As control over wireless network in the industry is receives increasing attention, its application comes with challenges such as stochastic network delay. The PIDs are ill equipped to handle such challenges while the model based controllers are complex. A settlement between the two is the PPI controller. However, there is no certainty on its ability to preserve closed loop stability under such challenges. While classical robustness measures do not require extensive uncertainty modelling, they do not guarantee stability under simultaneous process and network delay variations. On the other hand, the model uncertainty measures tend to be conservative. Thus, this work uses extended complementary sensitivity function method which handles simultaneously those challenges. Simulation results shows that the PPI controller can guarantee stability even under model and delay uncertainties.

Human recognition systems have gained great importance recently in a wide range of applications like access, control, criminal investigation and border security. Ear is an emerging biometric which has rich and stable structure and can potentially be implemented reliably and cost efficiently. Thus human ear recognition has been researched widely and made greatly progress. High recognition rates which are reported in most existing methods can be reached only under closely controlled conditions. Actually a slight amount of rotation and translation which is inescapable would be injurious for system performance. In this paper, a method that uses a transformed type of DCT is implemented to extract meaningful features from ear images. This algorithm is quite robust to ear rotation, translation and illumination. The proposed method is experimented on two popular databases, i.e. USTB II and IIT Delhi II, which achieves significant improvement in the performance in comparison to other methods with good efficiency based on LBP, DSIFT and Gabor. Also because of considering only important coefficients, this method is faster compared to other methods.

Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world. There are five major islands and thousands of smaller islands, most of which are in the distance. Therefore, its health services are hardly distributed. E-Health is one of the methods expected to deal with the problem of distance in health services. The development and use of technology in health area has given rise to several studies on the applications of e-Health in Indonesia. Based on a number of studies, we find that e-Health in Indonesia has been applied since 1985. The technologies and features used from time to time were growing in some period of time. However, the study also shows that from that point of time the number and variety of technologies and features provided are decreasing and the focus shifted to further analysis of the problems needed to be solved and provision of technologies and features only relevant to those problems. The development of e-Health applications in Indonesia has given promising results in providing health services, but they are still conducted by certain educational institutions and their uses are not evenly distributed throughout Indonesia.

This paper proposes a power management strategy of parallel inveters based system, to enhance the power generation capacity of the existing system with distributed energy sources one has to choose DG source based inverter connected in parallel with the existing system. Two DG sources PV, Fuel cells feeds the DC voltage to two parallel inverters connected to the grid. Fixed band hysteresis current control with Instantaneous p-q power theory is adopted to create an artificial environment. Two parallel inverters are able to deliver the harvested power from PV, FC to grid and able to balance the load Without communication between parallel inverters this controller having the capability of load following, the harmonic components of currents at output of inverter are also very low; this will automatically reduces the circulating currents between parallel inverters. Simulation studies are carried out to investigate the results of PV, FC systems connected to the utility grid.

Importance of distributed systems for distributing the workload on the processors is globally accepted. It is an agreed fact that divides and conquers is the effective strategy for load balancing problems. In today’s time, load balancing is the major issue for scheduling algorithm such as in Parallel and Distributed Systems including Grid and Cloud Computing and many more. Load Balancing is the phenomena of spreading or distributing the workload among the processors so that all processors keep busy for all the time, in order to prevent ideal time of processors. In this work, presents a load balancing algorithm for heterogeneous distributed system (HeDS) with aim of minimizing the load imbalance factor (LIF). The proposed algorithm is using optimization techniques such as Max-Max and Min-Max strategy and applied on Folded Crossed Cube (FCC) network. Makespan, speedup and average resource utilization are also evaluated for performance matrices. The experimental results of the proposed algorithms have showed better in comparison to with previous work under various test conditions.

One of major drawbacks of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems is the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). A signal with high PAPR leads to nonlinear distortion caused mainly by power amplifiers in wireless transmitters. Partial transmit sequence (PTS) is one of the most attractive methods to reduce the PAPR in OFDM systems. It achieves considerable PAPR reduction without distortion, but it requires an exhaustive search over all the combinations of the given phase factors, which results in a computational complexity that increases exponentially with the number of partitions. For this optimization problem, we propose in this paper a suboptimal PTS method based on the self-adaptive multipopulation differential evolution algorithm (SAMDE). The self adaptation of control parameters and structured population, is able to obtain high quality solutions with low computational cost by evolving each sub-population of individuals over successive generations.

This paper intends to analyze subjective measurements of intelligibility of speech on Albanian language during the conversation between two people using applications which today are very used for communication such as Skype and Viber. The measurement is done as follows: on the entry part of the transmission system sentences or words are spoken or just syllables while on receiving part is recorded what is heard; the percentage of words, sentences or syllables correctly received, on proportion to those imposed on the entry of the system, providing the percentage of intelligibility (the words, sentences or syllables). Methods of measurements are made at different speed of the Internet, in an environment without noise and with noise, in order to see the impact on understanding of the speech with different target parameters.

This paper solves an optimal reactive power scheduling problem in the deregulated power system using the evolutionary based Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA). Reactive power scheduling is a very important problem in the power system operation, which is a nonlinear and mixed integer programming problem. It optimizes a specific objective function while satisfying all the equality and inequality constraints. In this paper, CSA is used to determine the optimal settings of control variables such as generator voltages, transformer tap positions and the amount of reactive compensation required to optimize the certain objective functions. The CSA algorithm has been developed from the inspiration that the obligate brood parasitism of some Cuckoo species lay their eggs in nests of other host birds which are of other species. The performance of CSA for solving the proposed optimal reactive power scheduling problem is examined on standard Ward Hale 6 bus, IEEE 30 bus, 57 bus, 118 bus and 300 bus test systems. The simulation results show that the proposed approach is more suitable, effective and efficient compared to other optimization techniques presented in the literature.

With advent of Big Data Analytics, the healthcare system is increasingly adopting the analytical services that is ultimately found to generate massive load of highly unstructured data. We reviewed the existing system to find that there are lesser number of solutions towards addressing the problems of data variety, data uncertainty, and data speed. It is important that an error-free data should arrive in analytics. Existing system offers single-hand solution towards single platform. Therefore, we introduced an integrated framework that has the capability to address all these three problems in one execution time. Considering the synthetic big data of healthcare, we carried out the investigation to find that our proposed system using deep learning architecture offers better optimization of computational resources. The study outcome is found to offer comparatively better response time and higher accuracy rate as compared to existing optimization technqiues that is found and practiced widely in literature.

Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs) are a cluster of self-organizing and self-governing wireless nodes without any backbone infrastructure and centralized administration. The various nodes in MANET move randomly, and this node mobility may pose challenges on the performance of routing protocols. In this paper, an Intra and intergroup performance review of various MANET routing protocols are performed under varying speed of nodes. The routing protocols included in this study are reactive, proactive, and hybrid protocols. This performance review is done using the NS2 simulator and random waypoint model. The routing protocols performance is assessed through standard performance measure metrics including packet delivery ratio, throughput, routing overhead and end to end delivery with varying speed of nodes. The simulations result shows that there is no significant impact of varying speed of nodes on standard performance evaluation metrics.
