Abstract

Research in the affective game has received attention from the research communities over this lustrum. As a crucial aspect of a game, emotions play an important role in user experience as well as to emphasize the user’s emotions state on game design. This will improve the user’s interactivity while they playing the game. This research aims to discuss and analyze whether emotions can replace traditional user game inputs (keyboard, mouse, and others). The methodology used in this research is divided into two main phases: game design and facial expression recognition. The results of this research indicate that users preferred to use a traditional input such as mouse. Moreover, user’s interactivities with game are still slightly low. However, this is a great opportunity for researchers in affective game with a more interactive game play as well as rich and complex story. Hopefully this will improve the user affective state and emotions in game. The results of this research imply that happy emotion obtains 78% of detection, meanwhile the anger emotion has the lowest detection of 44.4%. Moreover, users prefer mouse and FER (face expression recognition) as the best input for this game.

Abstract

This study discusses specifically the encryption mechanism that maintains the integrity of the game data on online games. The purpose of this study is to implement symmetric key encryption and checksum for score calculation. There are two methods conducted in this study: analysis and design. The analysis method isperformed in two ways: analysis of existing systems and analysis of literature study. System design method used is prototyping. The results obtained are implemented on online game competition ‘Expedisi Indosat’ through Facebook from 3 – 30 July 2011. The implementation of symmetric key encryption mechanism and the checksum is useful to maintain data integrity on games especially the results score when the game is running and when there is data transmission from the client to the server.

Abstract

Puskemas as community health centers becomes one of the main focuses of development on the agenda of the Government of Indonesia beside education. Therefore, we purpose to develop an affordable online system of health care administration based on open source using cloud computing approach. It can be used for collecting data of patients, diseases, and treatment of patients at Puskesmas. The methods used are literature study related to cloud computing, survey design and data collection infrastructure of information technology thatcan be applied to online health services, analysis of survey data on actual conditions in some centers and other health care centers in Jakarta, then making model of online health services such as physician consulting, prescribing and disease diagnosis. The result is a web-based application system of health care administration of Puskesmas, which utilizes cloud computing technology and development architectures that are both modular and dynamic. The application model combines the benefits of open-source applications with a flexible design system. It also supports mobile devices to improve the quality of patient care. Web-based network structure allows both online and inter-section between institutions which can be accessed anytime, anywhere, through mobile devices.Development application model is also adapted to the function of the business processes and administrative processes that exist in Puskesmas throughout Indonesia. Each model is also expected to be integrated to optimize efficiency and has been adapted to the service system of Dinas Kesehatan and Health Ministery.

Abstract

The research aims to facilitate the implementation of the assessment of vocational school accreditation and to improve efficiency in accreditation assessment by developing a model of online information system and its database design. The assessment of vocational school accreditation covers eight aspects: content standards, process standards, competency standards, standards of educators and educational technicians, facility and infrastructure standards, management standards, financial standards and assessment standards. All activities aim to socialize the web-based information system model. It is a descriptive research method which creates a systematic and accurate description by seeking factual information on relevant agencies to detail and identifying issues or obtaining state of justification and assessments used in carrying out their duties. The result achieved is a model of information system database online accreditation for vocational high school to support the work of assessor.

Abstract

The lack of green computing governance model for environment of universities in Indonesia becomes one major factor to conduct this research. In fact, the teaching and learning activities in campuses depend on support of information system and information technology. Various studies on green computing were observed. However, the suitable model for green computing in the area of private university Indonesia has not been observed yet. Referring to Green ICT Framework by University of Michigan and Connection Research as well as green computing framework by Adcuent, the green computing model for private university in Indonesia was developed through this research. Although the research object was observed in Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Indonesia, it is adoptable for other private universities to evaluate their information system and information technology performance surround campuses. Green computing governance is part of information system and information technology strategic plan. Therefore, the management of university should fully concern towards this matter.

Abstract

E-learning is a media that used in order to help learning process. This paper aims to determine the components that support Binusmaya to become one of e-learning media. It also describes the benefits that can be provided by binusmaya as a learning media. Additionally, this paper analysis the constraints that must beconsidered in implementing Binusmaya so that it can give benefit optimally. Data and information used in this paper are obtained from several books, website, journal and questionnaires related with topic. The result from this paper is expected to provide information and knowledge about binusmaya as a learning media based elearning.

Abstract

Knowledge management is not a new concept but its use in the firm still holds a very important role. This paper aims to further introduce the concept of knowledge management, which in its implementation has so many benefits that can be gained, barriers that can interfere, and things that must be considered. From thebenefits and barriers of knowledge management’s implementation, we can analyze the future of knowledge management use. To support this paper, data and information are searched through some books, journals, and articles that related with topic. The result of this paper is a comprehension about knowledge management concept and its implementation to firm.

Abstract

Free form surface has a multiple complexity curve intrinsically, so that special approach is needed to form the structure. Geodesic shell is well-known as the shortest path between two points on a curved surface. This method is used to generate the structure of form, which can be easily determined by its basic shape or the complex form. This paper explains how Geodesic theory can assist to generate structures in the early stage of digital sketching. A workshop that has initially started becomes a topic to this discussion. The digital sketching process to apply the theory is the aim of this paper.

Abstract

The background of the research is that mobile phone based application growth is not as increasing as its education category for improving users’ entrepreneurial-interest, especially in fishpond. The goal of the research is designing an application as a digital game based education tool that can simulate fishpond to users. Output of the research is a mobile application that can deliver information of fishpond system as basic entrepreneurship knowledge to users. On the development phase, the research uses literature study and user requirement analysis. Conclusion of the research has shown that the developed application is based on multimedia and game and also can deliver basic information of fishpond to users such as preservation, purchasing, and selling. The application is developed with good-looking interface and easily-covered level of difficulty.

Abstract

Sorting is a basic algorithm studied by students of computer science major. Sorting algorithm is the basis of other algorithms such as searching algorithm, pattern matching algorithm. Bubble sort is a popular basic sorting algorithm due to its easiness to be implemented. Besides bubble sort, there is insertion sort. It is lesspopular than bubble sort because it has more difficult algorithm. This paper discusses about process time between insertion sort and bubble sort with two kinds of data. First is randomized data, and the second is data of descending list. Comparison of process time has been done in two kinds of programming language that is C programming language and FORTRAN programming language. The result shows that bubble sort needs more time than insertion sort does.
