Abstract

Kinerja agribisnis yang baik dipengaruhi oleh pembangunan subsektor agribisnis hulu, subsektor pertanian primer, subsektor agribisnis hilir dan subsektor jasa penunjang secara simultan dan harmonis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan strategi penguatan kinerja agribisnis cabai merah di kabupaten Temanggung. Pemilihan daerah dilakukan secara purposive di kecamatan Bulu dan Tlogomulyo, kabupaten Temanggung. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2010 dengan menggunakan pendekatan focused grup discussion (FGD) dan wawancara yang melibatkan 15 orang keypersons. Penelitian ini menggunakan Teknik analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan analytic hierarchy Process (AHP). Hasil analisis AHP menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga prioritas utama yang perlu dilaksanakan dalam strategi penguatan kinerja agribisnis cabai merah di Kabupaten Temanggung adalah penyediaan dan akses modal yang diperuntukkan bagi usahatani cabai merah, pendampingan penerapan teknologi budidaya yang tepat kepada petani, dan pemerintah menyediakan sarana pasar agro yang bisa menampung hasil budidaya hortikultura di kabupaten Temanggung

Abstract

This research aims to construct a simulation model of development, growth and waterbalance of potato crop. Reasearchalso predicts climate change impact on potato productivity in several potato production center in Indonesia. The cropmodel being constructed explains process mechanism of development and growth during crop life cycle as a responseto fluctuation of climatic. Three field experiments were conducted at three locations at Pacet and Galudra in West JavaProvince, and at Kerinci in Jambi Province, to support the model development; for model calibration (Pacet) and modelvalidation (Galudra and Kerinci). Paired t-test between model predictions of Granola variety with observations showedthat there were not significant differences (P> 0,05) on all variables tested, except leaf biomass. In Atlantic variety, therewere not significant differences (P> 0,05) on root, tuber biomass and soil water content. Based on graphical test showedcoefficient of determination were (R2) greater than 0,80 for all variables.Generally, results on validation suggested thatmodel predictions were not significantly different with field measurements at Galudra (Granola variety) and Kerinci(Atlantis and Granola variety) for variable of plant ages, biomass of root, stem, leaf and tuber, leaf area index, and soilwater content.

Abstract

Waste coffee planthas the potential to be used as abooster feed for livestock. Coffee fruit waste composition physicallyquite largeat around 48% on coffee pulp. Research was conducted to examine the effect on the growth of Etawah CrossbredGoat (PE) after the treatment of fermented coffee waste as the substitution for leguminous (gamal and kaliandra). Twelve5-6 months old male PE goats were involved with 20 kg early weight average. Three groups of feeding treatment wereconsidered: Treatment P1 = 100% leguminous (gamal and kaliandra in ratio 1:1); Treatment P2 = 70% leguminous(gamal and kaliandra in ratio 1:1) + 30% fermented coffee Pulp; Treatment P3 = 40% leguminous (gamal and kaliandrain ratio 1:1) + 60% fermented coffee Pulp. Result of research indicated that the average increase of daily body weightof PE goat in the Treatment P1 (88.93 grams/goat/day) and P2 (100.00 grams/goat/day) was not obviously different (P> 0.05), but both were obviously different (P < 0.05) from P3 (71.79 grams/goat/day). Treatment P3 showed the lowestlevel of the consumption of DM, OM and the lowest level of gross energy, and had obvious difference (P < 0.05) fromP1 and P2. Meanwhile, P1 and P2 were not obviously different (P > 0.05). From these results, it was concluded that thetreatment of fermented coffee Pulp by 30 % and of leguminous (gamal and kaliandra) by 70 % (at P2) were giving thebest growth for PE goat. Indeed, P2 also displayed the most efficient food conversion.

