Abstract

This paper presents a reliability analysis of elevator control system for CN235-220 aircraft. The analysis is carried out using Bayes theorem. Reliability analysis is performed for several system configurations, existing system and two modified systems. Reliability calculation shows that one of the modified systems has reliability relatively higher than the existing system. To insure all requirement needed, the other analysis i.e. strength, stability, etc. must be conducted for the modified system.

Abstract

At this moment, manufacturing industries in Indonesia must have high flexibility that can quickly responds dynamic changes in production processes. Autonomous Distributed Manufacturing System (ADiMS) is one of the production system alternative that can increase system flexibility with ability to adapt dynamic changing condition in the system.ADiMS is a production system where productions elements are independent, which planning process and production control is distributed to each independent element. Each of production's element has autonomy in running the monitoring, taking the decision, controlling, and communications functions with the other production's elements. Because each of the production elements take the decision independently, there should be a coordination of decision making result so the conflict will not occur among independent production elements. In this research AdiMS concept is applied in Foundry section at PT. Baninusa Indonesia. The task is to make a sand mold producing schedule based on the schedule of melting of cast iron or cast steel so it can support cast's order and filling the customer order. This research is done with the help of application program that specialized developed so it is hoped will make results a better scheduling of making sand mold casting.

Abstract

Accuracy measurements were carried out on a table movement of four axis machining center using laser interferometer based integrated measuring system. In this case the measurements included table positioning accuracy in x-axis direction and table angular as well as table straightness displacement accuracy. Following the obtained results, analysis of the machining center table displacement was carried out by modeling the table accuracy movement using a homogenous transformation matrix (HTM) method. Guide ways deflection was analyzed using five contact point method and other analysis performed by taking into account misalignment between ball screw & slideways. Diagnosis was conducted by comparing the theoretical table accuracy displacement curve and the one obtained from laser interferometer based measurement, for determining the slideways wear contour and the progressive wear of the ball screw.

Abstract

The need to increase operational speed and reduce the inertia effects led to the design of slender members. Consequently, elasticity of these members could no longer be neglected. The elasticity results in varying stiffness of the elastic member leading to parametric excitation. The dynamic behavior of an elastic coupler of a four-bar mechanism is investigated. The governing equation is nonlinear, partial differential equation with time-varying parameters. Perturbation method is employed to linearize the equation and the dynamic response is obtained using a closed-form numerical solution algorithm constructed through the discretization of the parameters continua. The dynamic stability of the system is evaluated based upon Floquet Theory. The results are presented in the form of parametric stability charts, and the dynamic stability analysis results were validated by a direct-integration method. The response become unstable at several bands of frequency. The effects of external force, damping and ratio of follower-to-coupler mass were examined. Results show that increase in tensile force, damping, and the mass ratio increased the stability of the elastic coupler.

Abstract

This paper describes the development of a portable microcontroller-based data acquisition system suitable for field balancing. The prototype was designed to have three channels. Channel 0 was designed to receive a DC signal and therefore suitable for reference signal, such as generated by optical sensor. In contrast, channels 1 and 2 were designed to receive AC signals and therefore suitable for vibration signals. In the design, the acquisition process was performed by three ADCs which sample data simultaneously, thus minimizing the phase difference between channels. The data obtained by ADC are then stored within memory, capable to store data as many as 8192 for each channel. The hardware is also equipped with a keypad modul as an input medium, an LCD modul as an output medium, and a rechargeable battery as a power supply. The software of this data acquitition system is classified into data-acquitition program and interface program. The performance of the prototype was tested using unbalance demontration setup and the results of measurement are compared to those obtained by MSA HP 35650 as a reference instrument. The measurement shows that results of measurement obtained by theprototype are relatively similar to those obtained by MSA.
