Abstract

Renewable energy is needed as an alternative energy source. One of the implementations of renewable energy is the Solar Power Plant (PLTS). PLTS is a component that uses solar cells to convert solar energy into electrical energy. Unfortunately, the output power of this solar cell depends on the intensity of the light which causes the output power to enter the load to be unstable. Sometimes the PV power decrease because of the shading effect. From this problem a converter is needed to keep the system output voltage. The converter used in this research is the zeta converter. This Zeta converter can operate like a buck boost converter. The output of the system used is not stable. So that to stabilize it requires good control. In this paper using PI controller to control this system in order to keep the output system stable. 3. The error generated using the PI Control on the system is only 0.34%.

Abstract

Induction motor speed control is one of the operating conditions that is often used so that feedback with a low error rate is required. To fulfill this, PI and PID controls have been implemented for single phase induction motors. This control has parameters, namely Kp, Ki and Kd. PI and PID controls can cover a variety of desired response conditions, but these controls still have weaknesses in the tuning process. The tuning process used still has a fairly large error value. So in this case we need an intelligent control to meet the desired motor speed response specifications. The performance of motor speed regulation was evaluated using a comparison between PI and PID control with Fuzzy in a closed loop. With a setting point of 1500 rpm, for PI control, with Kp = 7.32 and Ki = 0.005 can produce motor speeds up to 1499. While PID control with Kp = 0.95, Ki = 0.005 and Kd = 0.04 can produce similar speeds. 1492. Fuzzy control can produce an output of 1490 rpm. Fuzzy control is able to produce a settling time of 0.25 seconds and a steady error of 0.67%.

Abstract

One source of surface water in West Kalimantan is peat water that has low turbidity, dark brown to black (124 - 850 units of PtCo), high organic content (138-1560 mg / L KMnO4), and is acidic (pH 3,7 - 5,3). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of PAC and Moringa oleifera leaves to the decrease in levels of peat organic water in the Rasau Jaya village area, Kubu Raya Regency. The method used in this research is by mixing Moringa leaf powder and PAC (Poly Aluminum Cloride) in peat water accompanied by stirring and precipitating. Furthermore, peat water samples were analyzed for their organic content using the permanganometric titration method. The results showed that the levels of organic substances in peat water before the addition of PAC and Moringa leaf powder amounted to 176.96 mg / l, after the addition of 125 mg PAC and Moringa leaf powder with concentrations of 25, 50, 75 l , 100, 125, 150, 175, 200 mg/l, respectively: 42.04 mg / l, 46.97 mg / l, 58.14 mg / l, 66.15 mg / l, 67.20 mg / l, 60.25 mg / l, 63.41 mg / l, and 53.07 mg / l. Based on the results through regression statistical tests obtained sig = 0.015 <0.05 which means Ha is accepted that there is an effect of increasing the concentration of Moringa oleifera powder and PAC  on Organic Content in Peat Water in Rasau Jaya Village, Kubu Raya Regency.

Abstract

The rapid development of technology encourages humans to always create various types of renewable innovations, which are useful for facilitating work and fulfill user’s order as desired. Especially in household appliances that use renewable energy sources in the form of solar cell, this implementation produces a fluctuating output power according to the properties of solar cell. So, it needs to be stabilized by zeta converter with the help of technology in the engineering sector, it is carried out by means of an interface as a liaison between the software and the controlled hardware. Therefore, a fuzzy set theory emerged to solve the problem in control design. However, there are other controls that can improve fuzzy deficiencies, called ANFIS. ANFIS has advantages in the learning process from the plant and the rules that will be made by the Neural Network have the main ability in terms of learning and adaptation, then decision making is done by FLC. This paper aims to compare the performance of the FLC and ANFIS as a control to keep stability of the output power of the zeta converter, where the converter work like a buck-boost converter that can increase or decrease the output power to be consumed in order to stabilize. The use of these two controllers can also compare the time at steady state and the constant power before learning occurs and after  learning process. The simulation results show that the accuracy of ANFIS is 99.82% higher than accuracy of FLC which is 98.08%.

