stream; 2) To determine Hg concentrations in sediment of the River Toraut up stream, middle stream and down stream; 3) To determine Hg concentrations in aquatic plantsof the River Toraut up stream, middle stream and down stream.  Location research in River Toraut up stream, middle stream and down stream. Data collected by observation and laboratory analysis Merkuri concentration in River Toraut, sediment, and aquatic plant. Method data analysis are descriptif, Graphic Method and to compare with standart Goverment PP. No.82/2001 Class II. The analysis showed that the concentration of Merkuri in River Toraut up stream, in the middle stream and down stream is<0.00005 mg/l. The concentration of Merkuri in sediments River Toraut up stream, the middle stream and down stream ranged < 0.05-1.45 mg/kg dry. The concentration of Merkuri in tissue plant aquatic location up stream of the River Toraut, the middle stream and down stream range < 0.001-0.013 mg /kg wet. Keywords : biomonitoring, ecological impacts merkuri, Toraut Watershed

Abstract

abstract This study aims to understand the interaction of varieties and watering the papaya mealybug in Bangkok and local plants. Research using Completaly Randomized design (CRD) with treatments that Papaya of varieties Bangkok, Lokal, and Watering. Parameters measured were population nymph, imago, and the attack rate of the mealybug P. marginatus on the part of the plant consists of a trunk, the upper leaves, leaves the middle, and bottom leaves. The results showed that the population of nymphs on papaya local watering every day at the upper leaves of the plant has the highest population as much as 71.85 individuals per leaf and the lowest found in papaya Bangkok on watering every three days on the underside of leaves of plants of 1.85 individuals per leaf. Imago population at the local papaya with a watering every day at the middle leaf has the highest population of 27.85 individuals per leaf and the lowest found in papaya Bangkok with a watering every three days at the bottom of the leaf has a population of 1.71 individuals per leaf. The percentage of mealybug attacks were highest in local varieties of papaya with every day watering time (90.89%), followed by papaya local time watering every two days (70.35%), papaya Bangkok time watering every day (67.92%), local papaya time watering every three days (57.32%), papaya Bangkok time watering every two days (42.72%), and papaya Bangkok time watering every 3 days (40.04%). Abstract

ABSTRACT Potted trial for understanding Maize (Zea mays, L.) growth responses on the given dosage of 100 kg N/ha of NPK and Urea, 100 kg P/ha of SP-36, and 100 kg K/ha KCl fertilizers growing on Latosol Kalasey was conducted in six replicates until the plants reaching 8 weeks old at the backyard of Soil Department building. Plant height and number of mature leaves increased significantly with age of Maize plants, but the plant responses on given fertilizers did not significantly different.  Fresh weight dan oven-dry weight of Maize stalk did also show similar trend due to given fertilizers; however, application of singular fertilizers, such as: Urea, SP-36 and KCl gave relatively higher results in contrast to the compound NPK fertilizer.  Urea tend to increase succulence of Maize plants. Keywords: maize, growth response, NPK, Urea, SP-36, KCl, fertilizers
