Abstract

Wind farm has been growing in recent years due to its very competitive electricity production cost. Wind generators have gone from a few kilowatts to megawatts. However, the participation of the wind turbine in the stability of the electricity grid is a critical point to check, knowing that the electricity grid is meshed, any change in active and reactive flux at the network level affects its stability. With a rate of 50% wind turbine penetration into the electricity grid, the stability of the rotor angle is a dynamic phenomenon which is only visible by the variation of the active energy. The purpose of this journal is to verify the impact of wind turbine integration on an electrical grid, by exploiting the relationship between the reactive energy produced by the Doubly Fed Induction Generator equipping most wind energy systems, and the stability of the rotor angle of the synchronous generators equipping the conventional power plants in the electrical system.

Abstract

This article presents some results of SEPIC converter dynamics when controlled by a center pulse width modulator controller (CPWM). The duty cycle is calculated using the ZAD (Zero Average Dynamics) technique. Results obtained using this technique show a great variety of non-linear phenomena such as bifurcations and chaos, as parameters associated with the switching surface. These phenomena have been studied in the present paper in numerical form. Simulations were done in MATLAB.

Abstract

The transition of software development from web to cloud has been accelerated. The development of cloud services requires a modeling method that reflects the characteristics of cloud including personalized service, resource sharing service, grouped and distributed services, and cross-platform operability. This study aimed to suggest a method of developing UML-based cloud services suitable for the characteristics of cloud services. A cloud service metamodel was defined using cloud applications’ characteristic modeling elements, and after that, how these cloud modeling elements are expressed into UML modeling elements was defined with an integrated metamodel between cloud and UML. By applying this hierarchical cloud metamodel, an MDA and MVC-based service-oriented cloud modeling process was established. By doing so, it will be possible to easily design services (applications) and solutions that are suitable for cloud computing environments, and in particular, to create hierarchical reuse models by the level of the abstraction of model-driven development.

Abstract

Electronic Integrated Antenatal Care (e-iANC) was built as a web-based application to assist midwives in recording Antenatal Care (ANC) data including Patient Registration; Anamnesis; Physical Examination; Laboratory Test, Screening of Risk Pregnancy; Communication, Information and Education; Treatment and follow-up; Patient Disposition. To ensure e-iANC becomes a safe system, security system testing was needed. Our goals were to test the security system by using the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP). It was conducted in computer laboratory at Universitas Esa Unggul Jakarta in August 2017. The OWASP detect include Injection, Broken Authentication and Session Management, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Insecure Direct Object References, Security Misconfiguration, Sensitive Data Exposure, Missing Level Access Control, Cross Site Request Forgery (CSRF), Using Known Vulnerable Components, Unvalidated Redirects and Forwards. The results indicated the risk level of e-iANC was the low category in the aspect of Cross-Domain JavaScript Source File Inclusion, Private IP Disclosure, XSS Protection Not Enabled Web Browser.

Abstract

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been studied for more than a decades that resulted in evolution of the significant applications towards assisting in sensing physical information from human inaccesible area. It was also observed from existing sysem that energy attribute is the root cause of majority of the problems associated with WSN that also gives rise to various operational reliability issue. Therefore, the prime goal of the proposed study is to present a novel predictive optimization approach of data fusion in order to jointly address the problems associated with energy efficiency and reliable operation of sensor nodes in WSN. An analytical research approach is carried out in order to ensure that a time-based synchronization scheme contributes to offer an evolutionary approach towards significant energy optimization. A simulation-based benchmarking analysis is carried out to find that proposed system offers good energy-efficient performance in comparison to existing approaches.

Abstract

This work is dedicated to the study of an improved direct control of powers of the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) incorporated in a wind energy conversion system 'WECS'. The control method adopts direct power control 'DPC' because of its various advantages like the ease of implementation which allows decoupled regulation for active and reactive powers, as well as a good performance at transient and steady state without PI regulators and rotating coordinate transformations. To do this, the modeling of the turbine and generator is performed. Therefore, the Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology is implemented to extract optimal power at variable wind speed conditions. Subsequently, an explanation of the said command is spread out as well as the principle of adjusting the active and reactive power according to the desired speed. Then, the estimation method of these two control variables will be presented as well as the adopted switching table of the hysteresis controller model used based on the model of the multilevel inverters. Finally, the robustness of the developed system will be analyzed with validation in Matlab / Simulink environment to illustrate the performance of this command.

