Abstract

The main stressor for children when undergoing treatment is fear of pain. Untreated pain experiences lead to physiological and psychological consequences in children over a long period of time. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of finger puppets on pain intensity during infusion installation in pre-school children in the cilinaya room of RSD Mangusada. This study used quasi-experimental with non-equivalent with control group design post-test only, the intervention group was given finger puppets during infusion installation and the control group accompanied by parents with a sample number of 15 respondents each. The sampling technique is accidental sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection instruments in the form of finget puppet therapy SOPs and FLACC observation sheets were analyzed univariately and bivariately with independent sample tests. The average pain was 3.20 in the intervention group and 7.67 in the control group and the independent sample test found a p value of 0.000 which means that there is an effect of finger puppet administration on pain intensity during infusion in pre-school children. Finger puppets are effectively applied in the pediatric care room of RSD Mangusada to reduce the intensity of pain during infusion installation.

Abstract

A nation's future depends on children's success in achieving optimal growth and development. One of the efforts to achieve optimal development is screening and developmental stimulation. Implementation of development stimulation requires media. The media used is android-based media designed by researchers, including gross and fine motor stimulation, speech and language, as well as socialization and independence. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of developmental stimulation media on the developmental abilities of preschoolers. The method used is a quasi-experimental design test analysis using univariate analysis (frequency distribution) and bivariate (Wilcoxon tests). The number of respondents was 75 (35 children in the intervention group and 35 children in the control group). In the intervention group, development stimulation was carried out using an android-based development stimulation media SDIDTK while in the control group used PPT material after the post-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between average ability: gross movement, fine movement, speech and language, and socialization and independence of children in the intervention group and the control group after treatment (p-value < 0.005 and α= 0.05). IT-based stimulation media (android) can be used as an alternative in stimulating development in preschool-aged children.

WHO introduced the framework of Respectful Midwifery Care (RMC) in 2014, which is dignified and respectful care to increase patient satisfaction. The objective is to determine the relationship between acceptance of Respectful Midwifery Care (RMC) and satisfaction with newborn care. The population of this research is postpartum 1-40 days mothers who go through a normal delivery process with a normal baby. The researcher used purposive sampling with 102 respondents—furthermore. The data analysis used univariate and bivariate. Bivariate analysis will use Chi-Square tests. The research results showed that the most respondents were 92.2% of reproductive age, 92.2% had higher education, and 58.8% were unemployed. The researcher obtained a P value of .001 and OR 11.071 based on statistical tests. In conclusion, there is a relationship between RMC and the quality of services for newborn babies; it was proven by the respondents who received RMC 11 times that they were more satisfied than respondents who did not receive RMC.

Abstract

Cervical cancer has been the second most common cancer in women and at high-risk to death. It is commonly caused by HumanPapillomaVirus (HPV) so that it is considered making effective use of HPV vaccine to prevent this disease. This study is aimed to investigate factors associated with parents' decision-making to get HPV vaccine for children at the State Primary Schools located in the Community Health Center working area of Binong, Tangerang, in 2024. An analytical survey with cross-sectional design was employed in this quantitative study. 87 people out of the whole population of female students at SDN Binong I-VI were selected as samples of the study. Samples were collected by means of Cluster Random Sampling and data gathered was analyzed by using a Chi-Square test. The study found that a substantial majority of parents administer the HPV vaccine to their children (78.2%). In bivariate analysis, no statistically significant relationship was observed between education level and the decision to vaccinate children against HPV (p = 0.637). However, significant associations were identified between knowledge level (p = 0.000), motivation (p = 0.004), family support (p = 0.000), exposure to information (p = 0.000), and the decision to vaccinate children against HPV.

Abstract

Background: Stunting is a condition where the height of children under five years of age is far below the age standard due to chronic malnutrition and other health problems. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO) and various national health institutions, stunting can have a long-term impact on children's cognitive development, health and well-being. Traditionally, the role of childcare is often considered the mother's responsibility, while the father's role is often focused on financial aspects. Objective: to obtain information about fathers' perspectives in caring for babies and toddlers to prevent stunting. Method: This research is qualitative research involving 96 father respondents. The inclusion criteria for fathers were fathers who were healthy and had children aged infants or toddlers. Results: From this study it was still found that the majority showed sufficient awareness of the importance of nutrition for their children, but their knowledge was often limited to basic information and did not fully understand the details of a proper diet or the importance of regular health checks. Fathers' involvement in health visits and child health consultations is often more limited. Fathers tend to rely on mothers for decisions regarding health and treatment, despite fathers' awareness of the importance of routine check-ups and immunizations. Conclusion: the father's role cannot yet be said to be optimal to help prevent stunting because there are still values that assume this function lies with the mother. There is a need to increase the optimization of the father's role in addition to increasing knowledge capacity.
