Abstract

Sungkai (Peronema canescens Jack.) is a plant native to Indonesia that is traditionally used for dehumidifiers, treating malaria and increasing endurance. This study aims to isolate the compounds in the ethyl acetate extract of sungkai leaves and test the immunomodulatory activity of these compounds. Sungkai leaves were carried out stratified maceration using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and methanol solvents, then phytochemical screening of ethyl acetate extract of sungkai leaves, followed by an isolation process using the KVC method and isolates were obtained on F3. Phytochemical screening of F3 isolates contains steroid compounds. Immunomodulatory activity tests showed that in EEADS 50 mg/Kgbb, 150 mg/Kgbb, 450 mg/Kgbb, K+ and isolates there was an increase in the number of leukocytes and % macrophage activity compared to K-. The EEADS treatment of 50 mg/Kgbb, 150 mg/Kgbb and isolates of 0.7 mg/Kgbb did not differ markedly from K- but differed markedly from the EEADS treatment of 450 mg/Kgbb and K+. At a dose of 450 mg/Kgbb there was an increase in leukocytes and the highest % macrophage activity which was almost close to K+ (Imboost 0.7 mg/Kgbb). The UV-Vis spectrum of the F3 isolate shows a maximum absorption peak at 267 nm indicating the presence of a nonconjugation double bond. The FTIR spectrum shows isolates have groups O-H (3381.13cm-1), aliphatic C-H (2939.10cm-1), C=C (1631.44cm-1), C-H (1449.42-1362.82cm-1), and C-O (1022.32cm-1). Based on the literature comparison, the pattern of the UV-Vis spectrum and FTIR of F3 isolates has similarities with the UV-Vis and FTIR spectrum of steroid group compounds, namely β-Sitosterol.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar antosianin pada jagung lokal Gorontalo varietas Binthe Kiki, Binthe Momala, dan Binthe Pulo. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan teknik ekstraksi dan pengukuran antosianin menggunakan metode pH diferensial pada panjang gelombang 530 nm dan 700 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketiga varietas mengandung antosianin dengan kadar yang bervariasi, yaitu Binthe Kiki sebesar 9,00 ppm, Binthe Momala sebesar 3,77 ppm, dan Binthe Pulo sebesar 3,13 ppm. Kandungan antosianin tertinggi ditemukan pada varietas Binthe Kiki, yang ditandai dengan warna biji orange. Perbedaan kadar antosianin antar varietas dipengaruhi oleh faktor genetik, warna biji, dan kondisi lingkungan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa jagung lokal Gorontalo, khususnya varietas Binthe Kiki, berpotensi sebagai sumber pewarna alami sekaligus antioksidan bagi kesehatan manusia.

Abstract

Caspase-3 merupakan enzim protease yang berperan dalam proses apoptosis, dan menjadi target senyawa metabolit dalam menghambat pertumbuhan sel kanker. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui sifat kemiripan obat metabolit sekunder hasil produksi Streptomyces carpaticus yang diperoleh berdasarkan analisis klaster gen biosintesis pada program antiSMASH version 7.1.0, mengetahui hasil prediksi mutagenicity dan toxicity serta mengetahui hasil interaksi metabolit sekunder dengan protein Caspase-3 yang merupakan reseptor terkait sel kanker leukemia menggunakan molecular docking. Hasil analisis kemiripan obat dan prediksi ADME menunjukkan bahwa ketiga metabolit memenuhi aturan Lipinski Rule of Five dan memiliki kemiripan dengan obat. Ketiga metabolit tergolong pada Toxicity Class 5, dan memiliki sifat mutagenic inactive dengan probability Pristinol: 0.93, Raimonol: 0.91 dan Cyslabdan: 0.80 dan toxicity inactive dengan probability Pristinol: 0.75, Raimonol: 0.94 dan Cyslabdan: 0.76. Hasil studi molecular docking, analisis dan validasi situs ikatan dengan protokol penambatan ulang (redocking) ligan standar 5-[4-(1-carboxymethyl-2-OXO-propylcarbamoyl)-benzylsulfamoyl]-2-Hydroxy-Benzoic Acid memiliki nilai RMSD yaitu 0.000. Energi ikatan bebas masing-masing ligan yaitu sebesar -8,9 kkal/mol -9.2 kkal/mol, -7.0 kkal/mol, -7.1 kkal/mol, dan -7.0 kkal/mol. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa energi ikatan hasil penambatan metabolit sekunder dengan protein Caspase-3 yang paling baik adalah metabolit cyslabdan dengan nilai ikatan bebas -7.4 kkal/mol dan jumlah interaksi 12.

