Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategy of memorizing the Qur'an using the tikrar method in fostering the memorization of female students at the Tahfidz Center Putri Karangpandan Al-Qur'an Interpretation Council (MTA) Islamic Boarding School. The tikrar method is an intensive repetition technique that has been proven effective in producing memorization that is Mutqin (strong and inherent) and valid (correct according to the rules of tajwid). This study employs a qualitative-descriptive methodology, collecting data through literature reviews, interviews, and observations. An interactive analysis model is used for analysis. The study's findings show that the merging of spiritual and technical elements supports the tahfidz strategy's effectiveness at this Islamic boarding school. The spiritual aspect in the form of tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the heart) is implemented through the habituation of manners, strengthening intentions, and fostering morals before the memorization process begins. In the technical aspect, the tikrar method is implemented through the following stages: (1) Ziyadah, namely the addition of new memorization with layered repetition; (2) Juziyah, namely the submission of one juz in its entirety as an evaluation of the quality of memorization; (3) Tasmi' Marhalah, namely the payment of a number of juz as a condition for increasing the level; and (4) Semester Tahfidz Exam, which is a comprehensive evaluation of memorization during one learning period.

Abstract

The Malay Society is an ethnic group with a strong identity in language, and cultural values formed by a long history of social, religious, and civilizational interactions, especially in the Malay Peninsula. The kenduri tradition as one of the cultural practices in Malay society is not a ceremonial ritual but plays a strategic role in pedagogical or educational matters as a means of character formation that takes place not only through formal institutions, but also through traditions and social practices of the community that instill spiritual educational values and social ethics that become the identity of the characteristics of the Malay society. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method approach (Literature review) with literature analysis and historical-cultural data searches from articles or previous studies to identify the function of the kenduri tradition in education in the life of Malay society. The results of this study indicate that the kenduri tradition contains spiritual educational and social values that function as a means of non-formal education that cannot be replaced by education through modern formal based on institutions.

Abstract

This study examines how the political images of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates were shaped during the first round of the 2004 presidential election, as reflected in the coverage of the Suara Merdeka newspaper in Semarang City. The 2004 election marked an important stage in the development of Indonesian democracy, as it was the first time the president and vice-president were chosen directly by the public. As a result, newspapers became a key tool for political communication. The main source of information for this study is the Suara Merdeka newspaper during the 2004 election campaign, supported by references from books and academic articles. The research reveals that Suara Merdeka did more than just report news—it actively influenced the public perception of the candidates by selecting specific issues, determining how often they were covered, and highlighting certain symbols. Therefore, newspapers played an important role in shaping how the public understood the political competition during this period of democratic change.

Abstract

Art schools emphasize creativity and freedom of expression; therefore, they require specific strategies to internalize religious values in order to achieve a balance between art and Islamic morality. This study aims to describe the forms of internalization of Islamic values at SMK Negeri 8 Surakarta and to identify challenges in their implementation. This research employs a qualitative approach using observation and field practice methods. The findings show that the internalization of Islamic values is carried out through religious habituations and activities, such as religious literacy, Qur’anic recitation before Islamic Religious Education lessons, Friday sermon training, Islamic-themed wayang performances, and the habituation of praying for deceased members of the school community. These activities contribute to the development of students’ religious character and social awareness, although challenges remain in the form of low student interest and limited participation in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategies of assimilation of education in Pakistan to build an inclusive civilization in a divided society while identifying knowledge gaps in the existing literature. The core problem lies in the fragmented education system, which creates "educational apartheid" and exacerbates social segregation based on ideology and socio-economic class. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA guidelines, synthesizing 10 final articles drawn from the Scopus database between 2015 and 2025. The findings reveal that the assimilation strategy in Pakistan is dominated by a top-down approach through the instrumentalization of religion and the standardization of the Single National Curriculum (SNC). However, this strategy proved ineffective because it fueled ethno-nationalist resistance, deepened sectarian divisions, and perpetuated gender bias. This conclusion confirms that coercive assimilation fails to foster authentic social cohesion. Therefore, a paradigm shift towards an integrative model that accommodates the plurality of identities and deconstructs colonial legacies is essential to achieving a stable and inclusive civilization.

