Abstract

The number of sexual violence cases against women in Indonesia almost reached 9,000 cases from January to November 2021. This number is increasing every year as protection against victims, whom predominantly are women, remains weak. All this time, social stigma has labeled women as victims since they are weak and easily oppressed. However, the reality of sexual violence does not only affect women but also men, who have long been regarded as the ruling group. In the Penyalin Cahaya movie, the issue of sexual violence is packed with different perspectives. The image of women as victims, who have been portrayed as a second class, weak, and confined group, is not seen in this film. Conversely, men as victims choose to shut up and surrender. This research aims to reveal the representation of sexual violence victims experienced by men and women using the framework of the Feminist Stylistics Approach/FSA developed by Sara Mills. The research body consists of scenes depicting (1) forms of sexual violence, (2) the social narrative of the victims and power relations in handling cases of sexual violence in academic environments, and (3) the representation of victims who choose to remain silent to stay accepted by the society. The documentation techniques were used to look more deeply into the positions and actions taken by the victims to fight the stigma caused by sexual violence. The research results show (1) the negation against male victims of sexual violence, (2) that women’s appearance still becomes the main reason for her to be harassed and (3) academic institutions are weak in dealing with sexual violence cases.

Abstract

This article tries to explain the use of information technology for the NTB Care application as a digital media for responding to public complaints. Three dimensions are measured to determine the effective implementation of NTB Care in resolving public complaint services: the Ease of Use dimension, the Trust dimension and the Reliability dimension. The research uses a comparative descriptive method with a qualitative approach and literature analysis by collecting data from official NTB government documents, the NTB Care data center, the NTB Care Website, the NTB care Facebook, and other literature related to NTB Care. The results showed that the use of the NTB Care application as a medium for responding to public complaints was good and received excellent public trust, but the obstacles faced were in the agency that became the goal of the problems raised by the community, the average response time for OPD in handling complaints that come in 1-120 days. There is no clarity regarding reports that have not been followed up on to be resolved. NTB Care is an application as a forum to accommodate the community's aspirations; then, the NTB Care admin will forward public complaints to the relevant agency or OPD based on the complaint problem who entered NTB Care.

Abstract

The recidivism problem in Indonesia today can be associated with the existence of a work phenomenon that describes discrepancy. The discrepancy in question means the existence of a high difference or gap itself between the real form and the ideal or the expectation with the reality. One of them can occur in BAPAS which carries out the function of assisting, mentoring, and supervising Clients due post-imprisonment. Research method used is descriptive qualitative research and the data collection technique is literature study and observation in the form of interviews. The results of the research show that the facts on the ground are full of problems that seem to be without improvement. Facts found that the current training for PK tends to be only administrative, even though when carrying out their duties, soft skills are needed; besides that, BAPAS still tends to do repetition from existing programs, even though there should be a redesign program that is more adaptive and could build Client enthusiasm; and any other facts. So, this research will reveal deeper facts regarding the duties and functions of PK in BAPAS and to be aligned with the probation theory.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Electronic Identity Card (KTP-El) service policy in Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research is exploratory research with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Informants were determined by purposive sampling and snowball techniques. The data analysis technique used the Spradley analysis model with four analysis stages: domain, taxonomic, componential, and cultural themes. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the E-KTP service has not been optimal even though various efforts have been made, it can be seen from the unachieved target for the electronic E-KTP, which is caused by several factors, such as the lack of adequate socialization about the importance of the E-KTP, data recording tools, damaged networks, inadequate staff resources, and low public awareness of the importance of the E-KTP. Efforts that should be made are to conduct education and socialization in more detail and intensive on the significance of E-KTP to the public, repair damaged data recording devices and networks, conduct regular training for unskilled employees in providing E-KTP, clarify SOP regarding the time it takes to record an Electronic Identity Card.

Abstract

The issue of the environmental crisis is increasingly getting the attention of the world community. in addition to the government, the community may also contribute to protecting the environment and saving the earth. moreover, this study used a qualitative approach. a literature study is the data collection technique that was employed. the results of research activities conducted by wwf indonesia obtained outcomes that aligned with the main activities achieved based on the planning that was implemented, regulations formed from activities, and interventions involving stakeholders. thus, the government and wwf indonesia have an impact on each other when it comes to the issue orientation aspect of implementing green politics. furthermore, initiatives from wwf indonesia have the potential to shed light on forest sustainability on the island of kalimantan. however, the environmental movement encompasses more than merely the aspect of realizing policy. every environmentally committed institution also serves the wider community by providing education pertaining to the environment. according to the program table, the program’s implementation for the working period has ended, so it is currently required to clarify the follow-up on which program will be implemented next. this condition also indicates that there was no turning point for the relevant sector government when the responsibility devolved to WWF indonesia, and ultimately, this program was discontinued.

Abstract

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and being promoted only by minor political parties, it didn’t impede the mayoral pairing candidate Eri Cahyadi-Armuji from winning the 2020 Surabaya mayoral election. Hence, the purpose of this study is to explain the political campaign strategy carried out by Eri Cahyadi-Armuji using the perspective of the five functional stages of development theory. This study applied a qualitative method with a case study approach. The findings of this study showed that Eri Cahyadi-Armuji successfully implemented the five stages of political campaign, thus he could win the election. However, there was an interesting note at the identification stage where Eri Cahyadi-Armuji preferred to use the identity of a figure rather than slogans. This fact deviated from the theory, yet it was successfully implemented as a surefire strategy to attract voters. Thus, this notable finding may give a contribution in developing the theory of political campaign strategy.

