Abstract

Conceptually, archival exhibition is not a part of core functions of an archival organization. However, it could give an enormous benefit for the community when it could transform archives from just a source of information into a source of knowledge. This study elaborates principles and ideal stages that should be conducted by archival institution in organizing archival exhibitions so that it could give knowledge to the audiences. It focuses on a proper achival management approach in conducting archival exhibition rather than other aspects such as design or estetique.

Abstract

Archives can be said to be "inanimate" if we look it from the physical side. On the other hand, archives can be said to be "a living thing" if we look it in terms of the information that is contained in. Archives can explain anywhere, anytime and any purpose, because archives have evidential value, informational value and intrinsic value. In short, archives is a source of knowledge if we look it through academic view point. Archives in relation to the Japanese occupation in Indonesia is very limited.Nowadays, the study related to the Japanese occupation in Indonesia is also decrease. However, the study about the Japanese occupation in Indonesia in the 80s was massive and varied. Nishijima Collection is one of the valuable sources of knowledge related to the Japanese occupation in Indonesia. Unfortunately, many people do not use the collection as source for their Indonesian study. The result of this study provides a new perspective on the materials related with the Japanese occupation in Indonesia contained in Nishijima Collection. Intellectual network was formed through Nishijima Collection. Eventually, the study about Nishijima Collection through the historical method can be an initial foundation to raise the historical awareness that will be able to affect the civilization (of Indonesia).

Abstract

The Village Archives Program (Arsip Masuk Desa/AMD) is a program launched by ANRI since 2009. The objective of AMD Program is to increase the role of archives in administering village government administration in order to improve services to the village community. AMD Program targets are the increasing quality of archival management in village government in accordance with archival rules and legislation.Archival courses presented in the AMD Program includes the Making of Official Scripts, Letters Management, Arrangement and Use of Archives, and Disposal of Archives. The scope that became the object of AMD is the archive created in the Village Government, Village Consultative Board (Badan Permusyawaratan Desa/BPD), and Kelurahan. The obstacles faced in the implementation of the AMD Program stem from the inequalities of potential, conditions, and resources, including village-to-village gaps in the areas of budget and human resources, and socio-cultural differences. Alternative solutions that can be implemented in the implementation of the AMD Program include the formulation of a clear concept, mapping the condition and resources of the village, as well as the preparation of human resources and budget.

Abstract

Events reforms brought major changes in the history of the Indonesian nation can be used as a learning process. Studying the past can be a learning process. History will be more effective as a learning process where not only read but studied and researched. UGM as universities struggle born in the midst of a revolution becomes part of the Indonesian nation struggles tool. UGM called to participate in the reform movement during the struggle. Research based on Arsip UGM Archives can be described what happened reform movement in the UGM; elements that are involved in it (student, lecture, UGM institutions and UGM units, and employees); and forms of reform activities like demonstrations, research, organization of scientific forums, statement, recommendations, and media announcement.
