Abstract

The objectives of this study were to know total suspended solid (TSS) and sediment distributions in Jakarta bay and Seribu Islands waters. This study was conducted on 5-11 August 2003. Water samples for TSS measurement were taken from the water surface (2 m depth), 1 m upper the bottom surface, and in the middle of water column in each station. The highest TSS was found at 0.75 g/l on the water surface in front of the westside of Cengkareng drain. In Seribu Island waters, TSS was lower than 0.07 g/l. High TSS in the middle of water column were found in the north of Untung Jawa Island, Rambut Island waters, and north of Cengkareng drain. The highest TSS in the middle of water column reached 0.0324 g/l in surrounding Muara Angke waters. On the other hand, low TSSs in the middle of water column were found in the east of Untung Jawa Island and in the west of  Rambut Island at around 0.0268 g/l. On the bottom, high TSSs were found in the most east of Bidadari and Karang Ubi Islands at 0.23 g/l. Low TSSs at around 0.02 g/l were found in the east and southeast of Untung Jawa Island and the north part of sampling location in this study. Silty mud sediment was observed in the northwest of Cengkareng drain estuary. In the surrounding Dadap and Kamal estuaries, silt, sandy silt, sand, and silty sand sediments were gradually found. Distribution of muddy sand  sediment was found very narrow in the Jakarta Bay, but wider in the north of Tanjung Pasir. Silty sand, sand, sandy silt, and silt sediment were observed in the north part of sampling location in this study. The objectives of this study were to know total suspended solid (TSS) and sediment distributions in Jakarta bay and Seribu Islands waters. Abstract

Rapid and complicated development of system, operation, and money market instrument contribute in separation process between monetary and real sectors activities that deminise the effectiveness of monetary policy. Transmission mechanism test by using investment and net export channels indicated that increase in the interest rate of Indonesian Bank Certificate had negative impact on the performance, investment, export and Product Domestic Brutto of fisheries sectors.  Monetary instrument should be designed to drive aggregate demand in fisheries sectors in accordance with economical capacity from supply side. On the other hand, proactive effort in fisheries sectors was needed through the monetary policy from Bank of Indonesia to increase productivity of macro economy in fisheries sectors. Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate financial analysis of fingerling production of tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) fed commercial pellet and trash fish. The experiment was carried out in floating net cages located in the Gondol Research Institute for Mariculture Bali. A total of 3,000 humpback grouper juveniles with the average body weight of 12 g and 8 cm of total length, were stocked in six 2x2x2 m cages at stocking densities of 500 fishes/cage. The cages were divided in two groups for two treatments in triplicates. The treatments were feeding with commercial pellet and copper raw trash fish. Results showed that  body weight gain, total length, specific growth rate, were not significant different (P>0.05) between fish fed commercial pellet and trash fish. Feed conversion ratios obtained by commercial pellet and trash fish were 1.43 and 4.53, respectively. Survival rates were significant different (P<0.05) between fish fed commercial pellet and trash fish which were 83.33 and 69.86%, respectively. Nursering for production of tiger grouper fingerling fed either commercial pellet or trash fish in floating net cage were economically feasible. Feeding with commercial pellet gave a higher net profit of Rp 4,486,250.- with the RC ratio of 1.47 and rentability of 47.12%, while feeding with trash fish gave a net profit of Rp 3,212,500.- with the RC ratio of 1.37 and rentability of  37.35%.This study aimed to evaluate financial analysis of fingerling production of tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus) fed commercial pellet and trash fish. Abstract

Study on feeding habit and spawning season of lais (Criptopterus sp.) in fisheries reserve Sungai Sambujur, Hulu Sungai Utara, South Kalimantan was conducted from June until December 2004. The objectives of  this research were to know feeding habit and spawning season of lais in fisheries reserve Sungai Sambujur. Feeding habit was analysed by index of preponderance. Somatic index maturity and fecundity were determined by Nikolsky and gravimetri metods, respectively. The results  showed that the natural feed of  lais in dry season were  43% fish fragmen, 55% insect fragmen and 2% unidentified materials. While  in wet season, the natural feed of lais were 32% fish fragmen, 67.5% insect fragmen and 0.5% unidentified materials. Somatic index maturity of lais varied monthly ranging from  I to V. Fekundities of lais  were 197-5146 with body weight ranging from 17.5 to 40 g, and egg diameters ranged from 0.6 to 0.8 mm.Study on feeding habit and spawning season of lais (Criptopterus sp.) in fisheries reserve Sungai Sambujur, Hulu Sungai Utara, South Kalimantan was conducted from June until December 2004.
