Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Agribisnis: Journal of Agribusiness Science is published by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, in collaboration with PERHEPI, the Indonesian Agricultural Economist Association. The first printed Journal was published in 2013 and the online version started in May 2018 edition. The scopes include agribusiness, agricultural economics, agricultural development, rural sociology, agricultural extension, food security, and other subjects related to agriculture and society. This Journal is published four times a year, February, May, August, and November.

Abstract

Pesticide and chemical fertilizer usage in rice farming is known to deteriorate soil and environment.  Organic rice farming is developed.  However, there are not many farmers who cultivate organic compared to nonorganic rice. The objectives of this research are to analyze the cost, production, the income of organic and nonorganic rice farming, and to explore the benefits of organic rice farming. This research was conducted in Pringsewu Regency in August 2015.  The sampling method employed was a census on 30 farmers cultivating organic rice in two villages, and simple random of 30 farmers cultivating nonorganic rice.  Data were analyzed using farming analysis and descriptive qualitative.  The results showed that organic rice production (6,587 kg per ha) was lower than nonorganic rice production (6,630 kg per ha in two planting seasons).  The production cost of organic rice farming was higher (Rp39,011,679.00 per ha) than that of nonorganic rice farming (Rp30,326,937.00 per ha in two planting seasons).  Income of organic rice farming was higher than nonorganic, Rp50,759,725.00 and Rp24,454,808.00 respectively.  Organic rice farming was more profitable than nonorganic rice farming with the R/C on the total cost of organic rice farming of 2.30 and nonorganic rice farming of 1.81.  The B/C was 3.03.  In addition to economic benefit, farmers of organic rice obtained social benefits such as providing job field and farmer groups’ activity.  Environmental benefits that were obtained by farmer were reducing dependence on chemicals and creating a secure work environment for farmers. Abstract

This study aimed to determine: the participation level of the cooperative members, the effect of the participation toward the economic advantage that was received by the cooperative members, the household income structure of the cooperative members, and the prosperity level of the cooperative member.  This study was conducted in Koperasi Tani Surya Sekawan Banyuwangi Village, Banyumas Subdistrict, Pringsewu Regency. The respondents were 82 farmers which were consisted of 46 rice farmers, 33 cocoa farmers, and 3 coffee farmers. The data was analyzed by descriptive analysis, linear regression analysis, and income analysis.  The results showed that the participation level of members belonged to high category based on three aspects, the participation of the members in attending RAT, the participation of the members on paying off the obligation savings, and participation of the members in utilizing the service.  The economic advantage which derived by the high participation members was significantly different from the low and the medium participation members. The structure of household income received by the cooperative members came from: farming income by 73.70%, the outside of farming income by 25.93%, and the economic benefits by 0.37%. The prosperity of the members based on the criteria of BPS in 2007 was belonged to the prosperous category. Key words: income, level of participation, prosperity of members

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know financial performance, costumer’s performance, internal business process performance, and employee satisfaction. This research was conducted at a n agricultural company in Lembang, West Java.  This research was a case study in which data was analyzed method by Balanced Score card approach. The data was collected on August 2015. All data was analyzed by quantitative descriptive analysis.  The result showed that the financial performance of the Agricultural Company was on bad category in which scores obtained was only one out of six as a maximum score. The Costumers performance was on good category by obtaining score of five out of six. The Internal Business Process performance category was on quite well in which scores obtained was four. The Employee satisfaction performance category was on quite well, in which scores obtained was two.  In overall showed that the plantation performance was quite well. Abstract

The purposes of this research were to analyze the process of consumer’s decision making on organic rice purchasing and dominant component that influenced organic rice purchasing by consumers.  This research was conducted in Pringsewu District by considering that location one of the central productions and the pioneer of organic paddy farming in Lampung Province. The data was collected on June-July 2015 with survey method.  The samples of the research were 60 respondents both men and women that met the criteria such as having experience on buying and consuming organic rice at the last three months.  The data was analyzed usely descriptive analysis and statistic with validity, reliability, and principal component analysis.  The result showed that the process of decision making on organic rice purchasing by consumer was through all of the stage such as introduction needs, information searching, alternative evaluation, purchase decision and post purchase evaluation. There were three dominant components that influenced decision making on organic rice purchasing.  The first component was named habit component, the second component was named as appeal component, and the third component was named flavor component. Abstract

This research purposed to analyze household income of vegetable farmer, income distribution ofvegetable farmers and vegetable farmers welfare level in Simpang Kanan Village. Simpang Kanan Village, Sumberejo Sub districts, Tanggamus Regency was selected purposively because of vegetable producer in Lampung Province. The amount of the respondent for this research was 60 vegetable farmers were selected by census from farmers bunch in Simpang Kanan Village. This research was conducted with survey methods from November 2014 to May 2015. Analyze of vegetable farming used Soekartawi (1995), analyze of welfare rate based on Sajogyo (1997) and the income distribution by Gini Ratio based on Oshima and World Bank criteria. The research data was included primary and secondary data. The primary data was obtained by interviewing respondents using questionnaires, while secondary data was obtained by searching various literatures and related agencies. The result of this research showed that farmers household income source composed from several land such as yard farm, paddy field farm, kail yard farm, garden farm and non farming activity. The average worth of each household income source was Rp 53.467.405,31 from farming activity and Rp13.740.000,00 from non farming activity. Income distribution in research area was disproportionate with quite high gap, and farmer’s welfare level in research area was at moderatelevel, with non food expenditure was higher than food expenditure. Percentage of prosperous farmer were 78,33% and the poor farmer were 21,66%. This means that the farmers were prosepere enough in social welfare. Abstract

This research’s aims to determine the preferences, demand pattern and the factors which affect households demand for tapioca vermicelli in District of Purbolinggo of East Lampung Regency. This research was conducted by survey method. The research location is determined on purpose which is in District of Purbolinggo East Lampung Regency. This research was conducted in the markets and stalls around the house in District of Purbolinggo. There were 60 respondents household vermicelli tapioca in this study that was taken by accidental sampling. The data collection was carried out in June-September 2015. The method of analysis used in this study was quantitative descriptive to determine the preferences of households against tapioca vermicelli and the method with multiple linear regression method was used to determine the factors which affected households’ demand for tapioca vermicelli in District of Purbolinggo. The results showed that consumer preferences of households in the district of Purbolinggo against tapioca noodles are in the like category. The average purchase tapioca noodles was as much as 1.36 kg/month/household, the average frequency of purchase tapioca noodles was twice in a month, tapioca vermicelli widely used by domestic consumers as a soup, as well as the brand more preferred and purchased by domestic consumers are brand Moroseneng, consumers prefer or choose where to buy tapioca vermicelli that is in the shop , both at home and at stalls around the market.
