Abstract

The genetic diversity study of bigeye tuna in Indonesia from Indian Ocean has never been done. One of the analysis to obtain information on the genetic diversity is by using the PCR-RFLP technique.

Siak River is one of four big rivers in Riau Province suffered from anthropogenic substances deriving from various human aciivities. The substances not only degrade the water quality but also influence aquatic organisms such as fish.

Abstract

Coral trout is an important export commodity in many countries in southeast Asia. In Indonesia, the export of grouper currently relies on capture fisheries. To ensure sustainability of the wild catch as well as to develope mariculture, we need to better understand the performance of wild broodstock.

Abstract

Investigatiorr of stock and distribution of fishery resources was done in Toba Lake in October 2005, at the time when the wet season prevailed, using acoustic method. Split-beam echosounder SIMRAD Ey-60 operated at frequency ol iZO KHz and 0.512 ms pulse duration was used.

Abstract

Lobster is one of the most important fisheries export commodities. An increasing trend of annual production during 1999-2005 was occurred, however a decreasing trend during 2005-2007 was observed. lt is likely that the long lived and slow growing species group do not capable to balance the fishing pressure.
