Abstract

Food integrity and food safety have received much attention in recent years due to the dramatic increasing number of food frauds. In this article we focus on the problem of dairy products traceability. In particular, we propose an automatic forgery detection system able to detect frauds in milk and cheese. We investigate the use of Short Tandem Repeats analysis data, processed by a Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy algorithm in order to evaluate a traceability score between the products and their producer, and to highlight possible adulterations and inconsistencies. To demonstrate the usability of the proposed heuristic algorithm in a real setup, we also present the results collected from two real Italian farms.

Abstract

In today’s predictive analytics world, data engineering play a vital role, data acquisition is carried out from various source systems and process as per the business applications and domain. Big Data integrates, governs, and secures big data with repeatable, reliable, and maintainable processes. Through volume, speed, and assortment of information characteristics try to reveal business esteem from enormous information. However, with information that is frequently deficient, conflicting, ungoverned, and unprotected, which is hazardous and enormous information being a risk instead of an advantage. What's more, with conventional methodologies that are manual and unpredictable, huge information ventures take too long to acknowledge business esteem. Reasonably and over and again conveying business esteem from enormous information requires another technique. In this connection, raw data has to be moved between onsite and offshore environment during this course of action, data privacy is a major concern and challenge. A Big Data Privacy platform can make it easier to detect, investigate, assess, and remediate threats from intruders. We tried to do complete study of Big Data Privacy using data masking methods on various data loads and different types. This work will help data quality analyst and big data developers while building the big data applications.

Abstract

The OFDM techniquei.e. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing has become prominent in wireless communication since its instruction in 1950’s due to its feature of combating the multipath fading and other losses. In an OFDM system, a large number of orthogonal, overlapping, narrow band subchannels or subcarriers, transmitted in parallel, divide the available transmission bandwidth. The separation of the subcarriers is theoretically optimal such that there is a very compact spectral utilization. This paper reviewed the possible approaches for blind channel estimation in the light of the improved performance in terms of speed of convergence and complexity. There were various researches which adopted the ways for channel estimation for Blind, Semi Blind and trained channel estimators and detectors. Various ways of channel estimation such as Subspace, iteration based, LMSE or MSE based (using statistical methods), SDR, Maximum likelihood approach, cyclostationarity, Redundancy and Cyclic prefix based. The paper reviewed all the above approaches in order to summarize the outcomes of approaches aimed at optimum performance for channel estimation in OFDM systems

Abstract

With the increasing expansion of cloud data centers and the demand for cloud services, one of the major problems facing these data centers is the “increasing growth in energy consumption ". In this paper, we propose a method to balance the burden of virtual machine resources in order to reduce energy consumption. The proposed technique is based on a four-adaptive threshold model to reduce energy consumption in physical servers and minimize SLA violation in cloud data centers. Based on the proposed technique, hosts will be grouped into five clusters: hosts with low load, hosts with a light load, hosts with a middle load, hosts with high load and finally, hosts with a heavy load. Virtual machines are transferred from the host with high load and heavy load to the hosts with light load. Also, the VMs on low hosts will be migrated to the hosts with middle load, while the host with a light load and hosts with middle load remain unchanged. The values of the thresholds are obtained on the basis of the mathematical modeling approach and the ????-Means Clustering Algorithm is used for clustering of hosts. Experimental results show that applying the proposed technique will improve the load balancing and reduce the number of VM migration and reduce energy consumption.

Abstract

Audio, image and video signals produce a vast amount of data. The only solution of this problem is to compress data before storage and transmission. In general there is the three crucial terms as, Bit Rate Reduction, Fast Data Transfer and Reduction in Storage. Rate control is a vigorous factor in video coding. In video communications, rate control must ensure the coded bitstream can be transmitted effectively and make full use of the narrow bandwidth. There are various test models usually suggested by a standard during the development of video codes models in order to video coding which should be suffienciently be efficient based on H.264 at very low bit rate. These models are Test Model Number 5 (TMN5), Test Model Number 8 for H.263, and Verification Model 8 (VM8) for MPEG-4 and H.264 etc. In this work, Rate control analysis for H.264, MPEG-4 performed. For Rate control analysis test model verification model version 8.0 is adopted.

Abstract

Telecommunication industry requires high capacity networks with high data rates which are achieved through utilization of Multiple-Input-Multiple-Output (MIMO) communication along with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system. Still, the communication channel suffers from noise, interference or distortion due to hardware design limitations, and channel environment, and to combat these challenges, and achieve enhanced performance; various error control techniques are implemented to enable the receiver to detect any possible received errors and correct it and thus; for a certain transmitted signal power the system would have lower Bit Error Rate (BER). The provided research focuses on Redundant Residue Number System (RRNS) coding as a Forward Error Correction (FEC) scheme that improves the performance of MIMO-OFDM based wireless communications in comparison with current methods as Low-Density Parity Check (LDPC) coders at the transmitter side or equalizers at receiver side. The Bit Error Rate (BER) performance over the system was measured using MATLAB tool for different simulated channel conditions, including the effect of signal amplitude reduction and multipath delay spreading. Simulation results had shown that RRNS coding scheme provides an enhancement in system performance over conventional error detection and correction coding schemes by utilizing the distinct features of Residue Number System (RNS).

Abstract

Panoramic X-Ray produces produces the most common oral digital radiographic image that it used in dentistry practice. The image can further improve accuracy compared to analog one. This study aims to establish proximal caries edge on enhancement images so they can be easily recognized. The images were obtained from the Department of Radiology, General Hospital of M. Djamil Padang Indonesia. Total file of images to be tested were 101. Firstly, the images are analyzed by dentists who practiced at Segment Padang Hospital Indonesia. They concluded that there is proximal caries in 30 molar teeth. Furthermore, the images were processed using Matlab software with the following steps, i.e. cropping, enhancement, edge detection, and edge enhancement. The accuracy rate of detection of edge enhancement images being compared with that of dentist analysis was 73.3%. In the edge enhancement images proximal caries edge can be found conclusively in 22 teeth and dubiously in eight teeth. The results of this study convinced that edge enhancement images can be recommended to assist dentists in detecting proximal caries.

Abstract

In the present age, cellular phones are the largest selling products in the world. Big Data Analytics is a method used for examining large and varied data, which we know as big data. Big data analytics is very useful for understanding the world of cellphone business. It is important to understand the requirements, demands, and opinions of the customer. Opinion Mining is getting more important than ever before, for performing analysis and forecasting customer behavior and preferences. This study proposes a framework about the key features of cellphones based on which, customers buy them and rate them accordingly. This research work also provides  balanced and well researched reasons as to why few companies enjoy dominance in the market, while others do not make as much of an impact.
