Abstract

Duration of the active phase, first stage is 301, 67 minutes (5 hours), prolonged labor if labor lasts more than 24 hours or cervical dilatation is on the alert line of active labor (partograph) and unborn baby. The results found that hypnobirthing was significantly associated with the average length of labor in the hypnosis group (mean difference -165.20, 95% CI -223.53 to 106.87). The main objective of this study was to analisys correlation of hypnobirting with the duration of labour of the active phase, first stage. This study was a quasi-experimental research with post test only with control design and data analysis using independent t test. Result : The mean ± SD length of the active-phase, first stage was shorter (146  60 minute) among intervention grup than that of control grup (265 minuts  90 minute ). Hypnobirthing had significant correlation with duration of labour (P value 0,000= P< 0.05). Hypnobirthing can be used as a complementary therapy to increase comfort and duration of labor.

Abstract

Ineffective handovers are often at high risk for patient safety. Other problems caused by improper handovers include delays in medical diagnosis, and increased health care costs and patient dissatisfaction. Supervision of SBAR communication (Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation) is an effective way to maintain patient safety and reduce the occurrence of errors caused by communication. This study aimed to identify the effect of supervision on SBAR communication on the quality of patient handovers in the inpatient room. Design research was a pre-experimental design of one group pre post test design, were 34 nurses in two inpatient rooms taken in total sampling. The SBAR supervision was carried out by the Head of the Room to the nurses during the handover. Before the supervision of nurses' handover quality was observed, then the socialization of SBAR communication and supervision by the head of the room were then given post-supervision observation. The instruments used a patient handover observation sheet and supervision manual. The results showed that most of the female respondents had D3 nursing education and half of the respondents had a working period of

Abstract

The Revised Trauma Score (RTS) is a predictor of moderate mortality in head injury clients. To increase it by changing the respiratory rate (RR) component in RTS with other respiration components that have the potential to have a higher correlation to the mortality of head injury clients. The aim of this study was to analyze differences in RR accuracy and oxygen saturation (SpO2) as predictors of mortality in head injury clients. This study is an observational analytic study with a cohort retrospective study approach, conducted at the hospital. Dr. Iskak Tulungagung. The population is a head injury client medical record for the period January to December 2017, with a purposive sampling technique which obtained a sample of 150 respondents. Data analysis using the Mann-Whitney test, logistic regression, and ROC Curve comparison. The results, the variables RR and SpO2 have a significant relationship with the mortality of head injury clients(p value = 0.000). Logistic regression test results, RR equation has sensitivity = 0.792 (79.2%), specificity= 0.7333 (73.33%), Positive Predictive Value (PPV) = 0.922 (92.2%), and Negative Predictive Value (NPV) = 0.468 (46.8 %). The SpO2 equation has sensitivity = 0.907 (90.7%), specificity = 0.881 (88.1%), PPV= 0.951 (95.1%), and NPV = 0.787 (78.7%). The results of a comparison analysis of the ROC curve, concluded that ROC SpO2 (AUC = 0.930) was better than ROC RR (AUC = 0.729). Oxygen saturation is a better predictor of mortality of head injury clients than RR.

Abstract

Wound is a condition of damage to the anatomical structure of the skin causing skin disorders (Moenadjat, 2003). There are three phases in the wound healing process. These phases are the inflammatory, proliferative and maturation phases. Ginger has several active substances. The several active substances contained in ginger, namely triterpenoids, flavonoids and saponins. Flavonoid compounds has a role in activating macrophages. Saponins are able to activate TGF-β signals. The aim of this research was to analyze the effect of ginger extract to the density of collagen fibers in rats (Rattus norvegicus) with incision wounds. This study was an experimental research laboratory, with a post-test only control group design. Rats were divided into two major groups: control group (KK) who were given only the solvent CMC 1% and the treatment group (KP) were given orally at a dose of ginger extract 1 g / kg. Rat tissue will be observed on days 1, 5 and 10. Data were analyzed by one-way ANOVA test with p value 0.125. The conclusion of this study is there was no significant difference in collagen density between the control and treatment groups. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the giving of ginger (Zingiber officinale roscoe) can increase the density of incisional collagen even though it has insignificant differences

Abstract

The use of plants as a medicine is sometimes doubted in modern medicine because it is not considered to have sufficient evidence. Zingiber montanum or also known as bangle is a of the types in the family Zingiberaceae which is used as a medicine, but an in-depth study of secondary metabolites and their bioactivity is still limited. This article aims to reveal botany, secondary metabolites, and bioactivity Z. purpureum so that it can be used as a basis for its use and development as traditional medicine and modern medicine. Studies on articles are based on various literary sources obtained off line or online in the form of journals, books, which can be downloaded using keywords, Zingiber, Zingiber montanum, secondary metabolites and bioactivities of Z. montanum. Rhizoma Z. montamun produces flavors and can be used to replace ginger (Zingiber officinale). As a traditional medicine in Asia, Z. montanum is used as a carminative drug, a stimulant for the stomach, diarrhea, colic, and headaches. Based on the bioactivity test in vitro and in vivo Z. montanum has pharmacological effects as anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic and obesity.
