Abstract

Energy audit is one way to plan for optimizing the supply and use of energyneeded by the industry. Portrait of the use of electrical energy used in textileindustry supplied from PT.PLN (Persero) with the power contract for 23000 kVAand POJ Power (Mini Hydro Power Plant, Jatiluhur) with installed capacity of5800 kVA. Especially for electric energy supplied from POJ Power, status ofelectricity continues to be a contract with the manager of POJ Power Jatiluhur.Based on the results of measurement of power quality with PQA Hioki 3197 is asdescribed in the previous section, it can be seen that: (a) Voltage magnitude atsome of the panel is high (about 250 V), (b) The power factor is very low, (c)Generally, voltage and current THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) is very high.Kata kunci: energi, listrik, penghematan, filter harmonik, faktor daya

Abstract

An analysis of identifying a derivative product of liquefied coal modelhydroprocessing was conducted. For that purpose, an integration gaschromatography flame ionization-nitrogen phosphorous detector and massspectrometry (GC-FID/NPD/MS) was used. Hydroprocessing process wasperformed by vibrating micro autoclave tipe batch using Ni-W/Alumina catalystunder initial hydrogen pressure 6 MPa, reaction temperature 375oC and one hourretention time. The analysis result showed that the predominant reaction werehydrogenation, hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) and hydrodeoxygenation (HDO).The HDO of methyl phenol and ethyl phenol took place faster than the otherhydroprocessing reactions such as HDN of quinoline and aromatic hydrogenation(butyl benzene, naphthalene, phenanthrene dan pyrene). This indicates that thehydrogenation reaction or the cleavage of C-O bonding took place very fast thatalkyl could not be detected in the oil. The HDN reaction or the cleavage of C-Ntook place slower but the the nitrogen containing compound vanished faster dueto selective adsorption of the catalyst. However the hydrogenation reaction ofmono-aromatic took place faster than poly-aromaticKata kunci: gas chromatography, identifikasi senyawa, model minyak sintetis

Abstract

Fuel atomization plays a main role in determining the performance of dieselengines, where the spray pattern illustrates fuel combustion occurs in thecombustion chamber. From fuel spray test results showed that fuel evaporationcharacteristics of fuel at a certain pressure will effect on engine performance. The higher the injection pressure will reduce the diameter of the fuel sprays(sauter mean diameter), thus speeding up evaporation and mixing processesbetween fuel and air in the combustion chamber with resulted the combustionprocess is more completely. Analysis of fuel atomization simulations performedat injection pressure 150, 180 and 235 bar on the distribution of size, temperature and concentration of air+fuel mixture. Physical chemical parametersresulting are the size and temperature distribution patterns fuel+air mixturesprays. DME is feasible to be used as alternative fuel in diesel engines by adding2–5% lubricant additives. The use of diesel+DME 50/50 mixed fuel provides thelowest fuel consumption by generating power of 3x2,975 watts.Kata kunci: kinerja mesin, solar, DME, simulasi atomisasi, dinamika fluida

Abstract

All this time, PT Natcham’s gasifier only be used for synthetic gas production asfuel of 400 kW gas engine power generation for the mushroom industry’selectricity needs while energy crisis. From now on, the application anddevelopment of biomass gasification technology is focused on synthetic gasproduction to be processed furthermore from gas to liquid (GTL) throughFischer–Tropsch synthesis process. H2+CO contained in syngas product is low(average 20% of total producer gas) with H2/CO ratio = 0.30–0,35. Producedsynthetic gas composition more and less equal to the design maker of Peako –China that is feasible to be utilized as fuel for 400 kW gas engine powergeneration, but not meet yet specification requirements of syngas composition asgas feeding for Fischer–Tropsch synthesis process (Gas–To–Liquid, GTL).Installation of O2 and steam injection system inside gasifier necessary to improvesyngas quality, all at once N2 content decreasing in the syngas, with the result ofH2/CO ratio >1 that will improve liquid product.Kata kunci: fixed–bed gasifier, gasification, rice husk, synthetic gas

Abstract

A downdraft kiln using LPG as energy source with capacity 1 m3 and maximumfiring temperature 13000C has been constructed and midified to give better heatdistribution. For firing ceramic process, most of Balinese and Lombok craftsmenuse firewood as energy source. This method is inefficient from the production rate.Point of view, downdraft kiln can help the craftsmen to process ceramic easier, faster and cheaper. Downdraft kiln using LPG has been selected as an alternativekiln due to minimum pollutant produced compare with updraft kiln using coal orfirewood. The kiln constructed has fulfilled the requirement of kiln firing processquality in which the firing causes sintering process in the ceramics body. The kilnwith a capacity of 1m3 can reach a maximum firing temperature which of 13000C.To test this modified kiln, some carved ceramic has burned into the kiln. Carvedceramic has been chosen caused by need more good heat distribution than otherceramic design product and have differ thickennes in all bodies. The final productgive a better product whithout defect compare to product burned into unmodifiedkilnKata kunci: tungku hemat energi, keramik ukir, stoneware

Abstract

Heteroatom-containing species in the coal liquid oils (CLO) were identified andquantified by the aid of gas chromatography with atomic emission detector (GCAED).Four different CLOs from different rank coals, processes and cut pointswere investigated in the present study. Thiophene and its derivatives werefound to be the major sulfur compounds, pyridines and anilines, and phenolswere the major nitrogen and oxygen compounds, respectively in the oils ofboiling range < 300 ℃. An oil of boiling range (300 – 420℃) carried moredimethyldibenzothiophenes and benzoquinolines. The correlation between feedcoal and liquid product was discussed in terms of the compositions ofheteroatomic compounds.Kata kunci: coal liquid oil, heteroatomic compounds, GC-AED
