Abstract

Archaeologists' foresight in handling the results of their research will determine the impact that will be felt by the wider community. This is what some of our archaeologists have not thought about. Most archaeological research results end in Archaeological Research Reports or Archaeological Research News which are only limited to reading by archaeological observers, including students majoring in Archeology or history who need for academic purposes. By trying to establish partnerships and cooperation with various sectors and interests, hopefully the reach, thoughts and considerations in determining the archaeological research model will be more extensive and more grounded.

Abstract

In the ancient history period of Indonesia, the inscription is one of the results of human culture in the classical period which is moveable in addition to the unmoveable remains in the form of temples and water temple buildings. The existence of inscriptions in macro cannot be separated from the forms of other cultures, such as the form of values, forms of behavior systems and forms of material culture.

Abstract

A number of military archaeological remains, which are found in various places in Indonesia, both in the form of monumental remains such as various local and colonial forts as well as non-monumental remains such as weapons, reflect the existence of the political, social and economic constellation that underlie the founding of these remains. Chronologically, although not necessarily in a linear order, military archaeological remains in the form of colonial fortresses originated from efforts to secure economic activities by placing beachheads in strategic places before evolving naturally into hardware to demonstrate their colonial political role. Meanwhile (or vice versa), the establishment of local or non-colonial fortresses was more of a response to counterbalance the development and spread of colonial strongholds in the past which were considered to threaten the power of local kings.

Abstract

From a geographic point of view, the Archipelago lies at a strategic crossroads between continents and oceans. Under these conditions, the development of culture in these islands has always been influenced by the major cultures around it, namely India and China. One problem of cultural history that is still a mystery is the process of the entry of Indian Culture in Central Java, namely the entrance and route of Indianization to the interior of southern Central Java. One of the areas on the north coast of Central Java which is quite strategic from a geographical point of view is Batang Regency. Based on its potential, it can be estimated that Batang Regency has a strategic role in the process of entering and developing the influence of Indian Culture on the Island of Java.

Abstract

In modern archaeological theory, various views have emerged as to how archaeologists do not only know the past, but it is time to present the past in the present along with various meanings so that it is also useful for the present. For this reason, various frameworks and theories regarding Public Archeology, CRM frameworks, "Post Processual" views, legislation, and even special analyzes, such as conflict management can be used as tools and ways to answer various problems.

Abstract

The recent development of the Geographical Information System (GIS) has had an impact on archaeological interests, both at the level of estimation and site exploration, presentation of site distribution, various types of spatial analysis and modeling, to the level of archaeological resource management especially for decision making. On the side of archaeological studies, the demands and tough task ahead, is how this discipline is able to access, process and structurize, present, and update all geo-cultural information in the dimensions of form, time and space which are increasingly unlimited in complexity. All forms of geo-cultural information and their dynamics, which are the substance of a landscape condition, require archaeology to "take action" in various scales of multidisciplinary studies. The existence of a comprehensive and structured landscape database, as well as the ability to analyze and evaluate the forms of interrelation between geosphere phenomena, are the basic assets for the success of such studies.
