Abstract

The research aims to conduct an economic valuation of the wealth of marine resources in the South Coastregion West Java with a technique to quantify the value of resources in monetary terms. The experiment wasconducted September-December 2012 include Ciamis, Tasikmalaya, Garut, Cianjur, Sukabumi. Datacollected include secondary data and primary data. Secondary data was collected from relevant agencies, primary data collected through field observation and Focus Group Discussion. Analysis methode was usedescription analysi. Economic valuation used Total Economic Valuation (TEV) approachs, involved renewableresources such as mangrove resources, fisheries culture (fond and marine culture), and fishing; nonrenewableresources (mining); and environmental services (tourism activities). The results of this research obtained theeconomic value (present value with a discount factor of 16%) in the marine resources of the South West Javain 2012 for renewable resources amounted to Rp 1.408.989.172.400, which consists of the present value ofthe economic value of fish resources Rp. 1,345,910,309,000; aquaculture Rp. 60,725,829; coral reefresources. Rp 9,138,987,443; seagrass resources Rp. 46,367,631,672; and mangrove resource Rp.7,511,518,456. The total economic value of nonrenewable resources (iron/Fe deposit) was USD 31,950trillion; and the economic value of tourism services was Rp. 3,558,263,040,000.

Abstract

The high level of competition among educational institutions demands each institution to be able to manage itsinstitution professionally. Educational institution could address high competitiveness by having a good qualityeducation. The decision of an institution to conduct a systematic quality improvement action serves asdeterminant to handle students’ complaints so that at the end, it can increase the satisfaction of graduates. Thepurpose of this study is to analyze the influence of quality of education (governance, community service, curriculum study, learning process, human resources, academic atmosphere, research and publications, student affairs, finance, as well as infrastructure and facilities) towards satisfaction of graduates in RespatiHealth Science Institute (STIKes) Tasikmalaya. The method used is quantitative research with cross sectionalstudy design. The population in this study is all graduates of STIKes Respati Tasikmalaya in the past two years, namely Batch VII and VIII amounting to 201 graduates. Sampling techniques taken in this study is simple randomsampling in total of 106 graduates. Methods of data collected in this study through questionnaire. The resultsshow that there is a positive influence between qualities of education towards satisfaction of graduates in STIKesRespati Tasikmalaya. It is expected that STIKes Respati Tasikmalaya improves the quality of education so thatgraduates can be satisfied.

Abstract

Link Track is a spare part of Bucket Wheel Excavator at Bukit Asam coal mine in West Sumatra. The spare partwas previously imported from Germany or India. The development of this product has been recomended by theuser of PT Bukit Asam Muara Enim to subtitize the imported product. On this research the material design ofLink Track has been obtained by Polman Bandung. The methods are included of material design and process, sampel cast, heat treatment, mechanical testing and metalography examination.the result shown that the bestcomposition of high tensile steel with alloying of Ni, Cr and Mo can reach high tensile strength which is properfor Link Track application. The heattreatment process which can obtain that result come from Normalizingprocess and followed by double reheating process of 650oC then second reheat on 650oC. The mechanicalproperties which is found is 683 Mpa, yield strength of 525 Mpa and elongation of 20 %.

Abstract

Ferro Casting Ductile (FCD) 700 is widely used for products requiring strength, ductility and impact resistance such as crank shaft. Surface hardening can be aplied to improve the performance of this material which can be accomplished through nitriding process. This research deals with nitriding process by using urea as the nitrogen source to achieve the surface hardness of 700 HV(600 HRC). Nitriding has been accomplished by varying the temperature (530oC, 550oC, 580oC, 600oC, and 620oC) and holding time (1-2hrs). The ratio between the amount of urea and surface area is constantly maintained at 0,25 g/mm2, while the room pressure in the nitriding tube was 0,3 Mpa. The hardness value and the microstructure are used to analyse the result. 1 hr of holding time with at the temperature of 580oC, 600oC, 620oC and 2 hrs holding time at 530oC, 550oC, 580oC, 600oC, dan 620oC has resulted white layer on the surface of the material. The maximum depth of white layer (4,83 μm) has been achieved at 2 hrs holding time and temperature of 620oC. The maximum hardness of 733 HV is resulted after holding the temperature at 580oC for 2 hrs.

Abstract

Xylene (dimetilbenzene) is a derivative of benzene with molecul formula C6H4(CH3)2 and grouped to aromaticorganic compound with high toxicity. Xylene is widely used as a paint solvent, often inhaled by workers whichcan cause health problems both acute and chronic. Methyl Hippuric Acid (MHA) is a result of xyleneprocessing by human body, then excreted in urine after passing through several processes. On observation ofworkshop workers with questionnaire was found that there were some exposure data at every time theyworked: 0.042 to 4.447 ppm. By reference to the regulation of Labor and Transmigration Minister No.13/2011,the concentration of xylene found not exceed the threshold limit value 100 ppm. The TLV is 100 ppm. Theresults showed a relationship between xylene and MHA was a fairly strong with the value of r (correlation)0.813. Concluded, greater concentration of xylene would increase MHA concentration so the workshop’sworkers could be expressed as exposed to xylene. The workers have to use masks to prevent theirselvesfrom another toxic chemicals in paints. The results could be used by West Java and Bandung CityGovernment to release regulation to prevent informal workers in car workshop and people from xylene risk.
