Abstract

CALL draws attention for teachers’ EFL classroom due to its captivating power for enhancing language learning. Several studies prove that CALL is extremely able to promote learners’ skills, yet, there are some obscures ideal practices. The study aims at investigating teachers’ perception on challenges and strategies on CALL practice in the EFL secondary classroom. This study utilises qualitative methods with oral semi-structured interview as the data collection. It involves 6 English teachers who have accustomed their teaching with CALL. They possess different teaching experiences, school infrastructures, and setting ; 2 urban public school, 1 suburban public school, 2 urban private school, and 1 suburban private school. The data are analysed through three phases for ensuring demanded results which can depict challenges and strategies on the basis of teachers’ perception. It results that teachers encounter challenges on insufficient school facilities, inadequate lesson time, unfavourable instructional culture, and disproportionate technological competence. Pertaining to the strategies, they recommend the fulfilment of school facilities, plan-b design, and forum group discussion among teachers. As the summary, this study has deemed a light on how technology is integrated through CALL in EFL Secondary Classroom that eventually brings about preventive action plan for granting the desired outcome. The teachers’ perception might depend on their background knowledge related to the issue, their current workplace, and teaching experiences.

Abstract

Areca atau yang juga dikenal sebagai buah pinang, adalah salah satu tanaman yang memiliki peranan penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat Papua. Penelitian dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui ekstensi mengenai buah pinang yang digunakan sebagai alat kontak bagi masyarakat Papua di Arso Swakarsa, serta mengetahui ekstensi mengenai buah pinang yang dipandang mampu menjadi alat kontak bagi masyarakat setempat. Metode yang diterapkan pada penelitian “Pinang Sebagai Kontak Masyarakat Papua (Studi Kasus pada Masyarakat Papua di Arso Swakarsa Kabupaten Keerom)” menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini berfokus pada praktik konsumsi buah pinang pada masyarakat setempat. Penggunaan pinang menjadi kebiasaan yang digunakan sebagai kudapan dan simbol budaya yang menunjukkan betapa pentingnya pinang dalam kehidupan sehari-hari baik kalangan anak-anak hingga dewasa. Menggunakan pinang sebagai pembuka komunikasi, dapat menciptakan momen yang santai dan menyenangkan untuk berinteraksi dengan orang lain, memperkuat ikatan sosial, dan kebersamaan serta memperluas jaringan sosial. Selain itu adanya para-para pinang masyarakat Papua di Arso Swakarsa dapat menjadikannya sebuah media bertukar informasi, saling berbagi cerita serta saling berdiskusi, saling mendengarkan dan memberika perhatian satu sama lain. Menciptakan rasa kebersamaan dan persaudaraan yang kuat dalam terjalinnya ikatan sosial. Namun demikian para-para pinang mulai mengalami pergeseran akibat dari kesibukan masyarakat yang menimbulkan pola individualis dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

Religious education plays a crucial role in shaping the Pancasila character of elementary school students. It contributes to the internalization of the noble values of Pancasila. The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of Catholic Religious Education for elementary school students through the use of discovery learning. The subjects of this research are the fourth-grade students of SDN Mananga Aba. The research method used is Classroom Action Research, which includes planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was done using a test technique, consisting of 10 multiple-choice questions. The data analysis is descriptive covering student completion, class completion, and the analysis of teacher and student activity observations. The results of this study show that, in cycle I, students achieved a score of 65, which increased to 85 in cycle II. The teacher activity observation score in cycle II was 96, while in Cycle I it was 56. The student activity observation score in cycle II was 96, while the cycle I score was 63. The teacher and student scores in cycle II have reached the Good category. This research concludes that the implementation of discovery learning can improve the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN Mananga Aba. This finding implies an enhancement in teachers' comprehension and abilities in utilizing discovery learning to further improve student achievement.

