Abstract

This article discusses a review book of al-Muwattâ’ titled Tafsîr Gharîb al-Muwattâ’ by Abû Marwân ‘Abd al-Mâlik bin Habîb, an Andalusian Mâliki scholar who lived in the range 174-238 H. The discussion includes the author figure, the status of the book and the contents, systematics as well as the method. The reception of this book will also be discussed at the end of the writing. This book explains gharîb or abstruse words in al-Muwattâ’ both in a language and a fiqh explanation. Abû Marwân,  has placed the scope of gharîb al-hadîth broader than usual. Unlike the other essay of Abû Marwân, al-Wadihah, Tafsîr Gharîb al-Muwattâ’ did not receive a positive response, because the contribution of this book is not too significant, other than because of carelessness in narration. Abû Marwân not only saw this gharîb from the linguistic aspect, but also from the fiqh aspect, so that it was not always the words described in gharîb language, but words or sentences that did need further explanation fiqh, even though the word is actually not gharîb linguistically. The advantage of this book lies in its method of being able to present a book that is practical, easy to understand and applicable, not long-winded.Keyword: Tafsîr, Gharîb, al-Muwattâ’, ‘Abd al-Mâlik bin Habîb

Abstract

Kitab Pembebasan is Eko Prasetyo’s first work in the field of interpretation contains the stories of prophets and friends in the Qur'an. For him, the stories of the prophets no longer have the power to change circumstances, then progressive logic brings Eko to an interpretation of the stories of the prophet to the surrounding social problems. When many commentators who interpret the Quran relate to the social community, then interpreting the Quran leads to social criticism being unique to discuss. So this paper is focused on discussing social criticism in the Book of Liberation. In this paper, there are indications of the content of social criticism Eko Prasetyo then grouped them into five fields, namely economics, religion, education, politics and society. Then explained based on the theme specifically. Then develop social criticism based on each theme. Among them is a criticism of the economic system of capitalism, interpretation of the meaning of Satan, tyranny, seditious and idolatrous, religious and financiers, criticism of Suharto and the New Order, the case of the murderous activist Salim deer. Also, Eko's other works were reviewed to develop his criticisms. The interpretation for Eko through the Book of Liberation is the contextualization of the problems that occur around him, Eko does not care about the interpretation of the interpretation, because for Eko, the Qur'an is a book of movements that must be practiced.Keyword: Eko Prasetyo, Progressive Interpretations, Qissah, al-Qur’an

Abstract

This article examines the intellectual figures of the hadith in Nusantara whose works have worldwide with a background of inspiration from the phenomenon of Nusantara’s hadith figures that are spelled out so much, such as al-Raniri, Yasin al-Fadani, Hasyim Asy’ari, Maḥfûẓ al-Tarmasî, and so forth. This paper specifically examines one of the figures of the Ulamâ’ Nusantara, namely Maḥfûẓ al-Tarmasî, both in terms of biography, his contribution in the fields of hadith, qirâ’ah, and sanad. The method used in this paper is a content data analysis using literature studies (library research). The expected result of this paper is that the breadth of al-Tarmasî’s scientific knowledge is not only limited to the discipline of hadith or its knowledge, but also other disciplines such as qirâ’ah, fiqh and so forth. In this study, it was concluded that al-Tarmasî had a major contribution to the spread of qirâ’ah in Nusantara. He became the main reference in terms of qirâ’ah. Likewise, in the field of Hadith, the sanad owned by al-Tarmasî is connected in a chain to its author, and on this basis, many Indonesian take the path of teacher training to al-Tarmasî.Keyword: al-Tarmasi, Hadith, Nusantara

Abstract

Discourse on scientific theology is quite often lead to debate among scholars and scientists today. The central point of the debate is on the relationship between the Qur’an dan science, namely the Total Agreement, Partial Agreement and the Refuse Group. Bucaillism as representation the Total Agreement group has the view that the Quran besides functioning as a moral-ethical guideline and guidance is also the source of all the phenomena of science. This article to photograph what and how bucaillism, find the cause and do methodological criticisms on it. This research concludes that the tendency towards the progress of science becomes an important point in the progress of the civilization of Muslims. With the harmonization of science and religion, it can increase creativity and innovation in doing business in making discoveries. Qur’an which contains many creeds and moral-ethical and verses of science can be a guide for scientists in developing science and technology so that the benefit of humans and the environment is always maintained. Nevertheless, the argumentative basis in scientific research is not only based on the literal meaning of the text but leads to the moral-ethical content.Keyword: Bucaillism, Quran, Phenomena of Science

Abstract

Islam has been present in Indonesia to bring change to a better direction. Islam is not directly accepted by the people of Indonesia. As a step of the initiative of Islamic missionaries in Indonesia, it uses an approach that deals with matters that are inherent in the everyday life of Indonesian society. One of the most effective approaches to spreading Islam is through culture. Indeed, what has been done by Indonesian Islamic preachers reflects the spirit of dakwah, which is recommended by Allah in his word (Q.S. al-Nahl: 125). As a contextualized form of the Rasulullah dakwah method, Islamic preachers in Indonesia have presented Islam really in its context as a religion, not as an Arabic cultural product, as it has recently been misunderstood by some. Through socio-historical-contextual approaches with linguistic analysis based on the interpretation of the scholar's linguistic and social use theory and the use of gratification theory introduced by Herbert Blumer and Elihu Katz, this paper will reveal the values and messages of practice preaching the Prophet to Arab society in his time linked to the practice of dakwah Ulama Indonesia so as to make people aware of the importance of culture in building a civil life, which through culture.Keywords: Dakwah, al-Nahl: 125, Civic Society

Abstract

Memorization of the Quran activities are activities that involve some intelligence in the process. Memorizing of the Quran can be done by anyone, from early childhood to the elderly. The focus of this study is on the process of memorizing of the Quran carried out by student at University. The study focused only on two boarding schools, namely the boarding schools of Krapyak and Kotagede, as boarding schools that have many students who study at University. The main problem is the influence of intrapersonal intelligence in the success of students in the process of memorizing the Quran. Intrapersonal intelligence here is the ability to recognize one’s character and strength. With a good introduction to yourself, the possibility of successfully fulfilling the role of a student as well as a santri who memorizing the Quran is very possible. The results of this study are the higher intrapersonal intelligence of a santri, a higher percentage of success that will be achieved in the process of memorizing the Quran, although several other obstacles may be faced.Keyword: Memorization of the Quran, Intrapersonal Intelligence