Abstract

Eye, foot, and hand coordination is crucial for motor development, which is important in sports and children's daily activities. Children with good motor skills tend to have higher self-confidence and optimal social skills. This study aims to improve the gross motor skills of sixth-grade students at SD Negeri 3 Pasekan through skipping training. This research identifies effective forms of skipping exercises, their effectiveness in improving coordination, and the extent of improvement. Using a quantitative One-Group Pretest-Posttest experimental method with 25 students, the results showed that skipping training effectively improved motor skills significantly. The initial pretest showed that 40% of children had not developed, but after four training sessions, there was a drastic improvement: 12% developed as expected and 80% were very good (total 92%). The Normalized Gain (N-Gain) value of 0.84 indicates a very significant improvement, proving the effectiveness of this method in motor development. Teachers also observed an increase in student enthusiasm and active participation, even taking the initiative to practice skipping during breaks. In addition, skipping had a positive impact on psychological aspects such as student confidence, discipline, and cooperation.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is one of the infectious diseases that remains a public health problem in the city of Semarang. From 2010 to 2019, the number of DHF cases fluctuated, with an upward trend during certain periods. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of DHF cases in the period 2010 to 2019, as well as to examine the response of the government and the community in efforts to combat it. This study discusses how DHF cases in Semarang City fluctuate each year and what kind of response is taken to control the disease. The research method used is the historical method, which consists of four elements: heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data was obtained from newspaper archives, reports, and relevant previous studies. The results of the study show that the fluctuation in dengue fever cases is also influenced by environmental factors, population density, and seasonal changes, while the government and community responses are carried out through mosquito breeding site eradication programs, fogging, and health education. Combating dengue fever requires continuous cooperation between the government and the community so that dengue fever cases can be reduced more effectively.

Abstract

This study critically examines the configuration of social stratification in Jerusalem during the period 1174–1185 as represented in the film Kingdom of Heaven. Employing a qualitative methodological framework, the research integrates content analysis and narrative analysis to systematically identify hierarchical structures depicted within the film, including the monarchy, nobility, military aristocracy, urban classes, and non Latin communities. These cinematic representations are subsequently juxtaposed with contemporary historiographical scholarship to evaluate their representational accuracy and interpretive deviations. The findings indicate that, although the film incorporates narrative simplifications and dramatization, it retains the fundamental characteristics of socio-political inequality in the Latin Kingdom particularly the dominance of the Frankish elite, restricted mobility among lower strata, and the interplay of religious authority and political power in sustaining hierarchical order. The study concludes that film functions not merely as a medium of entertainment but as a cultural apparatus capable of shaping public perceptions of medieval societies through selective reconstruction of the past.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Islamic Religious Education (Pendidikan Agama Islam/PAI) teachers in preventing bullying behavior at SMPN 5 Sukoharjo. Bullying remains a serious problem in the school environment, occurring in verbal, nonverbal, social, and physical forms, and has negative impacts on students’ psychological development and character formation. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving PAI teachers, guidance and counseling teachers, homeroom teachers, and students. The findings indicate that PAI teachers play a strategic role in bullying prevention by integrating Islamic values into the learning process, fostering the habituation of noble character, providing role modeling, and delivering Qur’anic and Hadith-based teachings that emphasize the prohibition of harming or humiliating others. In addition, PAI teachers collaborate with guidance and counseling teachers, maintain intensive communication with parents, and optimize religious activities such as Qur’an recitation (tadarus), Dhuha prayer, the recitation of Asmaul Husna, and other religious habituation programs. These efforts contribute to reducing bullying behavior and fostering students’ character to become more empathetic, polite, and respectful toward others. Therefore, Islamic religious education serves as an important instrument in creating a safe, religious, and bullying-free school environment.