Abstract

Banjir merupakan salah satu jenis bencana hidrometeorologi yang semakin memengaruhi wilayah perkotaan, terutama akibat perubahan tata guna lahan, intensitas curah hujan yang tinggi, dan sistem drainase yang tidak memadai. Studi ini dilakukan di Kecamatan Lempake, Kecamatan Samarinda Utara, wilayah Kota Samarinda yang rawan banjir akibat urbanisasi yang pesat dan degradasi lingkungan. Tujuan studi ini adalah: (1) Menganalisis eksternalitas negatif akibat banjir terhadap lingkungan fisik, ekosistem, dan kondisi sosial masyarakat; (2) Mengkaji dampak ekonomi banjir, termasuk kerusakan aset dan strategi adaptasi yang diterapkan warga; dan (3) Mengevaluasi kapasitas masyarakat dalam merespons banjir dan menganalisis efektivitas kebijakan pengelolaan lingkungan yang ada. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan observasi lapangan, wawancara mendalam, Diskusi Kelompok Terarah (FGD), dan kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 30 rumah tangga terdampak banjir yang dipilih secara purposif. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banjir telah menyebabkan pencemaran air, kerusakan drainase, munculnya penyakit, dan kerusakan properti rumah tangga. Kerugian ekonomi meliputi kerusakan aset dan terganggunya kegiatan penghasil pendapatan. Sebagian besar warga belum menerima pelatihan kesiapsiagaan bencana atau akses terhadap informasi mitigasi banjir. Respons pemerintah dinilai terbatas, tanpa adanya tempat evakuasi resmi; sebagai gantinya, warga berlindung di rumah tetangga, masjid, atau posyandu. Temuan ini menyoroti kebutuhan mendesak untuk memperkuat kapasitas adaptasi masyarakat dan mengintegrasikan kebijakan lingkungan yang berkelanjutan untuk secara kolektif mengurangi risiko banjir di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis transformasi partisipasi masyarakat dalam pembangunan desa wisata Ponggok sebagai upaya meningkatkan kesejahteraan, dengan meninjau melalui perspektif Thinking Ahead dalam kerangka Dynamic Governance. Studi ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif, dan menjadikan Desa Ponggok, Kabupaten Klaten, Jawa Tengah, sebagai objek penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang komprehensif terhadap dinamika yang terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan signifikan dalam pola partisipasi masyarakat Desa Ponggok tidak hanya disebabkan oleh intervensi pemerintah desa, melainkan juga oleh pergeseran pola pikir masyarakat yang semakin visioner dan proaktif. Program-program strategis seperti “Kartu Cerdas, Satu Rumah Satu Sarjana” dan “1 RW 1 Usaha” menjadi katalisator penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia dan mendiversifikasi basis ekonomi desa. Transformasi ini berdampak pada meningkatnya partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam pengelolaan potensi desa, khususnya di sektor pariwisata, serta membentuk budaya kolaborasi yang kuat dalam pengambilan keputusan dan pelaksanaan pembangunan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan pembangunan desa yang berkelanjutan mensyaratkan adanya sinergi antara perencanaan berbasis Thinking Ahead dan partisipasi masyarakat yang substantif sebagai aktor utama pembangunan.

Abstract

Punk Football is a subcultural phenomenon born from the meeting of two cultural elements: the rebellious spirit of punk and the passion for soccer. Riverside Forest is an alternative club to the chaos of Indonesian football. The majority of the club's funding is collectively funded by its supporters. The purpose of this research is to be able to describe the history and contribution of Riverside Forest to the soccer industry in Bandung City in 2021-2023. The method used is the historical research method which has four stages, namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The club's philosophy is inseparable from criticism of the commercialization of modern football and their focus on building inclusive and community-based football with its supporters. Bird Dead Brigade (BDB) and Riverside Forest itself have a crucial role in shaping local identity and making a real contribution to the football industry. As key elements in the soccer ecosystem, they are not only fans, but also social actors that connect the sport to the cultural values, history, and pride of Bandung. Both Bird Dead Brigade (BDB) and Riverside Forest FC contribute significantly to the soccer industry, especially in Bandung. Their presence at the stadium drives ticket, merchandise and sponsorship revenue.

Abstract

The low mathematics learning outcomes of third-grade students at SDIT Annisa in Bogor Regency, which only reached 41.17% in the initial cycle, became the focus of this research. This issue is attributed to the use of traditional teaching methods and a lack of innovative learning media. The aim of this study was to enhance students' mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model and numbered scoreboard media. This research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) model, conducted over two cycles with several stages, including planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 17 third-grade students, and data were collected through observations, tests, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques utilized both qualitative and quantitative approaches to assess improvements in learning outcomes. The results indicated a significant increase in learning outcomes, where the initial results of 41.17% in the pre-cycle rose to 64.70% in the first cycle and reached 94% in the second cycle. This improvement occurred as student engagement and motivation increased during the interactive and group-based learning process. These findings demonstrate that the STAD model combined with counting board media is effective in enhancing mathematics learning outcomes, as well as encouraging students to be more active and enthusiastic in their learning. This research contributes practically to the development of innovative teaching methods in elementary schools.

Abstract

The impact of tin mining activities in coastal regions on Bangka Island is cause for concern due to the damage inflicted on the coastal ecosystem. The study aims to analyze: 1) the resilience strategies used by traditional fishermen impacted by tin mining along the coast of Bangka Island; 2) Examining the attributes of conventional fishermen with adaptable abilities; 3) Studying the factors that contribute to the resilience of traditional fishermen; 4) Also, provide suggestions to enhance the skills of traditional coastal fishermen regarding tin mining, focusing on local capacity. The current approach for research includes carrying out surveys. The site selection is centered on coastal regions that have been shaped by tin mining, with a particular emphasis on the central area of Bangka. The data analysis technique involves exploring and describing information. Findings of the study indicate that: 1) Traditional fishermen utilize an active resilience strategy; 2) Key qualities of resilient traditional fishermen include Insight, Independence, Relationships, Initiative, Creativity, Humor, and Morality; 3) Family plays a crucial role in supporting the resilience of traditional fishermen; and 4) A recommended policy to enhance the resilience of traditional fishermen involves implementing a social empowerment program with a degrowth perspective, focusing on initiatives like fostering agricultural enterprises, marine cultivation, and coastal tourism.