Abstract

The variation and stability of HBT’s parameters at different temperatures are important for utilizing these devices in high-power integrated circuits. The temperature dependence of the DC current gain of bipolar transistors, as a key device parameter, has been extensively investigated. A major issue of the power HBT’s is that the current gain is decreased with junction temperature due to self-heating effect. Hence, how to stabilize the DC current gain and RF performances is important issue to develop the power HBTs. This work describes the DC and high-frequency temperature dependence of InGaP/GaAs HBT’s. The substrate temperature (T) was varied from 25 to 150°C. The static and dynamic performances of the HBT are degraded at high temperature, due to the reduced of carrier mobility with increasing temperature. The current gain (β) decreases at high temperatures; from 140 to 127 at 25 to 150°C, while the decreases in the peak Ft and Fmax are observed from about 110 GHz to 68 GHz and from 165 GHz to 53 GHz respectively in the temperature range of 25 to 150°C.

Abstract

For driving constant loads in industry, the use of direct-on-line-start permanent-magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motors with ferrite magnets (DOL-Start-PMa-SynRM) is proposed. The bibliographic search demonstrated that this new motor has greater efficiency than one similar induction motor (IM). It was evidenced that the main element that is required for direct starting is to insert a squirrel cage into the rotor of a PMa-SynRM, which does not produce negative operational effects in a steady state. An economic evaluation was carried out in a sugar mill company, applying the differential net present value (NPV) method, and a sensitivity analysis, considering the four factors that present the most variation. It was demonstrated, by means of a Pareto diagram standardized for the NPV that the most significant factors are fuel factor, lifespan and the multiplication of both. With response surfaces that are obtained with a multilevel factorial experiment, it was determined that, by varying the factors in the ranges considered, the NPV always remains positive and higher than 2200 USD. This is mainly due to the notable difference between the efficiency of the DOL-Start-PMa-SynRM and that of the IM. Consequently, is proved that an investment in the DOL-Start-PMa-SynRM may be feasible.

Abstract

Frequency oscillator is one of the basic devices that can be used in most electrical, electronics and communications circuits and systems. There are many types of oscillators depending on frequency range used in an application such as audio, radio and microwave. The needed was appeared to use high and very high frequencies to make the rapid development of advanced technology Colpitts oscillator is one of the most common types of oscillator, it can be used for radio frequency (RF), that its output signal is often utilized at the basic of a wireless communication system in most application. In this research, a Colpitts oscillator is comprised from a bipolar junction transistor (BJT) amplifier with LC tank. This design is carrying out with a known Barkhausen criterion for oscillation. Firstly, is carried out using theoretical calculation. The secondary is carried out using simulation (Multisim 13). All the obtained result from the above two approaches are 10 MHz and 9.745 MHz respectively. This result is seen to be very encouraging.

Abstract

Current trend in health-care industry is to shift its data on the cloud, to increase availability of Electronic Health Records (EHR) e.g. Patient’s medical history in real time, which will allow sharing of EHR with ease. However, this conventional cloud-based data sharing environment has data security and privacy issues. This paper proposes a distributed solution based on blockchain technology for trusted Health Information Exchange (HIE). In addition to exchange of EHR between patient and doctor, the proposed system is also used in other aspects of healthcare such as improving the insurance claim and making data available for research organizations. Medical data is very sensitive, in both social as well as legal aspects, so permissioned block-chain such as Hyperledger Fabric is used to retain the necessary privacy required in the proposed system. As, this is highly permissioned network where the owner of the network i.e. patient holds all the access rights, so in case of emergency situations the proposed system has a Backup Access System which will allow healthcare professionals to access partial EHR and this backup access is provided by using wearable IOT device.