Abstract

Sedimen merupakan bahan organik dan anorganik yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas air. Sedimen biasanya mengandung Fosfor dan Nitrogen. Fosfor dan Nitrogen merupakan unsur hara makro yang diperlukan dalam proses pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan fosfor (P) dan nitrogen (N) pada sedimen danau limboto maupun pupuk organik yang dibuat serta pengaruh pupuk organik terhadap tanaman kangkung darat. Analisis kandungan fosfor (P) menggunakan metode Spektrofotometer Uv-Vis. Sementara untuk kandungan nitrogen (N) menggunakan metode kjedhal. Untuk pengaplikasiannya dilakukan pada tanaman kangkung darat. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa pada 3 sampel sedimen danau limboto untuk kandungan fosfor (P) dan Nitrogen (N) tergolong sangat tinggi. Kandungan fosfor (P) masing-masing sebesar titik 1= 0,48%, titik 2 = 0,45%, titik 3 = 0,44% dan kandungan nitrogen (N) sebesar titik 1= 12,35%, titik 2 = 13,7%, titik 3 = 17,85%. Sementara itu, pupuk organik yang dibuat, kualitas fisiknya memenuhi standar yaitu berwarna coklat kehitaman, berbau tanah dan teksturnya tidak menggumpal. Untuk hasil uji kadar fosfor (P) dan nitrogen (N) pada pupuk organik diperoleh masing-masing sebesar 22,675% dan 1,76%. Pada pengaplikasian pupuk organik, Tanaman kangkung darat mengalami perkembangan dalam setiap minggu setelah tanam (mst) baik tinggi maupun jumlah daunnya.

Abstract

Every day our bodies produce free radicals and every organism has a natural defense system to reduce free radicals. In a healthy state the amount of antioxidants in the body can balancing the amount of free radicals. However, in certain circumstances it can interfere with the body's defense against free radicals. This situation underlies the occurrence of various diseases caused by radicals, one of which is non-communicable (degenerative) diseases. Many therapies are available for the treatment of diabetes, do not completely cure the disease but cause many side effects. Namnam plant is predict to have the ability as an anti-diabetic agent. The purpose of this study was to determine the in vitro bioactivity of Namnam leaves extract against antidiabetic. This research conducted extraction, phytochemical test, total phenol test, total flavonoid test, and in vitro -glucosidase enzyme inhibition test as an antidiabetic. The results of the study showed that the ethanol extract produced secondary metabolites, namely flavonoids and steroids. The results of the α-glucosidase inhibition test resulted in an IC50 value of 30,89 ppm. The comparison that has been used is acarbose which produces IC50 of 0.22 ppm. Ethanol extract and ethyl acetate extract have inhibitory ability due to the presence of flavonoid and steroid compounds contained in the extract

Abstract

All throughout the world, turmeric has attracted the interest of scientists and medical specialists. The goal of this study was to pinpoint turmeric methanol extract's immediate proximate and anti-inflammatory activities. A spectrophotometric approach was used to choose the phytochemical screens (both qualitative and quantitative). The recent approach (standard method) was used to research the anti-inflammatory effects and proximate components of turmeric. The qualitative phytochemical screening revealed a substantial amount of turbid alkaloid (++) but no steroid (-). Phenol (151.34±1.01 mg/100g) had the highest concentration (5.83%), while flavonoid (22.30±0.62 mg/100g) had the lowest (5.83%), according to the quantitative screening. The anti-inflammatory activity of the turmeric methanol extract in the treated groups (150, 300, and 600 mg/kg body weight) and the positive control group demonstrated a valuable value (inhibitory values). Paw thickness was also significantly different (reduced) between the 600 mg/kg and positive control groups promising anti-inflammatory effects. These findings demonstrated that inflammation can be treated using turmeric's anti-inflammatory and adjuvant capabilities.

Abstract

Polysaccharides have been used in the food business for a variety of beneficial purposes over the years. The food and beverage businesses must satisfy customer demands while using natural components that perform their technological functions in processed foods. This puts them in increasingly difficult situations. Polysaccharides have numerous useful food uses as stabilizers, thickening agents, and emulsifiers that could be used as additives in the relevant food sectors. In the context of food industry innovation, this review discusses understanding regarding the functions and uses of polysaccharide gums.

Abstract

FT-IR spectrum analysis of sago bark waste extract (Metroxylon sagu Rottb L.) which was extracted using deep eutectic solvents (DES) Choline Chloride-Oxalic Acid (Oxaline) has been conducted. DES synthesis was carried out by stirring a number of constituent masses according to the molar ratio at 600 rpm while heating at 60°C. The variation in the molar ratio of DES Oxaline constituents applied were 1:1; 1:1.5; 1:2 and 1:4. Extraction of sago bark waste was carried out by 30 minutes sonication of sago bark waste powder with DES Oxaline solvent at 50W. The sonication results were then centrifuged at 4000 rpm for 35 minutes. The residue was obtained from centrifuge filtration using 1μm filter paper. The synthesized DES Oxaline and its residues were analyzed using FT-IR spectrometry. DES Oxaline which was successfully synthesized were molar ratios of 1:1; 1:1.5 and 1:2. The yield of sago bark waste extracted were 66%; 66% and 62% for 1:1 molar ratio; 1:1.5 and 1:2 respectively. FT-IR spectrum analysis showed that the functional groups of Choline Chloride and Oxalic Acid are depicted in the IR spectrum of Oxaline DES. The residue spectrum analysis stated that the majority of functional groups were representative of lignin.
