Abstract

Muslim society perception of gender issues are influenced and constructed based on their religious understanding. Oftentimes, controversy arises because of difference in perspective regarding the discussion. One of factual problem that is often questioned is the discourse about women's participation in the sport. Therefore this paper was made by making the above polemic as an academic problem that was answered based on the epistemological fundamental of the hadith, specifically using the Fazlur Rahman’s hermeneutic method of Hadith. From the research that has been done it was found that Islam affirms sporting activity for women both the activity is carried out as an ordinary physical routine, and it is occupied as a field of work as a female athlete whose pioneering sport activity for self-career development. This validity is obtained by women with several prerequisites : 1). Comply with religious norms, decency, and other consideration such as medical procedure in their activity so as to avoid the emergence of adverse effect or loss-material and immaterial-to personal and other people. 2). Abstract

This article is talking about the contextual understanding of Hadith about women proposing toward men and how this phenomenon develops in the contemporary era. Islam requires that a proposing is done before marriage. The practice of proposing generally is held by men. However, in several locations, it is found that a proposing is committed by women. They are doing it because of their understanding of a hadith which explains that in Islam, a woman has the right to propose a man. On the other side, Islam does not regulate who must propose whether men or women. Even though, there is a hadith which tells that a woman offered her self to be married by a pious man. As an open and changed text, a hadith can be explained by many ways of interpretation. One of them is contextual understanding. Therefore, contextual understanding of woman proposing toward a man which is based on the hadith is allowed because the prophet did not give a legal decision and forbid it. Keywords: Hadith, Women Proposing, Contextual Understanding

Abstract

The majority of Muslim scholars have agreed that al- Qirā’āt al-Sab῾ or al- Qirā’āt al-‘Asyr is a ṣaḥῑḥah (valid) and acceptable qirā’āt. The variety in reading the Qur’an is believed to be part of al-Aḥruf al-Sab῾ah which was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In contrast to this view, Muḥammad Syaḥrūr had analysed various kinds of qirā’ah through contemporary reading. Syaḥrūr indicated that there was an error that occured when giving syakal and i῾rāb to the texts of al-Tanzῑl al-Ḥakῑm the HolyQur’an. He justified that the error was ocured due to human error which then contributed greatly to the emergence of different pronunciation in the future. This study examines the perspective of Syahrur towards qirā’āt, in which researcher have found that Syaḥrūr’s perspective about qirā’āt is only assumption with lack of scientific evidence. Syaḥrūr has missed several aspects within his study towards parts of qirā’ah, for example the strict sanad lines through the history of a qirā’ah which was obtained through analytic descriptive and historical methods. There is also found that Syaḥrūr’s opinion was influenced by perspective of Western scholars (orientalists) who also doubted the authenticity of qirā’āt, even though he did not explain this.Keywords: Muhammad Shahrur, qira’at, al-ahruf al-sab῾ah, shakl.

Abstract

Sexual has the meaning of the case relating to intercourse between men and women. Talking about sex is a taboo subject, but the Quran as a holy book talks about it. For this reason, this research will focus on discussing sexual issues discussed in the Quran. This research method uses qualitative technical-library research with a thematic interpretation approach (mawdu‘i). The results of this study conclude that: First, Halal sex can be mapped into six redaction: Rafath means sex because it is identical with dirty things; Mubasharah means sex because of meeting the skin; Qaraba means sex because it is so close; Taghaththa> means coming to have sex; Nikah means sex permisible with Sha>ri’; Dukhul means sex because it includes the male genitalia in the female genitalia for husband and wife. Secondly forbidden sex, al-Qur’an uses the bigha redaction, it is meaning coercion to women to become Prostitute; al-musafihat prostitute women in the context of accusations; Muttakhidat akhdan means mistress; Fahishah means immorality (sex); Zina means unlawful sexual (free sex). Keyword: Sex, Tafsir, Thematics

Abstract

In the discussion forum, of course, there is the variability of arguments from various parties in order to get the objectives to be achieved. There is a discussion that ends sweetly with a good solution, there is also a discussion that ends with a dispute that causes hostility. Therefore, in a discussion, a code of ethics is needed for a conducive and constructive atmosphere of discussion. This paper will introduce how the ethics of discussion summarized in the Koran. By using the thematic method, it was concluded that there were at least seven ethical discussions in the perspective of the Qur'an, namely; sincere and true intentions, pay attention and listen well to the other person, armed with knowledge and strong-accurate argumentation, using clear-straightforward and gentle rhetoric, being fair and objective, being cooperative and being ready to return to the truth, and avoiding a nagging attitude - do not want to budge and want to win alone. With this ethic, it is expected that the hostility raised in the discussion can be avoided and the purpose of the discussion created is to create an atmosphere of intimacy and mutual understanding. Keyword: Discussion, Ethics, Qur'an, Thematic Interpretations

Abstract

This study aims to examine the epistemology of the tadabbur al-Qur’an by Bahctiar Nasir. This book can be said as the only work Ulama’ of Indonesian. The tadabbur al-Qur'an is almost rarely found in the works of Ulama and al-Qur’an experts, both classical and modern, the scholars more often use the term tafsir, whereas many are found in the text of the Quran is a command to “reflection” not interpret. This research is a library research and field research with a descriptive-analytical method to reveal the epistemology of tadabbur al-Qur’an by Bachtiar Nasir. The conclusions of this study, namely: first, the concept of tadabbur al-Qur’an by Bachtiar Nasir is not much different from the books of commentary in general, the difference is only the addition of reflection or tadabbur at the end of each interpretation of the verse. This tadabbur al-Qur’an book when referring to the 10 steps of the tadabbur concept cannot be categorized as a tadabbur al-Qur’an book because both the content and the systematic writing are not much different from other interpretations. Keyword: Reflection, Bachtiar Nasir, Tafsir, Epsitemology
