Abstract

Abstract This study aims to reveal the factors that encourage students choose courses Education Engineering Building FT-UNP in terms of intrinsic and extrinsic factors. This research is descriptive. Total population of 65 students of Technical Education Building (S1) forces in 2014, with a sample of 56 students. Samples were taken with a probability sampling technique type of simple random sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire with Likert scale using four answer choices. The number of statements in the questionnaire as much as 40 point statement. These results indicate that the factors that encourage students to choose courses consist of two factors, namely intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Intrinsic factors consist of interests, abilities, and goals. The dominant factor is the intrinsic interest of the students themselves. While extrinsic factors consist of family, peers, teachers, and economics. Extrinsic factors that encourage students choose courses Education Engineering Building is the economy. Abstract

Abstract The background of this research is the lack of student learning outcomes in subjects Building Materials. This study apply cooperative learning model type Two Stay Two Stray. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is influence of cooperative learning model type Two Stay Two Stray to the learning outcomes of students of class X Building Construction engineering in program engineering drawings in SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman. This research includes a real experimental study with randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest design. The population of this research were 78 students of class X which consists of 5 classes. The sample in this study selected two classes of grade X TGB 1 group B as experimental class, meanwhile X TGB 2 group D as the control class. The instruments used in this study is pretest and posttest in the form of 35 objective questions that have been tested for validity, reliability, power index of difficulty and difference of each questions. Data were analyzed using t-test (two average differences) that uses the value of the gain scores (the difference between the pretest and posttest). The results of this study showed that the experimental class has an average score of pretest was about 51,81 and posttest score was about 81,71. Meanwhile the control class has an average score of pretest was about 51,79 and posttest score was about 72,32. It can be seen that there is an increase in the learning outcomes of students in class at the experimental class. After the t test obtained t = 3,578 and t table = 2,045 at significance 0,05. So we can conclude that cooperative learning model type two stay two stray has significant influence towards learning outcomes in building construction subject. This research is recommended for SMK teachers to use cooperative learning model type Two Stay Two Stray in Building Construction course. Abstract This research is motivated from the persistence problem Bidikmisi students who obtained GPA below 2.75, so the scholarship Bidikmisi discontinued. One purpose of the scholarship Bidikmisi that ensure the sustainability of the student to complete the study. This study aims to determine the achievement of program objectives Bidikmisi scholarship students FT UNP.This research was conductedon the candidates Bidikmisi year in 2011 in the FT UNP. The number of samples in this study were 83 respondents. Types and sources of data are the primary data derived from questionnaires given to 83 respondent sand secondary data Bidikmisi year scholarship recipients entered 2011 FT UNP. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire with Likert scale, data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis. The results showed 73.11% of students study the sustainability of 65.14% and student achievement in academic and non-academic in the high category, it indicates that the purpose of the scholarship program is reached. But there are some who have not reached the goal, so the goal of the scholarship program Bidikmisi FT UNP student enrollment year 2011 has not been fully achieved. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is knowing the relation between student expectations for teachers with student learning achievment in science subjects statics and voltage class X program expertise Stone and Concrete Engineering SMK N 5 Padang 2014/2015. This research is descriptive correlational. The number of samples in this study were 27 students, the selection of the sample using total sampling technique for a student population of just 27 students. Data were collected through questionnaires student expectations and learning outcomes data through documentation of the midterm results of class X program expertise Stone and Concrete Construction Engineering. Test requirements analysis using normality test, linearity and correlation test. The analytical method used is simple regression correlation analysis. The results of of research that there is a positive correlation between student expectation of student learning achievment, evidenced r hit price (0.889) greater than r tab (0.381). The coefficient of determination indicates that the contribution to the student learning achievment for 79%. It can be said that influence student expectation and students learning achievment are very high. Keywords: Students Expectation, Student Learning Achievment

Abstract

Abstract This research was motivated by the number of students who score low in Detailed Building Drawings course and their poor study habits, including habits in arranging study plan and schedule, attending classes, reinforcing courses, and facing examination. This study aimed to determine the relationship between study habits and students’ academic achievement in Detailed Building Drawings course semester January-June 2014 in Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering of the State University of Padang. The type of this research is a correlational research. The population of this research is students majoring Civil Engineering who took Detailed Building Drawings course in semester January-June 2014.  Samples were taken by using Taro Yamane formula. Independent variable (variable X) is study habits of students, and dependent variable (variable Y) is students’ academic achievement. From analysis of correlation, r value of 0.064 with Sig. (2-tailed) 0.651 was obtained.  This value is greater than 0.05, means that there is no relationship between study habits and students’ academic achievement in Detailed Building Drawings course semester January-June 2014 in Civil Engineering Department, FT UNP. Compared with other relevant research that show significant contribution of study habits to academic achievement, it can be concluded that study habits do not affect academic achievement in practical courses. This research is recommended for the students to review more and practice to draw at home because Detailed Building Drawings is a kind of dominant  practice course which needs the students’ ability and creativity in drawings. Abstract

Abstract   This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to reveal the factors that influence the delay in the completion of studies students of Education Building Engineering Department of Civil Engineering FT-UNP. Allegedly there are two main factors causing delays in the student studies, which delays the completion of the course and delay the completion of the essay. Both of these factors then sought the cause in terms of both internal and external. The population in this study are students who have passed through the study of 8 semesters that of 2007, 2008 and 2009 were still active in the semester from January to June 2014. Samples were taken using the technique of "purposive proportional random sampling" with a sample size of 36 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire Likert scale models and the analysis of data using the formula percentage of degree attainment (DP). The conclusion from this study showed that the most dominant factor influence the delays in completion of the course of internal in terms of is the physical condition of the students (68.53% DP) and the external in terms of is the influence of the campus (DP 61.03%). Whereas most dominant factor influence the delays in completion of essay of internal in terms of the physical condition of students (71.76% DP) and in terms of interaction with the external is lecturers (DP 55.29%). The results of this study indicate that factors delays in completion of essay greater influence the than the study delays in completion of the course delays in factor.   Keywords: Factors, delays, study, course, essay.
