Abstract

Fair wage determination involves subjective perceptions influenced by individual values and contextual understanding. This study explores fair wage concepts within Islamic banking through a cross-sectional survey examining respondents across various positions and industrial relations statuses. The research incorporates transparency and information openness as key variables, analyzing fair wages beyond nominal amounts to encompass processes shaping individual perceptions. An Islamic economic perspective guides the analysis of determinant factors. The study employed a survey of Islamic banking professionals to assess perceptions of wage fairness and their relationships with job satisfaction and family welfare. Findings reveal that 92.36% of respondents perceive their wages as fair, with the highest level of satisfaction (96.1%) attributed to wage comparability across similar roles. The lowest satisfaction (76.6%) was observed for religious culture aspects. This research contributes to Islamic economic theory by demonstrating the contemporary relevance of Islamic teachings on economic justice in modern industrial contexts, highlighting social benefits as crucial determinants in fair wage concepts for policy development.

Abstract

This research attempts to analyze the impacts experienced by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises' (MSMEs) Competitiveness after obtaining Halal certification. The study focused on MSMEs in the Food and Beverage sector using a qualitative exploratory approach. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach and using a purposive sampling method. One respondent was selected from each district to ensure that all districts within the study area were represented. The rationale for this approach was to secure minimal but sufficient representation from every district under investigation. The analysis results show that halal certification contributes not only to business growth but also to the advancement of Islamic economic values by embedding halalan tayyiban principles into the supply chain, promoting transparency, and reinforcing consumer rights in predominantly Muslim markets. The study further highlights that Halal certification contributes to advancing of Islamic economic values by embedding the principles of halalan tayyiban into production and distribution processes, promoting business transparency, and reinforcing consumer rights in predominantly Muslim communities. Therefore, Halal certification serves not only as a religious or legal obligation but also as a strategic instrument for sustainable growth and empowerment of MSMEs in regional economic development.

Abstract

This research investigates and critically analyzes the financing value chain within Bank Syariah Indonesia. Employing a case study methodology, the study explores a specific phenomenon in depth through systematic interviews, direct observations, and document analysis to capture the case's contextual and structural intricacies. The selection of informants was carried out purposefully to ensure relevance to the research objectives, as the credibility and validity of qualitative findings largely depend on the suitability of participants. The informants comprised individuals holding strategic roles and possessing substantial insights into the studied context, specifically one leader and one staff member representing each relevant division. The study population encompasses Islamic banking institutions operating in Indonesia. The findings reveal that the problem formulation and data analysis regarding Value Chain Analysis under Sharia principles highlight several key aspects. The implementation of Value Chain Analysis integrated with Sharia-based frameworks aligns with Good Corporate Governance practices, grounded in five core principles essential to achieving sound governance standards.

Abstract

Home is one of the primary human needs that supports family education and fosters children's character, preparing the younger generation and society. Unfortunately, not everyone can have the ideal home to create an economically viable family living environment. One of the Islamic financial instruments is waqf, which is expected to support all aspects of finance, including the procurement of houses, both as residences and businesses. The term housing waqf refers to providing services to small communities without housing, which a waqf organization will manage. The purpose of the study is to analyze the impact of the public housing waqf program on people's welfare. This research uses a combination of library and field research to provide both theoretical grounding and empirical evidence. The results show that not everyone can afford a livable house, so the ideal function of the home cannot be realized in family development. This is due to the government's lack of attention to the poor. Waqf for people's welfare emerges as a way to overcome family economic problems and ensure sustainable community welfare.

Abstract

In Indonesia, pesantren are evolving from being solely religious institutions to hybrid socio-economic institutions. These transformations stem from the assimilation of Islamic Digital entrepreneurial values and governance. However, the synergy of the facets in the candidate documents remains under-theorized and unchronicled. This research applies a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology through the TCCM (Theory, Context, Characteristics, Methodology) Framework to weave together 78 peer-reviewed documents published between 2010 and 2025. The four key development pathways were distilled from bibliometric and content analyses and are as follows: the digitization of entrepreneurial waqf frameworks enhances operational efficiencies and scaling; waqf as a productive socio-economic capital; trust and moral legitimacy are obtained through Islamic business ethics; and the access to and the challenges of intellectual property are hindering institutional scale. This Study stands out in the body of available conceptual and analytical works, given that the majority of extant literature provides a striated holistic synthesis. In response, the research proposes a hybrid co-creation framework that integrates Islamic Digital entrepreneurship values and governance. This framework aims to foster socio-economic inclusivity through the collaboration of Digital MSMEs and pesantren. This work combines Islamic values of spirituality with the digital transformation and the protective legal system into a singular theoretical construct designed to reinforce entrepreneurship grounded in pesantren values, and it develops the theory by suggesting a hybrid co-creation model for its implementation.

Abstract

The growing halal industry and digital marketplace have reshaped Gen Z consumer behaviour, leading their purchase patterns to blend Islamic values with digital lifestyles. Although existing studies have examined Islamic marketing, product quality, and online consumer behaviour separately, limited research has modelled their combined effects on purchase decisions within a sharia-compliant framework. This study addresses this gap by developing a quantitative model that predicts Generation Z's purchase decisions, with customer satisfaction as the mediating variable. Using a survey-based design, data were collected from 53 Gen Z respondents and analysed using Structural Equation Modelling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS). The study results show that consumer shopping habits significantly influence their level of satisfaction. Product quality has a significant impact on customer satisfaction. Sharia marketing has a substantial impact on customer satisfaction. Shopping lifestyle has a significant impact on purchasing choices. Product quality has a considerable impact on purchasing choices. Sharia marketing has a substantial effect on consumer purchasing decisions. Customer satisfaction significantly affects purchasing decisions. Globally, the study provides empirical evidence supporting the growing relevance of the halal economy and offers insights for policymakers and industries seeking to strengthen consumer trust and competitiveness.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital economies has intensified the need to align marketing innovations with Shariah ethical principles. This study systematically reviews and synthesizes scholarly developments on Shariah-compliant marketing within digital environments by integrating literature from Islamic finance, governance, digital technology, and Muslim consumer behaviour. Combining a systematic literature review with bibliometric analysis of 130 Scopus-indexed documents published between 2001 and 2025, the findings reveal four dominant thematic domains: the operationalisation of core Islamic ethical principles through blockchain, AI, fintech, and smart contracts; the increasing relevance of transmedia storytelling for culturally grounded value communication; the rise of maqasid al-shariah–oriented governance frameworks to strengthen consumer protection and disclosure; and the influence of religiosity and literacy on technology acceptance. Despite significant growth, the field remains fragmented, with limited theoretical convergence between institutional digital innovation and consumer-facing ethical practices. The study proposes a forward-looking research agenda emphasising hybrid human–AI compliance systems, narrative governance in digital persuasion, and longitudinal assessment of ethical performance. These directions contribute to strengthening integrity, accountability, and value authenticity in Shariah-compliant marketing across contemporary digital ecosystems.