Abstract

Women are included in the list of vulnerable victims of disaster due to their lack of skills and lower physical strength than men. The role of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as a communicator or messenger is required in the efforts to increase disaster awareness and information among women's community. This urgency is supported by the condition of the area which has a high risk of disaster as well as the fact that the total female population outnumbers the males. This research aims to find out how the BPBD of Bantul Regency uses social media to promote disaster awareness and information to the women's community. In the digital era, social media is considered capable of channeling messages more widely to reach underserved communities. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research results show that the BPBD of Bantul Regency have made some efforts to increase disaster awareness and information among women's community by involving direct participation. In carrying out the role, the communicator has a structured information delivery and processing chain by involving Pusdalops (the Operational Control Center) and teams from each field. This results in messages wrapped in the form of social media content, even though the disaster narrative does not yet represent efforts to increase disaster awareness and information for women's community. The target of this social media communication is the general public, both men and women. The existence of a structured information delivery and processing chain as well as mastered materials can make the messages reach the women's community. The researchers propose an alternative model for disaster communication through social media as an effort to increase disaster awareness and information among women's community without changing existing disaster information communication patterns. The researchers propose this model to fill the gap in the role of teams in each field who should have knowledge capacity related to the disaster awareness and information among women's community

Abstract

Banyulegi Village is an area that has the potential for flood disaster as it is a downstream area of the Kali Lamong River Basin. Consequently, this flood disaster instigates problems, both material and non-material damage and loss. Thus, it needs the role of the Regional Disaster Management Agency or BPBD of Mojokerto Regency in disaster mitigation efforts to reduce the risk and impact of flood disasters. This study applied a qualitative method with descriptive approach by using primary and secondary data obtained from observation, interviews, and documentation. The focus of this study is the role of the BPBD in disaster mitigation efforts based on the provisions of Mojokerto Regency Regent Regulation Number 102 of 2021 concerning Position, Organizational Structure, Main Duties and Functions and Work Procedures of the Regional Disaster Management Agency of Mojokerto Regency in the Prevention and Preparedness Sector Article (15) paragraph (1). The results of this study explain that the BPBD of Mojokerto Regency has carried out its role in mitigation efforts according to its duties and functions, including: 1) The role of BPBD in mitigation efforts through facilitation and outreach; 2) The role of BPBD in implementing cooperation with related agencies or institutions; 3) The role of BPBD in mitigation efforts through education and training; 4) The role of BPBD in mitigation efforts through simulation. There are several efforts to reduce flood disasters, through structural and non-structural mitigation. The inhibiting factor in this study was the activity of the village community, but this obstacle could be minimized through a joint decision between the BPBD of Mojokerto Regency and the village community. The supporting factor was the involvement of all elements of the Banyulegi Village community to participate in the activities as well as the related agencies or institutions that play a role in reducing disaster risk in Banyulegi Village.

Abstract

Stock trading is complicated and risky. Investors' conditions, aspirations, and viewpoints shape their journeys. This article examines stock trading and investing, focusing on Joel Greenblatt's "The Little Book That Beats the Market" and "Magic Formula" investment technique. Greenblatt's book argues that stock trading is better than saving. The "Magic Formula" focuses on return on capital and earnings yield and is simple but effective. The Magic Formula helps investors find cheap, high-quality firms by evaluating them by these two ratios. The Magic Formula, like every investment approach, has limitations. Its success depends on the investor's goals, risk tolerance, and situation. The Magic Formula works for some investors but not others. This emphasizes the need of personalizing one's financial approach and knowing that one size does not fit all. Greenblatt also stresses the significance of knowing and believing in the Magic Formula, even when it seems to be failing. He believes that effective investing requires both picking the correct companies and sticking to your strategy, even when it's hard. This emphasizes the significance of patience and discipline in investing, which are often neglected but essential for long-term success. The Magic Formula is one of several investment techniques and theories, each with its own assumptions, methods, and risk profiles. From buy-and-hold to complicated quantitative models, these methods cover it all. Investors' goals, risk tolerance, and circumstances should determine their strategy.  In conclusion, stock trading demands cautious navigation and intelligent decision-making. Joel Greenblatt's Magic Formula helps guide investors. Its effectiveness depends on the investor and is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Thus, each individual must establish their own stock trading success route with the correct knowledge, method, and mindset.

Abstract

The Village Head Election (Pilkades) is a forum for the community to use their voting rights to elect leaders at the village level. It utilizes technology as a tool to accelerate and influence the technicalities of village head elections from conventional to digital through electronic voting (e-voting). This research aims to analyze the accessibility of elderly voters in the Village Head Election in Sleman Regency, Special Region Province of Yogyakarta (DIY). This research was examined using Thomas and Penchansky's theory which consists of indicators of availability, accessibility and accommodation. This research was a qualitative type of research with data collection techniques using primary data, obtained from interviews, and secondary data, obtained from journal articles and other literature studies in the form of research-related documents. The results of this research show that the Sleman Regency’s Community Empowerment Service and the Village Government were the parties that provide facilities and infrastructure to the community in the village head election in Sleman Regency. In accommodating this, initially, the political dynamics in Sleman Regency were more apathetic and traditional for the elderly people due to the change of the era. However, after researching, the problems that arose during the election were more related to the technical aspects of e-voting rather than the community or elderly people. Several obstacles occurred during e-voting, making the voters annoyed. Then, the elderly voters were given the same services as the other voters, except for the elderly with limitations. In this case, indicators such as availability, accessibility, and accommodation are considered appropriate and sufficient for the needs of elderly people. Regarding these needs, the TTU (the main technical team) and TTL (the field technical team) try their best to fulfill whatever it is without discrimination.
