Abstract

Named Data Networking (NDN) is a clean-slate future Internet architecture proposed to support content mobility. However, content producer mobility is not supported fundamentally and faces many challenges such as, high handoff latency, signaling overhead cost and unnecessary Interest packet losses. Hence, many approaches indirection-based approach, mapping-based approach, locator-based approach and control/data plane-based approach were proposed to address these problems. Mapping-based and control/data plane-based approach deployed servers for name resolution serveces to provide optimal data path after handoff, but introduces high handoff latency and signalling overhead cost. Indirection-based and locator-based approach schemes provide normal handoff delay, but introduces sub-optimal or tiangular routing path. Therefore, there is needs to provide substantial producer mobility support that minimizes the handoff latency, signaling cost and improve data packets delivery via optimal path once a content producer relocates to new location. This paper proposed a scheme that provides optimal data path using mobility Interest packets and broadcasting strategy. Analytical investigation result shows that our proposed scheme outperforms existing approaches in terms of handoff latency, signaling cost and path optimization.

Abstract

Football has been one of the most popular and loved sports since its birth on November 6th, 1869. The main reason for this is because it is highly unpredictable in nature. Predicting football matches results seems like the perfect problem for machine learning models. But there are various caveats such as picking the right features from an enormous number of available features.  There have been many models which have been applied to various football-related datasets. This paper aims to compare Support Vector Machines a machine learning model and XGBoost an Ensemble learning model and how Ensemble Learning can greatly improve the accuracy of the predictions.

Abstract

There are multiple reasons for the evolution as well as the presence of noise over transmitted GSM signal. In spite of various approaches towards noise cancellation techniques, there are less applicable techniques for controlling noise in acoustic GSM signal. Therefore, the proposed manuscript presents an integrated modelling which performs modelling of noise identification that could significantly assist in successful noise cancellation. The proposed system uses three different approach viz. i) stochastic based approach for noise modelling, ii) analytical-based approach where allocated power acts as one of the prominent factors of noise, and iii) wavelet-based approach for effective decomposition of GSM signal for assisting better noise cancellation technique followed by better retention of signal quality. Simulated in MATLAB, the study outcome shows that it offers a cost-effective implementation, A Practical Approach for Noise identification, and Effective Noise Cancellation with Signal quality retention. The proposed system offers approximately 24% of enhancement in noise reduction as compared to any existing digital filters with 1.6 seconds faster in processing speed.

Abstract

Electricity theft remains a huge loss incurred by electricity distribution companies. This theft arises majorly because of activities carried out by consumers such as energy-meter by-passing, energy-meter tampering etc. This research study offers an approach for handling energy meter by-passing and tampering. The system design is based on the monitoring of the readings of two current sensors by a programmed microcontroller. While one of the current sensors monitors the current drawn by the user’s load, the latter installed before the meter monitors current drawn by all loads. Any discrepancy between the values read, indicates theft. A momentary switch is also installed in the meter to trigger the meter once it is tampered with. Furthermore, the user is provided with a remote access to the energy meter for recharging energy units and for monitoring energy consumption. It was observed that the system accurately measured load consumption and detect any attempt to by-pass or tamper with the energy meter. Lastly, all unscrupulous attempts were reported using GSM technology.

Abstract

The emergence of many internet industries ushers in IOT era, and about to bring us to the point of universal connectivity. In the field of education, the IOT technology has a broad applicable prospect for a more interactive and intelligent way by improving the quality of teaching and management. The proposed class affair management system is mean to enrich the interaction between lecturers and students which in an efficient and smart way. Based on the existing model, a layered architecture is proposed to build the beacon based campus management system. Backend device and protocols compose the physical layer to collect the raw data from physical objects. Data link layer and control layer are responsible for forming required package and sending to corresponding layer. Beacon technology used for proposed design applies Bluetooth low energy 4.0 standard which allowing devices exchange data through Bluetooth at an extremely low power consumption-using a single coin cell battery can last for several years. Saved up to 97 percentage energy compared with similar system. The entire proposed platform allows participants to bring personally owned devices to access campus management system. Through location information, teaching activities and personalized information notification can be automatically accomplished, which will inspire the innovation and development of classroom teaching mode. Beacon technology has a great potential that can be completely transplanted into other scenario such as the hypermarket and library.

