Abstract

ABSTRACT The fish assemblage data were collected during August to October 2013 at Cibareno River, which is located in the area of Lebak and Sukabumi. The fish assemblage were analyzed using index of biotic integrity (IBI). The data result were obtained about species richness, IBI metric modification, and IBI cross test with Pesanggrahan River. The fish assemblage that was obtained as many as 22 species from 11 family. IBI metric modification that was defined by Pearson correlation test showed that there was correlation between metrics: herbivor, carnivore, omnivor, benthic species, water column species, long-lived species, tolerant species, intolerant species, native species, non-native species, abundance, and fish condition (disease, fin damage, skeletal anomalies). The IBI total score for cross test with Pesanggrahan River is 46. The total score indicates that Cibareno River is include in the category of a good river. Those condition means that Cibareno River can be worthy as a reference site for IBI. Keywords: IBI, fish richness, reference site, Cibareno River.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe genus Ebolavirus from the family Filoviridae is composed of five species including Sudan Ebolavirus, Reston Ebolavirus, Bundibugyo Ebolavirus, Taï Forest Ebolavirus, and Zaire Ebolavirus The transmission of these viruses to human body is via direct contact with blood, secret,organ, or other body fluid of the infected person. Abstract

Bakteri endofit dapat mengasilkan IAA yang dapat memacu pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman. Peran lain bakteri endofit adalah sebagai agen biokontrol patogen yang menyebabkan penyakit pada tanaman. Bakteri endofit menghasilkan senyawa metabolit yang beracun bagi patogen. Tanaman yang dapat menghasilkan bakteri endofit penghasil IAA, yaitu akar padi gogo, akar terung, akar padi yang berasal dari Medan dan Bijai, akar tebu, kacang tanah, ranting belimbing, akar mangga, ranting rambutan, taoge, kelapa sawit (akar, batang, pelepah dan daun), akar ubi jalar, sambiloto (jaringan batang dan jaringan daun), dan jaringan daun tanaman Graminae. Pengaruh bakteri endofit penghasil IAA pada tanaman, yaitu memacu pertumbuhan akar dan tajuk tanaman padi; meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, panjang akar, bobot segar tanaman, volume akar, serta bobot segar dan kering akar terung; memberikan efek yang signifikan pada tinggi tanaman, panjang akar, dan berat basah pada tanaman padi; memberikan efek pada perpanjangan akar lateral kacang hijau; meningkatkan tinggi, jumlah cabang primer, produksi herba basah dan kering, serta produksi andrografolid sambiloto. Bakteri endofit sebagai agen biokontrol dapat menekan laju infeksi bakteri, menekan penyakit tanaman, menghambat pertumbuhan cendawan, mematikan larva nematoda, menekan jumlah puru akar, dan mengurangi populasi nematoda dalam jumlah yang besar.

Abstract

Ganyong (Canna indica L.) is a multifunction herbaceous plant that has been used for conturies as food, animal feed, and a soil conservation plant. Its ability to growth well in low-light conditions provides an opportunity to use C. indica as an intercropping plant between rubber trees that are often unused in rubber plantations. This research observed the effect of the shade of rubber canopy to the growth of C. indica compared to those grown on an open or sun exposed ground near rubber plantations in Subang (West Java). The results showed that plant height, stem length, number of leaves, tajuk dry mass, and rhizomes dry mass ware significantly higher (p < 0.05) in C. indica grown under canopy, 129.9 cm, 82.9 cm, 7.5 leaves 28.1 gr, 65.4 gr, compared to C. indica grown on open area at subang, 49.9 cm, 23.5 cm, 4.6 leaves, 10.9 gr, 15 gr. The RGR, NAR LAR, and SLA of C. indica under the rubber canopy 2 g. cm-2 day-1, 2.05 cm2. g-1 day-1, 44.2 cm2.g-1, 360.6 cm2. g-1 These results support the recommendation to use C. indica as intercropping plants to utilize the idle areas under the rubber stands.
