Abstract

Romaita Newanti Lumban Raja & Alex Hartana. 2017. Morphologycal Variation of Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium) in North Sumatra. Floribunda 5(7): 258–266. — Andaliman plants (Zantoxylum acanthopodium DC.) found in North Sumatra, Indonesia, and known as seasoning plants  or 'merica Batak’  in Batak dishes. This study was conducted to explore the diversity of andaliman plants in North Sumatra.  27  andaliman plants collected and  analyzed  based on  their 24 morphological characters of stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds  using  unweighted pair group method with arithmatic average (UPGMA) and clustered  based on similarity for qualitative data (SIMQUAL) and coefficient simple matching, using NTSYS pc. 2.02 version. The phenetic analysis showed dendrograme of 27 andaliman plants in North Sumatra were clustered into 4 groups. The main characters differentiate each group are the color of young branches, thorns on leaf  midrib, the color of calyx, and the color of  fruit. The group I  and II in dendrograme refer  to local cultivar names ‘Simanuk’ and ‘Sihorbo’, while the group III and IV refer to ‘Silokot’ and ‘Sikoreng’ cultivars. An identification key for  the four andaliman cultivars is presented. Keywords: Andaliman, Character, Clustering, North Sumatra, Morphology, Zantoxylum acanthopodium.  Romaita Newanti Lumban Raja & Alex Hartana. 2017. Variasi Morfologi Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium) di Sumatra  Utara. Floribunda 5(7): 258–266.

Abstract

Ahmad Solikin, Amin Retnoningsih & Enni S. Rahayu. 2017. Characterization of Local Durian Accession Collected Hortimart Agro Centre, Central Java Using Molecular Markers Inter Simple Sequence Repeats (ISSR). Floribunda 5(7): 267–276. — The lack of morphological markers encourage the use of other markers that are considered more accurate, i.e molecular markers. The purpose of this study is to analyze the genetic diversity as well as determine the identity of the local durian accession collection of Hortimart Agro Centre, Central Java. Leaves of 41 durian accessions were isolated using CTAB method. DNA amplification was conducted with four primers of ISSR PKBT and the results were separated by agarose gel. Data were analyzed using NTSYSpc program version 2: 02. The results showed that DNA amplification using four primers of ISSR BKPT yielded 66 polymorphic bands. The results of the analysis showed that the genetic diversity of local durians of Hortimart collection is high because 100% of polymorphic DNA bands with variations of size 250–1500 bp. No local durian accession was found to have the same DNA100% profile, although four pairs of accessions were known to have a 96% high similarity. Five accessions, namely Petruk 2, Ontoseno, Semar, Arjuno, and Gondomono have specific DNA bands. The only accession of durian apart from the other group is Gondomono because it has only one band on ISSR PKBT 8 with size 750 bp which is not owned by other accession. However, dendrograms showed that no identities that are 100% equal so that eachDNA band profile can be the identity of each durian accession. Keywords: Durio zibethinus, molecular marker, genetic diversity.Ahmad Solikin, Amin Retnoningsih & Enni S. Rahayu. 2017. Karakterisasi Aksesi Durian Lokal Koleksi Hortimart Agro Centre Jawa Tengah Menggunakan Penanda Molekuler Inter Simple Sequence Repeats (ISSR). Floribunda 5(7): 267–276.

Floribunda 5(7): 227–238. —  The diversity of liverwort in Sumatra is neglected. Therefore this study aims to inventory the diversity of the genus Bazzania Gray(Marchantiophyta: Lepidoziaceae) in Gunung Leuser National Park-Sumatra. This genus is easily recognizedin the forest by the conspicuous Y-shaped dichotomous branching and  flagella on the ventral stem. Thisgenus was observed based on the bryophyte specimens collected in Gunung Leuser National Park (1417–2900 m asl). Thirteen species were reported from this area. Seven of which are previously known for TNGLand Sumatra, i.e. B. densa, B. erosa, B.indica, B. longicaulis, B. loricata, B. spiralis, B. vittata. Otherspecies, B. sumatrana, has been reported for Sumatra, but it is a new record for TNGL. The others twospecies are new records for Sumatra, B. horridula and B. oshimensis. The latest species is also newlyreported for Indonesia. The rest, B. adnexa, B. angustifolia f. paupera, B. fauriana, are new records forMalesian region.
