Abstract

Study on the potential yield of deep sea shrimp in the south off Java waters (lndian Ocean) was carried out based on data collected from the survey conducted between May and June 2005 using Baruna Jaya IV research vessel. This study was basically conducted by applying swept area method.

Abstract

Abstract

The millennium gill net was recently adopted by Cirebon fishermen. lts use has been spread to other areas. Research on this type of gear has been rare. The objectives of this research were to investigate the effects of transparency on the fish behaviour towards net panel of millennium gill net and to obtain the information on catch composition and the capture process of millennium gill net.

Therefore, knowledge of the distribution pattern lnd aggregations of commercial fish in space and time is of considerable financial value to the fishers anAlisnlng industry because it will assist them to reduce the time and fuel consumption of the boats in locating the rich fishing grounds.
