This article discusses and describes the use of the Indonesian language on nonprescription medicine package through descriptive study. The nonprescriptive medicine package waschoosen because the costumers are abe to get this medicine easily without doctor’s prescription. The source of data were taken from the written message on medicine package then analysis focused on the used of sentence based on Hasan’s opinion. The result of the study found that there were two forms of sentence used to inform the the costumers about the use of medicine. The forms of the sentence were declarative and imperative. The imperative sentences mostly used were forbidden about 40 sentenses, request is 24 sentences, and command is about 8 sentences.

Tourism is one part of the creative industry that can be developed in Indonesia as a choice of earning foreign exchange beside oil and natural gas. Indonesian tourism industry has bigopportunity and challenge compared to the world tourism. Tourism products is not just nature, but also culture, adventure, living environment, and culinary. Culinary becomes one of thetourism icons for every place in the world, such as: England with scones, Singapore has fishball noodles, and Malaysia with nasi kandar. Indonesia also has many kinds of culinaryicons in every regions, such as bakpia in /Ý$•Å¿ßO•—nî?;ßO•—ur in Jakarta, bika ambon in Medan, and balado chips in Padang. There was a unique way in promoting culinary in WestSumatera in the past. The people used to sing in selling the culinary product, its tradition was called bajojo. This bajojo tradition continued to be folk songs and then recorded commercially. Bajojo culinary song is a part of literature, it belongs to spoken literature. The bajojo songs are existing through the industrial and technological recording and become the popular songs in West Sumatera. This research aims to analyze the intertextual between Primadona and Memoirs of a Geisha. Memoirs of a Geisha with Primadona selected by assumption that some text present inside the other text. The result of this research is the spell out of motif and character. Beside, with the comparison of the similiar aspects, relation the both of Primadona and Memoirs of A Geisha would be explain. The problem of this research is the low of students’ speaking ability of class VIIID in learning English at SMP Negeri 8 Padang. The purpose of this research is to improve students’ abilityin learning English at SMP Negeri 8 Padang. This research used classroom action research in two cycles. Every cycle is done in three meetings and through planning, action, observing andreflection. The data are collected by using speaking test and supported by direct observation by collaborator teacher as an observer through observation sheet and interview for aTriangulation process for accurate data. The learning activity used Information Gap Activity is imprÅ¿ßO• —nî?;ßO•—nðinitial condition to 70% in final condition, increased 25%. The resultof students’ score is also increased from the average of 78,80 in initial process became 81,00 in final condition, increased 2,20 point. The improvement can only be seen from the result ofthe score, but also form the students’ activeness and motivation in the process of learning recorded from the data of observation and the result of students’ interview, so it can be concluded that the use of Information Gap Activity can improve the students’ speaking ability of class VIID at SMP Negeri 8 Padang in learning English.

This article is to describe personal pronouns of greeting di Musi dialect between husband and wife interaction. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data were taken throughparticipant observation, recording,dan field note to some informans from three villages. The result was found that there were two phases of using greeting, pre-marriage and marriage phase. In both pre-marriage and marriage phase, there were also two forms, indirect and direct communication. An essay poetry is a form of poetry which exploring the long and stage of social reality, using simple language, and doing research before, indicated by using a footnote in its presentation. The Essay Poetry of “Sapu Tangan Fang Yin” by Denny J.A. is one of the essay poetries that explores a riot in May 1998. The problem of this article is how the “Sapu Tangan Fang Yin” describes the reality of the May 1998 riot. By applying the historical approach, the depiction of the poem about the riot is obtained. This article uses Dara Jingga research was done by using the postmodern parody theory of Linda Hutcheon. Parody theory is utilized to find the implicit and explicit meanings as a new interpretation of the mythical and historical background of Dara Jingga script play. In so doing, it can reveal the author criticisms as an implementation of parodies in this act. The result of this research points outthat the playscript of Dara Jingga is a parody of Dara Jingga or Bundo Kanduang myth and Pamalayu history text. Parody in this script play is a media used by the author to give a critical criticisms toward power that are being passed on among others: criticizing authoritarian government form which prevents the freedom of expressing opinion, criticizing the power holder that monopolizes history, and criticizing power that is carried on with violence
