Abstract

A finite difference method is developed to solve a forced KdV equation representing a surface elevation of fluid flowing on a channel with a small bump at the bottom. We indicate some difficulties in solving the equation since it has a nonlinear and third derivative terms. We present the technique in this paper to solve the equation. As the result, the numerical scheme gives solutions performing nonlinear wave-trains of water surface generated by the forcing term.

Abstract

In simultaneous or structural  equation models, if there is true simultaneity among a set of variables, they should not be any apriori distinction between endogenous and exogenous variables. It is in this spirit of the VAR models. We study  stock value simultaneous model at PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Indonesia Tbk, for the period of 1998–2005. Variables in stock value simultaneous models are stock value, Return of Assets (ROA), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Earning Per Share (EPS). The data is obtained from the Indonesian Capital Market Directory, Jakarta Stock Exchange and PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Indonesia Tbk. Financial Statement. The empirical results showed that the variables under consideration can be said to be integrated of order one, and the residuals have independent and normal distribution. With AIC and SC values, we conclude that each equations contains four lag values of Stock Value, ROA, DER, and EPS. The estimated VAR model can be used for forecasting the future values of stock value. In this study, we forecast the stock value from 2006:1 until 2007:12.

Abstract

The logistic growth model with time delay has developed from the classical logistic model, where as in the growth logistic model with time delay, the growth process delay from a population is calculated. This delay cause population decrease then increase so oscillation appears in population growth. So, the solution is not a monotonous function. The result of analysis indicate that the logistic growth model with time delay have two equilibrium points. Each equilibrium points is analyzed for their stability based on time delay variation on the population growth. The longer time delay in the population growth can cause the  unstable growth, hence the population decrease and become extinct.

Abstract

The principle_work of polyvascular clepsydra water clocks is to make the constant flow on the last vessel. A viscosity dominated case can influence a liquid flow in this clepsydra, beside the number of the vessel which build this clepsydra, will influence a constant flow duration. The increasing the number of the vessel will increase the duration of the constant flow. A case study at PT Tirta Sidatama  is given toverify the principle_work of this clepsydra.

Abstract

The models of growth seaweed Gracillaria biomass are constructed by examining the result observation of pattern  growth seaweed Gracillaria biomass in the field. Then, these result are presented by drawing graphic behavior of growth seaweed Gracillaria biomass. This graphic shows that behavior of growth form sigmoidal curve. According to some references the model of growth seaweed Gracillaria biomass is models of logistic growth with constant carrying capacity. The result of analysis show that the amount of biomass to reach maximum when the amount of seaweed Gracillaria biomass same to the carrying capacity.

Abstract

In 1961 Maehara introduced a proof-theoretical method to prove the interpolation theorem for standard logics. By developing Maehara’s method, we can prove interpolation theorem for some non-standard logics, including the commutative predicate  logics  Fle dan Fle,w. In the present paper we show that by modifying Maehara’s method we can also prove the interpolation theorem for non-commutative predicate logics FL and FLw.

Abstract

The eccentric digraph of a digraph, , is the digraph that has the same vertex set as  and the arc set defined by: there is an arc from  to  if and only if  is an eccentric vertex of . In this paper, we examine eccentric digraphs of  digraphs of varoius families of digraphs and we consider the behaviour of an iterated sequence of eccentric digraphs of a digraph.
