Abstract

The study aims to determine the cost of production, revenue, profits and melon farming efficiency, also cost, margin and efficiency of each marketing agencies in Muncar Sub District, Banyuwangi Regency. The study was conducted using descriptive methods with primary data consisted of 42 farmers and 11 traders in Muncar Sub District. The sample i.e. traders was taken using snow ball sampling method. The results obtained that the average production cost of melon farm was IDR 35,997,500/ha, farmers' income was IDR 24,802,500/ha, and farming efficiency was R/C = 1.68 this means that the farm was feasible and can proceed. The share value received by farmers in the marketing channels I was 57.58% with margin of IDR 1,400.-; and the marketing channels II was 69.69% with margin of IDR 1,000. The marketing efficiency of both existing marketing institutions was k/b>1 which means that both the existing marketing channel was quite efficient

Abstract

People who live around Jangkok Watershed in Lombok in general practices agroforestry system under Community Based Forest Management (CBFM) scheme. Objective of this reseach is to estimate changes of carbon stock in relation to extension of CBFM land. This research was carried out in 2009-2010. Estimation of carbon emition is based on analysis of carbon stock changes using RaCSA (Rapid Carbon Stock Appraisal) method that consists of 2 steps: (1) Estimate temporarily land forest cover change through analysis of Landsat satellite from 1995 to 2009, (2) Measuring of carbon stock of land forest cover in various density. Based on remote sensing interpretation Within 14 year period of time, density of land forest cover in Jangkok Watershed has been changing. Forest with high density decrease 43% mean while area for moderate and low density increase by 20% and 17% respectively. Carbon stock for the forest with high density is represented by primary forest about 360 t C/ha, Mahogany forest has 395 t C/ha. Forest with moderate density found in Candlenut forest produces 161 t C/ha and in CBFM about 147 t C/ha with age of tree on average 14 years. Carbon stocking CBFM is varied, the highest was found in area with Candlenut as dominant trees (161 t C/ha), followed area by Mahogany and fruits produced 159 t C/ha, by with Cacao (146 t C/ha), dominant by fruit tree (120 t/ha). Total carbon stock in Forest areas of Jangkok Watershed (12.680 ha) is about 2.02 M t with 25.1% is from CBFM

Abstract

Pond that happened in Soekarno Hatta Street Malang City reached height of ± 30 cm and duration of the pond was ± 25 minutes. This condition resulted in broken traffic band and people took a longer other band. One of the generated impact of the existence of the pond was the damage on hard surface of the street. The final goal of this activity was in order that drainage network system can perform well in a long time according to the plan so that it can endure evaluated from construction facet and its function. The method used was by analysing flood discharge that happened (Qa) 2,710 m3/s and channel capacity existing (Qke) 2,433 m3/s, hereinafter evaluated and its result was that the existing channel is unable to conduct water well. The evaluation of channel capacity in handling the problem of flood can be conducted by dimension repeat channel. Dimension of channel plan in the form of square made from concrete coat with the width of channel base is (b) 1,10 m and the height of water surface is (h) 0,65 m, obtained plan channel capacity (Qkr) 2,895 m3/s. Final result of analysis showed Qa < Qkr, the flood will not happen and capacity control (∆Q) = 6,8%

Abstract

Prigen district is one of the development zone of husbandary Jawi Pandaan Cow is East Java local breed one of the local breed which have similar characteristic with Bali cow. Aim of this research is to identify factors of empowered strategies of Jawi Pandaan cow’s farmer at Prigen district in order to conservation. This research used simple random sampling method. Materials research were 88 farmer who have 381 cows. Data analized using descriptive analysis. Conclusion of this research showed that empowered strategies of Jawi Pandaan cow’s farmer at Prigen district in order to conservation need regulation which protect the purebred, and empowered strategies by people centered, participatory, empowering and sustainable priciples. Need other programs, such as elite bull program, market orientation for production system, integrated and continously famer welfare development program