Abstract

The Twin Rotor MIMO System is a higher order non-linear plant and is inherently unstable due to cross coupling between tail and main rotor. In this paper only the control of main rotor is considered which is non-linear and stable by using adaptive schemes. The control problem is to achieve perfect tracking for input reference signals while maintaining robustness and stability. Four adaptive schemes were implemented, two using Model Reference Adaptive Control under which MIT rule and Modified MIT rule are used. The other two using Adaptive Interaction, namely, Adaptive PID and Approximate Adaptive PID. It is observed that adaptive schemes fulfill all the three system performance requirements at the same time. Modified MIT rule was found to give superior performance in comparison to other controllers. Also Approximate Adaptive PID was able to stabilize the main rotor and cancel the effect of cross coupling between tail rotor and main rotor when operating simultaneously without the need for designing decouplers for the system. Thus the main rotor can be made independent from the state of the tail rotor by using Approximate Adaptive PID.

Abstract

The present article is designed to supply two different numericalsolutions for solving  Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation. We have madean attempt to develop a numerical solution via the use ofSinc-Galerkin method for  Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation, Sincapproximations to both derivatives and indefinite integrals reducethe solution to an explicit system of algebraic equations. The fixedpoint theory is used to prove the convergence of the proposedmethods. For comparison purposes, a combination of a Crank-Nicolsonformula in the time direction, with the Sinc-collocation in thespace direction is presented, where the derivatives in the spacevariable are replaced by the necessary matrices to produce a systemof algebraic equations. In addition, we present numerical examplesand comparisons to support the validity of these proposedmethods.

Abstract

A conceptual design Study of a solar electrical power system using PV array for a 5.3MW as nominal power required is presented. A Bird model has been used to estimate hourly, daily, monthly and yearly solar radiation amounts. f-f-chart is a design method was chosen to simulate the fraction of the solar energy required for the load given the PV array areas and climatic conditions. Four cities in the Middle East and North Africa representing different locations at southern Mediterranean region are selected Tripoli, Alexandria, Tunisia and Gaza city. Tripoli City has the best performance for 73% of nominal Power followed by Alexandria about 66% and then Gaza around 63%, Tunisia City has lowest solar fraction about 59% according to the Monthly and annual solar fraction Data.

Abstract

In This paper, we propose an effective and online technique for modeling nd State of Charge (SoC) estimation of Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) batteries using Feed Forward Neural Networks(FFNN) and Nonlinear Auto Regressive model with eXogenous input(NARX). The both Artificial Neural Network (ANN) are rained using the data collected from the batterycharging and discharging pro ess. The NARX network finds the needed battery model, where the input ariables are the battery terminal voltage, SoC at the previous sample, and the urrent, temperature at the present sample. The proposed method is imple mented on a Li-Ion battery cell to estimate online SoC. Simulation results show good estimation of theSoC.

Abstract

In this paper, we theoretically analyze the performance of amplify-and-forward (AF) serial relaying free-space optical (FSO) systems using avalanche photodiodes (APD) and subcarrier quadrature amplitude modulation (SC-QAM) over strong atmospheric turbulence channels modelled by gamma-gamma distribution. Closed-form expression for average bit error rate (BER) of system is theoretically derived talking into account APD shot noise, thermal noise as well as the impact of atmospheric loss and turbulence. The numerical results show that using AF relay stations can extend the transmission distance and help to improve performance of FSO system significantly when compared with the direct transmission. Moreover, the selection of APD gain value is indispensable to the system performance. The proposed system could be achieved the best performance by selecting an optimal APD gain value. In addition, the optimal value of APD gain also significantly depends on various conditions, such as link distance, the number of relay stations and APD receiver noise.