Abstract

The use of a bored pile foundation is an alternative in planning deep foundations. The function of this bored pile foundation is more or less the same as other deep foundations such as piles but has a slight difference in the process. The bored pile foundation begins with drilling the ground to the planned depth, followed by the installation of steel reinforcement and then concrete mortar. This study aims to evaluate the Cone Penetration Test (CPT) data on the bearing capacity of the bored pile foundation. Calculation of bearing capacity from Cone Penetration Test (CPT) data using the Schmertmann & Nottingham method and the Mayerhof method. Based on CPT data, the percentage calculation of ultimate bearing capacity at location S1 with the Schmertmann & Nottingham method is more optimistic ±17.28% compared to using the Mayerhof method for bored pile diameters of 60 and 80 cm, while for bored pile diameters of 40 cm, calculations using the Mayerhof method show more optimistic by 21.89%. The percentage calculation of ultimate bearing capacity at location S2 using the Schmertmann & Nottingham method is ±11.66% more optimistic than using the Mayerhof method for bored pile diameters of 60 and 80 cm, while the diameter of the bored pile 40 cm, the calculation using the Mayerhof method shows a more optimistic result of 33.82%.

Abstract

The COVID-19 outbreak has a major impact, especially on tourism. Closure of tourist attractions must be enforced to prevent the spread of the virus. People are required to maintain a safe distance and avoid crowds (physical distancing). Some policies and guidelines are created to adapt to the new normal era to drive and stabilize the people's economy during this pandemic. Tourist attractions start operating with government guidelines, including limiting the number of visitors and implementing supporting technology to prevent queues of visitors when purchasing entrance tickets. This study develops a web-based system to facilitate ordering tickets through a web-based system, uploading proof of transfer, and obtaining e-tickets to be shown to ticket officers. Extreme Programming model was used. The e-ticket system has been tested at Baluran National Park using the Blackbox method, showing that the system has the functionality to meet user needs.

Abstract

Testing of oil viscosity sensor based on plastic optical fiber by using bending angle variation method to enhance the sensor sensitivity. This sensor is made by forming an optical fiber bending angle, it is dipped into the oil viscosity liquid. The light transmitted through into the optical fiber will be received by the photodetector and the measurement results are displayed on the OPM in the form of output power. The best measurement obtained at the bending angle of 300 with value of sensor sensitivity is 1.013 nW/mPa.s. This method has the advantage of high sensitivity in a simple measurement process.

Abstract

One of the causes of flooding in Makassar City is the management of the water system that is not optimal. It is necessary to arrange a drainage system to overcome flooding in Makassar City. In this study the topography on Catchment area analysis, analysis of hydrology and hydraulics analysis. Modeling the distribution of flood performed using HEC-RAS applications. This research was conducted in the Tallo watershed which consists of the Upper Tallo sub-watershed and the Mangalarang sub-watershed. The results of the analysis of flood discharge in the Tallo Hilir sub-watershed are 523.76 m3/s and in the Mangalarang sub-watershed are 886.82 m3/s. The flood overflow of the Tallo River spread over 6.48 km2 of Manggala District, 0.31 km2 of Rappocini District, 4.24 km2 of Panakukang District, 3.37 km2 of Tallo District, 11.59 km2 of Tamalanrea District and 0.01 km2 of Biringkanaya District. The total area of flood distribution is 26 km2. The solution to overcome the flooding of the Tallo River with an environmentally sound drainage system, it is necessary to plan the construction of a retention pond in Tamalanrea District, with a normal total storage volume of 2.48 million m3 and a maximum capacity of 5.31 million m3. The construction of this retention pond can reduce 17.7 km2 of flood-affected area.

Abstract

Dynamic disturbances in the power system are caused by sudden changes in load. This condition causes the stability of the generator to be disturbed, such as the emergence of oscillations in the generator in the form of oscillations of frequency and rotor angle. Power System Stabilizer (PSS) is an additional control that can increase generator stability. To get optimal PSS performance, proper tuning of PSS parameters is needed. Optimal performance of PSS can cause the frequency response and angle of the SMIB rotor to be stable. In this study, PSO is used for optimization of PSS parameters. PSS is able to provide stability so that overshoot oscillations can be suppressed, as well as faster settling time performance for the system to reach steady state conditions. To test the reliability of the SMIB, a case study of adding and subtracting loads was used.

Abstract

The existence of a laboratory in an engineering department is very important. The reality is that not all students can use existing laboratories in the engineering department due to limited laboratory space, tools and time constraints. The very rapid development of technology cannot be avoided. Active smartphone users in Indonesia reach over 100 million users. This proves that today's technological developments are very influential in everyday life. There are various kinds of technological developments that have occurred to date. One of these very rapid developments has led to digital technology which is increasingly favored by the community such as VR ( Virtual Reality ) technology which is able to provide the worldvirtual. Therefore, VR technology is used to solve student’s problems in accessing the laboratory. Where the VR technology takes a laboratory background. The utilization is in the form of virtual laboratory applications as digital educational media using VR technology which can later interact directly with practicum tools in the virtual laboratory application.