Abstract

Improvement of the national rice production could be done by using superior variety (VUB), which has early age ofmaturity and high productivity. However, the farmers, until now, still fanatics to grow the local rice. The utilization oflocal varieties as genetic resources for producing new superior varieties is expected to be solution. The study used sevenlocal rice varieties (Anak Daro, Si Buyung, Cicih Merah, Mentik Wangi, Bengawan Solo, Rojolele, and Mandoti), to testthe aroma and taste. Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA) using trained panelists was applied. Data obtained wereanalyzed by Multivariate Analysis of Principle Component Analysis technique. Results showed that Mandoti and Rojolelehave similar aroma and characterized by pandan, cereals, buttery, and green aroma. Cicih Merah characterized by creamyand sweet aroma. Mentik Wangi, Bengawan solo, and Anak Daro have similar properties but are not characterized by adistinctive aroma. Flavors of Cicih Merah and Bengawan solo are in one group and characterized by a taste of sweet andumami. Mandoti are in different groups and characterized by a taste of salty and bitter. Mentik Wangi and Si Buyung,Anak Daro and Rojolele even be in one group but not characterized by a distinctive flavor attributes.

Abstract

Different types of rice pests, have been reported. The explosions and a potential pests are Rice Stem Borer (Tryporizasp.), Brown Planthoppers (Nilaparvata lugens), Green Leafhoppers (Nephotettix virescens), and Rats (Rattus sp.), wichan obstacle in creating stability of rice production in Bone. In rice ecosystem, natural enemies of arthropod predatorsare most instrumental in suppressing the pest population. Fluctuation in population density of natural enemies, affectingpests presence. Efforts to suppress pest proportions through IPM, is a strategy of lowering the level of pests and damageto rice crops. This study aims to identify and measure the relationship strength between pests and natural enemiespopulations in some rice varieties after IPM, using correlation and regression analysis. Observations conducted in Bone,from May to August 2012, with 2 observed variables, pests and natural enemies populations in Inpari 6, Inpari 10, Inpari16, Ciherang, Cigelis, and Mekongga. Data analysis were performed using correlation and regression analysis. Theresults showed a high degree of correlation between pest and natural enemies (predators) populalions, characterized bya positive correlation coefficient (0.957) and significant at the level of 0.01, where each increase in the intensity of pestpopulations, will be followed by increase in the number of natural enemies captured.

Abstract

Some statistical analyses were employed to depict responses of genotype (G) on environment (E). Regression analysisreflects the average index of G x E to calculate the genotype responses to heterogenous environment. Regression deviationwas employed to count the stability of the result obtained through such a method, which, further be developed to testthe average effect of G x E through a combination of additive effects of multivariate analysis with multiplication effecton the primary component (AMMI model). Regression analysis showed that Ciherang, Hibrindo R1, IH806 hybrid wasmore superior than others in terms of stability andproduct adaptability, whereas IH805, IH808, and IH809, are specificfor locations Batang, Jember, Ngawi, and Madiun, respectively.

Abstract

Regresi Logistik (Logit) merupakan suatu metode analisis statistika yang mendeskripsikan hubungan antara peubah respon (dependent variable) yang bersifat kualitatif memiliki dua kategori atau lebih dengan satu atau lebih peubah penjelas (independent variable) berskala kategori atau interval. Tulisan ini bertujuan mengelaborasi penerapan Model Regresi Logistik dalam menganalisis adopsi teknologi pertanian, kasus adopsi VUB padi. Sumber data memanfaatkan hasil survey kepada 155 orang petani responden di lahan rawa lebak di Kabupaten HSU Kalimantan Selatan, tahun 2009. Model dirancang dengan memasukkan unsur adopsi sebagai peubah respon, dihubungkan dengan 13 unsur peubah penjelas. Dari aplikasi model dengan metoda penduga maximum likelihood menggunakan Minitab Versi 16, diperoleh gambaran: (1) Penerapan Regresi Logistik dengan nilai duga maksimum likelihood menggunakan Minitab dapat direkomendasikan untuk menganalisis adopsi teknologi pertanian pada kasus adopsi teknologi VUB padi. Hal itu didukung fakta hasil analisis yang ditunjukkan oleh signifikansi model yang tinggi, hasil uji parsial yang efektif, penafsiran hasil melalui Odd ratio, dan tampilan ukuran asosiasi antara peubah respon dengan peubah penjelas menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat dan sekaligus menunjukkan semakin baiknya daya prediksi model sebagaimana ditunjukkan oleh besarnya nilai Concordant serta kecilnya nilai Discordant dan Ties; (2) Faktor kunci untuk mendapatkan hasil duga Regresi Logistik yang baik, adalah besaran jumlah responden yang representatif dengan keragaman relatif tinggi. Oleh karena itu validasi data menjadi faktor penentu dan krusial dilakukan sebelum analisis data.
