Abstract

ABSTRAKDalam artikel ini, penulis membahas kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) yang bertujuan memberikan pelatihan kepada masyarakat di Kampung Wisata Bahari Tambak Lorok, Semarang Utara, untuk menerjemahkan teks poster dari bahasa Indonesia ke bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2019 dan difokuskan pada penerjemahan poster promosi pariwisata. Penerjemahan dilakukan dengan menggunakan model penerjemahan interlingual (interlingual translation) atau translation proper dari Eugene Nida. Hasilnya, peserta pelatihan dapat menerjemahkan poster-poster pariwisata sederhana dari bahasa Indonesia ke dalam bahasa Inggris.  Kata kunci:  Tambak Lorok; penerjemahan; poster; kampung wisata bahari.  ABSTRACT This article centers upon the acts of community service that we conducted in Tambak Lorok, Semarang, in May 2019; the community service was aimed at teaching the people of Tambak Lorok Semarang to translate Indonesian posters into English. Tambak Lorok has since 2016 been projected into a maritime tourist destination by the government of Indonesia, and this is the reason the people of Tambak Lorok find it necessary to learn simple English. Learning English can done through various ways, one of which is through poster translation. The translation method used during the community service was interlingual translation or translation proper, as is proposed by Eugene Nida. The translation process includes three stages, namely analysis, transfer, and restructuring. The result of the community service is that the people of Tambak Loro who participated in the community service were able to translate simple tourism posters from Indonesian into English. Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini fokus pada penguatan jati diri bagi pelajar Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 3 Salatiga. Pelajar adalah bagian generasi muda yang akan meneruskan kepeminpinan bangsa di masa depan. Pada tingkat usia muda generasi muda memiliki idealism yang tinggi, namun di sisi lain di masa-masa perkembangan kepribadiannya masih sangat labil. Generasi muda harus memiliki kesiapan mental dan keteguhan jati diri. Perlu penguatan jati diri dan karakter bagi pemuda pelajar. Melalui sosialisasi tentang jati diri di era industri 4.0 dan dialog interkatif  melalui pendekatan problem solving yang disimulasikan, dapat memperluas wawasan dan memperkuat  intensitas penghayatan dan pengamalan nilai-nilai jati diri. Hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan, langkah penguatan jati diri nampak hasilnya dalam proses simulasi mampu menumbuhkan kesadaran nasionalisme, dan pengalaman baru tentang nilai-nilai jati diri dalam kontek tantangan Revolusi Industri 4.0. Sebagai tindak lanjut penguatan jati diri perlu pendampingan dan pembinaan oleh semua pihak yang terkait. Kata kunci : Penguatan jati diri, generasi muda, era revolusi industry 4.0.   This community service focuses on strengthening identity for Salatiga State High School 3 students. Students are part of the young generation who will continue the leadership of the nation in the future. At a young age, young people have high ideals, but on the other hand, in times of personality development, they are still very unstable. The young generation must have mental readiness and determination. Need to strengthen identity and character for young students. Through socialization about identity in the industrial era 4.0 and interactive dialogue through a simulated problem solving approach, it can broaden horizons and strengthen the intensity of appreciation and practice of identity values. The results of this community service show that the steps to strengthen identity appear to be the results of the simulation process that are able to foster nationalism awareness, and new experiences of identity values in the context of the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. As a follow-up to strengthening identity, it is necessary to provide assistance and guidance by all parties involved. Keywords: Strengthening of identity, the younger generation, the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.
