Abstract

Sub-regionalism or communalism, as we all know is a sentiment of similarity, amongst the people belonging to the same group. It means a sense of common consciousness or peoples under the same political organization. We know that there are different responsible causes for the resurgence amongst the tribal groups of North-East India and they have different natures, for example; aspiration for separate identity, aspiration for establishing an autonomous council, development council, creation of a new state and many more. Assam is a  part  of  the North-Eastern  region  of   India, a  district inhabited by  aboriginal  tribal  communities   in  this  state,  viz;  the  Bodos ,  Karbis,  Dimasas,  Mishings,  Deoris,  Rabhas,  Sonowal  Kacharis etc.  They  are distinguished  from  each-other  societies  by  certain  modes , behavior, character  such  as  dress code,  food habits ,socio-cultural  rituals  and  religious  belief. The Deoris  are  one  of  the  major  ethnic  plain  tribe  of  Assam. They  have  their  own  language  to  converse  amongst  themselves,  own religious  beliefs,  living  styles etc. Their present population is approximately two Lakhs According to census report of Deori autonomous council (DAC) . The Deories are settled mostly in the Districts of Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sibsagar, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Sonitpur and Tinsukia of Assam and some villages are also situated in the Districts of Changlang, Lohit and Tirap of Arunachal Pradesh. The Deori Autonomous Council (DAC), a political organization of Deoris, established in 2005, to fulfill their socio-economic development. The aspiration of the Deori people for a separate identity is not a new concept. It has some longest historic stages.   It was seen that the struggle for a separate identity was began during the time of eighty decade, under the banner of the   All Assam Deori Student Union (AADSU), which formed in 1959. In this present article, we attempt to focus the aspiration of the Deori peoples and their struggle for a separate identity.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship of consumer behavior in s-commerce by proposing a research model that incorporates various factors. To conclude, perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment have a positive relationship on attitude. The proposed model that examines the mediating effects of attitude on variables. It is reported that perceived usefulness could be mediated by the effect of attitude, however perceived enjoy fullness doesn’t not. As with any study of this nature, a number of limitations have to be pointed out. The first limitation is the issue of generalization. Small sample size collected in this study lead to the poor-fit structural model. Thus, the findings must be interpreted with caution and cannot be conclusively used to generalize to all the consumer behavior towards s-commerce. The second limitation relates to the cross-sectional nature of the current study. Future research to investigate consumer behavior towards s-commerce by utilizing longitudinal methodology, can be adopted. Also variables such as trust could be added to capture more efficient results.

Abstract

Human resources are considered as most valuable strategic assets to the organization. The success of any organization depends on efficient use of human resources in the organization. This paper aims to analyze the various Human resource development (HRD) practices in co-operative sugar industry in north coastal Andrapradesh. The study measured an evaluation of HRD practices in the sugar industry. A sample of 100 employees from five co-operative sugar mills responded to a questionnaire which measured the evaluation of HRD practices and improve the values. HRD practices like training and development, performance appraisal system, quality of work life and development were positively related to organizational values of humane treatment. However, performance appraisal system, career planning, and contextual analysis variables were negatively associated with values such as trust and creativity. The analysis was limited to existing HRD practices. Further studies are needed on a larger sample to examine why some HRD practices and contextual analysis contributed negatively to organizational values. The result of the study can be useful in designing effective employee development programs that promote cherished organizational values. Little empirical knowledge exists on HRD practices and organizational values linkages in the context of co-operative sugar industry in Andrapradesh. The paper makes a modest attempt to fill the gap.
