Abstract

ABSTRACTThe experiment was conducted using a survey method at 4 locations/district in the Southeast Minahasa Regency is Belang,Tombatu, North Tombatu, and East Tombatu. Each location/districts determined three paddy fields (repeats) as a place of observation and sampling. The study lasted for 10 months ie from January to October 2015. Sampling is done diagonally to the respective fields. So one rice field consists of 5 sub-plot as a point of sampling Samples are larvae present in the leaf roll. Implementation of the sampling carried out on rice plants vegetative phase once a week for 6 weeks. The results showed that the average population of C. medinalis (per-10 clumps) on paddy rice cultivation in Southeast Minahasa Regency highest found in the location of the North Tombatu 10.99, then Eastern Tombatu 10.44, Belang 10.43 and lows in the Tombatu 0.94. Observations of percentage of pests C. medinalis highest in Southeast Minahasa Regency found in the sample locations in the North Tombatu which reached 33.95%, Belang 32.51%, Eastern Tombatu 31.86%, and the lowest in the Tombatu 4.08%. Keywords : rice, Cnaphalocrosis medinalis

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This study aimed to compare the application of environment-friendly cultivation technology on the quality of strawberries. The experimental design using a factorial in a randomized block design (RAK), with 2 factors, namely: 1). Farmers treatment technology that chicken manure 20 t / ha + Urine Rabbits 1: 5 liters of water; 2). Treatment T. koningii 15 g / kg of soil in chicken manure 5 tons / ha). Data were analyzed by t test statistics, if different continued with test Duncun at 0.05. Research results show that treatment of PP (T. koningii Technology) has Vitamin C is 27.1 mg / 100g, higher than the Treatment PT (Technology Farmers) is 22.5 mg / 100g. The vitamin C content of the variables were not significantly different between treatments, while the variable texture of the fruit, and sugar content were significantly different. Keywords: applications agriculture environmentally-friendly, strawberry fruit quality

Abstract

ABSTRACT   A plant species can release a toxic compound which can inhibit the growthof other plant species.  The success of planting certain tree species, both inside and outside the forest area with agroforestry system can be affected by allelopathy of other plant species. The objective of this research was to study the response of sengon laut (Paraserianthes falcataria (L.) Nielsen) seed germination on cogongrass (Imperata cylindrica L.) leaves and rhizomes allelopathy. The experimental design was a randomized complete design with four replicates.  The treatments were leaves and rhizomes extracts of cogongrass, and water as control.  The results showed that the extract concentration of 20 % (weight/volume), then the sengon laut seed germination was not affected by the extracts. Keywords:  sengon laut, cogongrass, allelopathy, seed germination

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article is to present the adaptation capacity of Dalugha (giant taro, Cyrtosperma merkusii) indicated by chlorophyll contents at a number of places in Laine Village, Sangihe Island.  The study is related to the development of Dalugha as an alternative food plant and its adaptation to the inundated brackish water as a result of raising sea water surface on climate change.  The aim of the study is to analyze the differences in chlorophyll contents of inundated and non inundated brackish water conditions in a tree shaded and non shaded conditions.  The method is observational where plant responses are observed at the variation created by natural caused.  The result showed cthat Dalugha chlorophyll content was influenced by tree shading but it is not influenced by inundation of brackish water. Keywords: dalugha, chlorophyll, tidal swamp forest

Abstract

ABSTRACT   This study aims to assess the dose straw compost and liquid organic fertilizer spraying frequency Gliricidia leaves right on the growth and production of corn (Zea mays saccharata L.,) as well as the interaction between them. The treatment is carried out is designed in a factorial experiment in a randomized block design (RDB), which factor straw compost consists of 3 dose levels:         10 ton ha-1, 15 ton ha-1 and 20 ton ha-1, while the frequency factor spraying liquid organic fertilizer gliricidia leaves consists of 3 levels frequency: 5 days, 10 days and 15 days using three replications. The results showed that the frequency of spraying a liquid organic fertilizer Gliricidia leaves single influence on the diameter of the stem of the plant. Interaction straw compost and liquid organic fertilizer spraying frequency Gliricidia leaves no real effect on the growth and production of corn. Dose straw compost 10 tons ha-1 and the frequency of spraying liquid organic fertilizer Gliricidia leaves 15 days to produce the best production is 8.21 tons ha-1. Keywords: straw compost, gliricidia leaves liquid organic fertilizer, corn

Abstract

ABSTRACT Tondano Lake,  one of vital natural  resources at Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi, has some functions and some problems, i.e.: sedimentation and lake shallowing. This research was conducted by using water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes (Malt)) as compost/organic fertilizer and sediment of Tondano Lake as plant media for Packoy growth. This research has aimed to: 1) Test the composition of Tondano Lake sediment, 2) Test the composition of water hyacinth compost, and 3) Measure the growth of Pakcoy toward the given compost as a preliminary research (Pot Experiment). This was conducted: a) sediment sampling at the west part of Tondano Lake, b) sediment and compost analyses at Chemical and Soil Fertility Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Unsrat, c) planting Pakcoy in small pots with Group-Randomized Design for nine months in 2016. Results showed that, 1) sediment composition of Tondano Lake as the plant media has tested, 2) compost composition of water hyacinth has tested, and 3) Pakcoy growth toward the given compost as a preliminary research (Pot Experiment) has measured by height of plant, number of leaves, and freshedweight of crops, andso would applicable in further research due to the result of analyses was significantly different. Keywords: sediment, Tondano Lake, compost, water hyacinth, pakcoy
