Sedimentation is a natural process which is materialized in the river. It is made happen by the erosion processes and also often because of illegal logging in upstream . Segara Anakan is situated in central Java and is one of the largest lagoon in the world which experiences sedimentation year by year and at present the rest of the watery lagoon is not more than 600 ha. The environment has been being changed. Some of water area conversed to be the land naturally, and it is predicted that the specific biota like eel fish will be vanished. The lagoon cannot be protected anymore from the natural sedimentation processes. Adaptation to this change should, therefore, be made to convert the status quo land - called as land colmatation - to be the more economic activities for the people.

The application of artificial reef technology has been done on Abang Island, Batam were conducted on Juni-October 2007. The research objectives are to enhance the fish population and rehabilitate marine environment in Abang island waters. The activities are particularly in assessment site selection survey for development the artificial reef, contruction and deployment of 10 unit the artificial reef at the selected sites. Parameter measured were: bathymetri, water quality aspects, current and sedimentation. The results of the assessment for marine environment condition have seen the water qualities such as temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen in the normal condition and they conduct as not as unlimited factors for artificial reef program. In other hand, the assessment of sea bed morphology have seen homogen marine topography with slope slightly, the dominant of sediment seabed is sandy beach. The deployment sites have to be selected at 3 positions are surrounded 0o 30’28.47” N ; 104o 16’ 5.55” E, range 20-25 meter and calm waters (low current flows).

‘Embung’ Sirani, located 10 km from the capital city of Belu District, East Nusa Tenggara Province, is the biggest of the 27 ‘embungs’ in this area. The ‘embung’ has 211.2 of watershed area, 20 m of water depth and 1.860.000 m3 of water storage capacity to irigate rice field. To promote the unic and strategic ‘embung’ as an ecotorism object, an ecohydrologic study was conducted in 2008. Ecotourism objects which can be developed around the Sirani ‘embung’ in Belu Districts are the lake tourism, canoe ride around the ‘embung’; agro-tourism of horticulture plant and fishing pond at the ‘embung’ downstream; and agroforestry-tourism at the watershed area. ‘Embung’ ecotourism as an integrated conservation by participation of the local people is needed to develop.

Along with increase in population and economic growth inTasikmalaya Residence cause the need of water is increased too.The majority these need take from groundwater resources.Occurrence groundwater resources depends on many factor likelandform (landscapes), geology, precipitation, land use, etc.Resistivity geoelectric survey (method) can detect groundwaterresources occurrence. The goals of this survey is to predict geometryand distribution of groundwater reservoir (aquifer). This survey useresisitivity method with Schumblerger Configuration. Generally, underground condition of Tamansari area consist of 4 layers oflithology i.e. pebbly sandstone, sandstone, clayey sandstone andsandy claystone. Sandstones have good potential as aquifer.Sandstone layer is evenly distributed in Tamansari area at depthbetween 1 m – 10 m. For shallow groundwater resources exploitationshould be directed at south east and south west part of Tamansariarea; while for deep groundwater resources exploitation can directedanywhere at depth more than 100 m.

Water is a component in the earth that is very important for human life. Theavailability of water is always wanted to meet a demand of water supply, such as for drinking water, washing, taking a bath, and etc. Along withpopulation growth, so the need of water will be still increasing, includingTanah Datar. In this paper will be described concerning to characteristics, and condition of water in Tanah Datar Area, West Sumatera Province, especially Telaga Banta. This location occupies geographically between thelatitude of 00o17’ and 00o39’ south and the longitude of 100o19’ and 100o51’east Based on survey in field, condition of aquifer in Telaga Banta is locatedin 20 – 60 meter depth, and the result of laboratory points to that the qualityof water in this area meets the requirement for drinking water.
