Abstract

Indonesia's electrical power supply is insufficient to meet the population's demands. Therefore, the rise of Renewable Energy (RE) is anticipated to fulfill the needs. One of Indonesia's renewable energy industries implementing project management in its operations encountered delays in its engineering procurement construction project due to material delay, and the project's quality failed to meet requirements due to an incompetent vendor. Furthermore, the existing key performance indicators were insufficiently comprehensive, lacked criteria related to business permits, and had unclear Critical Success Factors (CSF). The primary goal was to develop narrowly focused criteria to evaluate vendor construction performance through Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM). The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is one of the techniques utilized in MCDM to determine the ranking of alternatives based on selection criteria that have hierarchical interdependence relationships. This study produced six main criteria based on literature studies, including management capability, financial capability, quality, delivery time, customer services, and safety. The most important sub-criteria from the results of this study are speed and accuracy of delivery time with a weight of 23,90%, where the factor of completing the project activity on time is a key factor for project success. For further handling, this criterion is considered as CSF for vendor selection at EPC projects, especially in the RE industry. Keywords: Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), Key Performance Indicator (KPI), Project Management, Procurement Management, Vendor

Abstract

Barbercome is a startup in the hair care industry, founded in 2023. Barbercome is a mobile application that accommodates barbershops and barbers, allowing users to order home-based haircut services and make barbershop queue reservations. This application is a solution for customers who are often busy with their daily activities, have a busy work schedule, and lack free time to go to the barbershop. Many customers postpone or skip hair treatments due to inconveniences such as cuts that are not as expected, prices that are not commensurate with the quality of service, long waiting times even though they have made an appointment in advance, rushed or unfriendly service, unclean or too crowded barbershop conditions, and barber skills in handling certain types of hair are lacking. As a new business, Barbecome needs to conduct a feasibility analysis to determine whether it is feasible to run or not. The location of this business is in Bandung City. Based on the financial feasibility calculation results, the NPV value was obtained for IDR 75,547,341, PBP of 2.7, and IRR of 28.96%. Based on the feasibility and sensitivity calculations results, it can be concluded that the Barbercome startup business design is feasible to run.  Keywords: Barbercome, Feasibility Analysis, NPV, PBP, IRR

Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of production tardiness on five parallel production floors at PT Garmen X, each with an identical machine arrangement. The proposed method combines Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Tabu Search (TS) algorithms for flow shop scheduling problems.  ACO acts as the primary method for finding the optimal solution. At the same time, the Tabu Search algorithm is applied as a local search to improve the quality of the solution found by ACO. The results show significant performance improvement, with a decrease in total tardiness by 88.09% and a reduction in total makespan by 5.08% compared to the existing method. Keywords: Garment, Flow shop, Ant Colony Optimization, Tabu Search, Total Tardiness

Abstract

The rapid pace of urbanization has heightened the demand for housing, making the housing industry increasingly significant. PT Fajar Ratna Kumala, a real estate company, plans to revive the XYZ Housing Project in Baleendah District in 2024, initially designed in 2014 but delayed due to internal issues. With a growing population, the company aims to develop the project on a 12-hectare rice field they acquired, necessitating a comprehensive feasibility evaluation to ensure market alignment and regulatory compliance. The feasibility analysis encompasses five main aspects: market, legal, environmental, technical, and financial, including sensitivity levels. The process involves data collection through primary (observations and interviews) and secondary (statistical data, literature, and historical data) methods, followed by data processing for all aspects. Market analysis forecasts an increasing housing demand from 2024 to 2028, guiding the planning of housing types and land use. Legal focuses on obtaining necessary permits and proofs to avoid legal complications. The environmental aspect estimates costs for environmental impact assessments (AMDAL) and evaluates potential environmental impacts. Technical planning includes 14 technical designs, while financial evaluation, using net present value (NPV), payback period (PBP), and internal rate of return (IRR), reveals an NPV of IDR 36,808,001,153.00, a PBP of 2.08 years, and an IRR of 64.17%, confirming the project's financial viability. Sensitivity analysis indicates the project is sensitive to cost and price fluctuations but remains within acceptable limits. This study provides PT Fajar Ratna Kumala with critical insights for project development and offers a valuable evaluation framework for future business feasibility assessments. Keywords: Feasibility, NPV, PBP, IRR, Sensitivity

Abstract

PT Petrokimia Gresik is the most comprehensive fertilizer manufacturer in Indonesia, and it produces a wide range of fertilizers and chemicals for agro-industry solutions. One of its products, NPK Phonska fertilizer, is always the product with the highest demand every year. In 2023, the demand for this fertilizer reached 1,972,380.55 tons. The main problem that often occurs is the overstocking and stocking out of raw materials. This condition not only results in increased storage costs but also threatens production continuity. Therefore, optimal inventory control is the company's main goal, which is to ensure the availability of raw materials in a timely manner and minimize costs. This study aims to find the most effective inventory control method in overcoming these problems. The EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) and POQ (Periodic Order Quantity) methods were chosen as alternative solutions. This research uses quantitative methods with data collection through field observations. The results showed that the most right inventory control method to reduce total inventory costs is the EOQ method, with a total cost of Rp7,043,999,215. This figure is lower than the POQ method of Rp11,071,943,308 and the Min-Max method used by the company of Rp23,217,085,977. The EOQ method is proven to be more efficient in managing inventory, resulting in cost savings of up to 69.7% or Rp16,173,086,762. Therefore, the application of the EOQ method is a good choice to be implemented in the company. Keywords: Raw Material Inventory, Inventory Control Methods, Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Periodic Order Quantity (POQ), Minimum-Maximum (Min-Max)
