Abstract

Betta fish is a fish that has a high economic value, Market demand always increasing. However, to get high Quality betta fish, efforts are still needed by importing from Singapore and Thailand so that a sustainable betta fish hatchery business is needed. To develop this betta fish hatchery business, the first thing that must be considered is the value of fecundity. Fecundity plays an important role in supporting the success of fish growth. This study aims to determine the relationship between the length and weight of betta fish broodstock to the value of fecundity as an effort to develop in the field of aquaculture, especially at the hatchery stage. The method used in this research is Descriptive method which is then analyzed using linear regression, namely the relationship between length and weight on the fecundity of betta fish. The data is presented in the form of tables and graphs which are then analyzed descriptively to draw conclusions from the resulting data. In this study, 30 brood betta fish were used with body weights ranging from 1.39 to 1.73gr and lengths of 4.5 to 5.2cm and the resulting fecundity ranged from 166 to 366 eggs. The results showed that fecundity had a close relationship with fish body weight where the correlation coefficient (r) was 0.9653 and the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.9319. While the long relationship with fecundity has a moderate relationship where the correlation coefficient (r) obtained is 0.4079 and the coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.1664. This indicates that fish weight is better used to estimate the value of fish fecundity than body length. Keyword: Betta fish, Fecundity, Body weight, Body length

Abstract

Nannochloropsis oculata is a microalgae that acts as a natural food source in fisheries. The need for N. oculata can be met through progressive culture starting from laboratory scale culture to provide inoculant stock to mass culture using concrete tubs. The culture of N. oculata begins with the preparation and sterilization of culture media and equipment, fertilizer production, microalgae culture starting from the laboratory scale, intermediate scale, and mass scale, observing the density of microalgae and water quality. The lag phase of N. oculata occurs on the first and second days, the exponential growth phase lasts for four days, followed by a stationary phase that occurs on the seventh day. Peak population density of  N. oculata on all culture scales occurred on day 6 with culture density in glass containers 14.58x106 cells/mL, carboy culture 11.6x106 cells/mL, intermediate culture 5.1x106 cells/mL, and mass culture 9.85 x106 cells/mL. The growth rate of microalgae N. oculata from the beginning of growth to day 6 was highest on the intermediate scale. The size of the container and the different composition of fertilizer at each culture scale caused differences in the peak population density and growth rate of N. oculata. Production of  N. oculata can be carried out in bulk while still paying attention to every stage of culture preparation and microalgae culture activities as a standard operating procedure for microalgae culture to prevent contamination. Abstract

One of the factors in aquaculture activities that affect the production and growth process of mud crab is molting. Several techniques have been developed to accelerate the molting of mud crabs, namely ablation, mutilation, and supplementation. One form of supplementation is through the use of fermented mulberry leaves in mud crab feed. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the effect of adding fermented mulberry leaves (Morus spp.) in feed to stimulate the molting of mud crabs (S. serrata). This research was carried out in traditional ponds in Bugis Village, Sape District, Bima Regency, for 60 days. The method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and three replications, namely control treatment/trash fish (P1), 20% Mulberry Leaf Fermentation (P2), 25% (P3), 30% (P4), and 40% (P5). Research parameters comprise frequency and percentage of molting, absolute growth, specific growth rate, feed utilization efficiency, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, and water quality. The results showed that the combination test feed of fermented mulberry leaf (Morus spp.) in the mud crab (S. serrata) diet did not affect all the parameters measured. The provision of mangrove crab feed formulation with a concentration of 25% mulberry leaf fermentation (P3) and control treatment (P1) gave a faster initial molting, which was the first 10 days of the rearing period with the highest average frequency and percentage of molting of 37 and 41%, respectively.

Abstract

The high consumer interest in ornamental fish such as goldfish causes aquaculture to try to meet the highest production so that large scale aquaculture activities appear accompanied by problems due to imbalances between the host, the environment and diseases such as pathogens. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving Whole Cell Lernaea as an immunostimulant development material as an effort to prevent pathogen attacks in aquaculture. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factorial pattern, namely factor A was different doses of Whole cell Lernaea and factor B was different length of maintenance. The results showed that the highest blood glucose levels of goldfish occurred in the 0 ppm treatment on day 0 with a range between 53.60-87.60 mg/dL and the lowest in the 5 ppm treatment on day 21 with a range between 44.20-86.60 mg/dL. Ichthyobodo spp. ectoparasite infestation. occurred on days 0 and 14 with a dose of 0 ppm which is about 2-3 ind/head different from giving a dose of 5 ppm during maintenance for 21 days there were no cases of goldfish that were attacked by ectoparasites. There was an interaction between dose and duration of maintenance on blood glucose levels of goldfish given Whole cell lernaea suspension, while there was no interaction with flagella ectoparasite infestation. The best treatment to reduce blood glucose levels to normal is the administration of Whole Cell Lernaea suspension at a dose of 5 ppm and a maintenance time of 21 days.

Abstract

The comparison of the concentration of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed is estimated to affect the total bacteria and yeast during the kombucha production process. The carbohydrate content in seaweed can be one of the factors for the formation of nata as a parameter for the success of making kombucha, as well as its effect on nutrition for bacterial and yeast growth. This study aims to determine the effect of comparing the concentration of seaweed on the total bacteria and yeast kombucha Kappaphycus alvarezii. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) with six treatments and 4 replications. The results of this study indicate that the comparison of the concentration of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed affects the total bacteria and yeast during the kombucha making process. The total bacteria test showed that the total bacteria increased until the 3rd day and the highest total yield was found in the control treatment, which was 1,6x107 CFU/ml on the 3rd day. Then the total yeast also increased until the 3rd day and the highest yield was found in the control treatment of 2,3x107 CFU/ml.

Abstract

Betta fish (Betta splendens) has export and import potential. Several popular betta fish strains include halfmoon, crown tail, double tail, and placard. We used the observation method to observe four betta fish strains with five replications. The four fish strains were spawned and will be dissected to obtain the female betta fish's gonads. The parameters observed in this study were fecundity, egg diameter, fertility, and hatchability. This study's data analysis method was analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Duncan's multiple range test. Based on the findings of the observations, it is known that the results of betta fish spawning and gonadal dissection on these various betta fish strains show a significant difference in fish fecundity (P 0.05). However, no significant difference in egg diameter, fertility, or hatchability was observed (P > 0.05). Betta splendes strains differ in terms of fecundity, fertility, hatching rate, and egg size.

Abstract

The eel (Anguilla bicolor) is an economically significant but slow-growing fish. This research aims to determine the GR, SGR, feed efficiency, and FCR values of Anguilla bicolor fed supplemental bromealin feed. The method employed was a completely randomized design (CRD), which was analyzed using an ANOVA with a 95% confidence level and subsequently evaluated by Duncan (DMRT). Enzymes derived from pineapple have a significant impact on feed conversion ratio and feed efficiency. However, neither the GR nor SGR parameters exhibited a significant change. P4 with GR 0.38 0.03 g/day, SGR 0.95 0.03%/day, FCR 1.97 0.15, and EPP 50.9 4, or 17%, was the most effective treatment in this study.
