Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Agribisnis: Journal of Agribusiness Science is published by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, in collaboration with PERHEPI, the Indonesian Agricultural Economist Association. The first printed Journal was published in 2013 and the online version started in May 2018 edition. The scopes include agribusiness, agricultural economics, agricultural development, rural sociology, agricultural extension, food security, and other subjects related to agriculture and society. This Journal is published four times a year, February, May, August, and November.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to compare the corn farmer’s income between Tani Makmur Cooperative’s member and non member in Natar District Lampung Selatan and knowing the impact of cooperative membership for corn farmer who is member of Tani Makmur cooperative in Natar District South Lampung Regency. This research was taken place in Natar village from Juni 2013 to September 2013. The total of respondents are 48 corn farmers, consisting of 24 farmer members and 24 farmers not members of Tani Makmur Cooperative. They are chosen by using Simple Random Sampling Technique. Data used include primary and secondary data. Primary data are obtained by interviewing respondents using questionnaires. Secondary data are obtained from various literatures, printed media and some related agencies. The results of statistical analysis showed that there is a significant differentiation of corn farmer’s income between Tani Makmur Cooperative’s Members and Non Members in Natar Districk South Lampung Regency. The average income in first season of cooperative member (Rp8,257,396.09) was larger than the average income of corn farmer non cooperative member (Rp7,728,231.10).  In the second season, the average income of corn farmer cooperative member also larger (Rp4,749,114.97) than the average income of corn farmer non cooperative members (Rp4,448,974.41). The number of Cooperative economic benefits for members of the cooperative was Rp1,450,000.00 and the number of accounted benefits was Rp9,210,000.00 which derived from the difference price of production means such as Phonska fertilizer, urea fertilizer, and SP-36 fertilizer. The average number of cooperative economic benefits for total household income was Rp60,416.67, or 0.003 percent of the total household income per year cooperative member farmers. Abstract

The research aims to determine the performance of the foreman and the influence of the knowledge, skills, motivation and compensation to performance of the foreman. The method used was census method and use primary and secondary data. The primary data obtained from questionnaires that has been analyzed their validity and reliability to the respondents through direct interviews and secondary data obtained from the literature and related agencies. Data collection was conducted from August to September 2013. The data was analyzed descriptively and verificatively with double linier regression and the data has been analyzed their Successive Interval Method. The results showed that (1) performance of the foreman tapping has the best, (2) knowledge, skills, motivation, and compensation influenced to performance of foreman tapping simultansly while knowledge, skills, and motivation influenced to performance of foreman tapping in PT Perkebunan Nusantara VII, Kedaton Unit Business and Way Berulu Unit Business partially. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine: the amount of  income of banana farmers and the level of banana farmers’ welfare. This research was conducted in Padang Cermin Village of Padang Cermin District, Pesawaran Regency. Respondents were 40 banana farmers chosen by using simple random sampling method. Data analysis used in this study is a quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that, the amount of income of banana farmers in Padang Cermin village was Rp38,918,059.00 per year consisting of Rp29,945,659.95 per year (76.95%) from the banana farming, Rp7,088,400.95 per year or (18.21%) from farming other than banana, and the rest was from activities outside of farming, namely: Rp1,578,000.00 per year or (4.05%) from banana delivery service, Rp276,000.00 per year or (0.71%) from construction work, and Rp30,000.00 per year or (0.08%) from producing fermented soybean. Based on the criteria of Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), as many as 37 banana farmer household respondents or (92.50%) in Padang Cermin village regency were categorized as prosperous  and 3 banana farmers or (7.50%) were categorized as less prosperous. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the competitive and comparative advantages of mangosteen farm in Tanggamus Regency. The respondents were 45 farmers. Sample based on the age of the plant, from a number of farmers who have the same age plants and selecting a simple random sampling. The data was analyzed by PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix) analysis model. Assumption for the economic age of the mangosteen plant was 20 years. The results showed that the private revenue was Rp164,288,020 and social revenue was Rp397,293,431. Private profit was Rp35,207,465 and social profit was Rp266,725,184. Based on the analysis of competitiveness, it showed that   mangosteen farm in Tanggamus Regency had comparative and competitive advantages, in which PCR values ​​0.764 and DRCR 0.300. Mangosteen farm in Tanggamus was sensitive to a decrease in output production by 20%, and a decrease in output prices by 30%. Keywords: competitiveness, mangosteen, PAM, sensitivity

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out level of cocoa farmers’ perception toward cocoa farming Integrated Pest Management Field School (SL-PHT) program in increaseing cocoa productivity and farm income and factors related to cocoa farmers’ perception toward SL-PHT program in increaseing cocoa productivity and farm income. This research was conducted in Sukoharjo 1 Village as one of villages where the cocoa SL-PHT program took place. This study was held in August until October 2013. Twenty-six farmers as respondents were selected by using a census method. Analysis methods used in this research are descriptive and Rank Spearman’s correlation. The results showed that the level of cocoa farmers’ perception toward SL-PHT program was in a good classification, and cocoa SL-PHT program was beneficial in increasing productivity, income, and pest disease control of cocoa plants, the level of farming experience, level of farming knowledge, and level of farmers’ social interaction had a correlation to the level of cocoa farmers’ perception toward SL-PHT program in increasing cocoa productivity and farm income.  Whereas, level of farmers’ living need fulfillment had no correlation to the level of cocoa farmers’ perception toward SL-PHT program. Abstract

The reasearch that was conducted in Bandar Lampung aims to identify the bases and non-base sectors, identify the  economic performance and determine the potential sectors in Bandar Lampung City. This study using quantitative descriptive research model. The data used was Bandar Lampung GDP time series data from 2005 to 2012. It will be analyzed using three analysis tools, namely Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share (SS) and Growth Ratio Model (MRP). LQ analysis results indicated that there were seven sectors of the base and two sectors of non base. Shift share analysis showed that the performance of the financial sector, leasing and business services have higher growth than other sectors. MRP analysis showed that there were eight potential sector to be developed in Bandar Lampung. Keywords: base sector, economic structure, potential sector

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to find out Lampung’s duku marketing efficiency that was viewed from functions served by each of marketing agencies in Katibung subdistrict of South Lampung district and producer share, marketing margin and margin profit ratio.  This research was conducted in Katibung sub district as the production center and the biggest production site of Lampung duku in Lampung. The location was selected purposively.  Data were collected from May to June 2013. Samples were taken by using marketing channel method.  The samples were consisted of 50 farmers, 12 small collector traders, 5 big traders, and 5 groceries. Data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative method (with multifunction approach) and quantitative method (producer share, marketing margin and margin profit ratio).  The results showed that Lampung duku marketing in Katibung sub district of South Lampung district was not efficient, because some marketing functions were not operated properly such as storing and funding functions and producer share < 50%, marketing margin was so high that over two times average of farmer selling price, and the margin profit ratio of each marketing agency showed various and uneven values.
