Abstract

Learning Indonesian is never separated from language skills which consist of four components. The four language components are listening skills, speaking skills, reading skills and writing skills. This study aims to see the effect of Canva media through discord on the ability to write short stories of students in class XI SMAN 35 Jakarta. The population in this study were all students of class XI SMAN 35 Jakarta, and the sample in this study was class XI IPS 2 SMAN 35 Jakarta. Sampling was done by simple random sampling. The research method used in this research is quantitative research experimentation. The type of experiment used is true experimentation with one group pretest and posttest design research design. The data in this study used statistical calculations by calculating averages, standard deviations, variances, correlations, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. The result can be seen that the value sig = 0.05, tcount 9.01632 and ttable17207. So H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted which means there is a significant influence on the policy-based canva media on the short story writing ability of students of class XI SMAN 35 Jakarta. Abstract

This research is that the social relations between the speaker and the interlocutor are reflected in power and solidarity. A speaker uses language not only to express but to create a representation of himself in relation to others with whom he interacts. The purpose of this study is to explain the forms of power and solidarity that occur in everyday life. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This study uses a sociolinguistic approach. This study explains the phenomena that occur in people's lives. This research uses the method of observing. The basic techniques used are observation techniques and note-taking techniques. The results of this study are to find out the various forms of power and solidarity from conversational sentences that occur in people's lives. Keywords: Power, Solidarity, Sociolinguistics

Abstract

This study discusses about language changes that exist in people's daily conversations. The language change that occurs is based on social factors, especially the social class of the society. This study describes about the language changes that exist in the surrounding community by looking at the factors and social class of the community and to describe the language chosen by the society based on the social class of the society. This research is qualitative research that has data in the form of society utterances that have changed according to the social class of the society. Data sources in this study are people who live in the environment around the writer. This research method uses the listen and note method. Researchers will identify speech that undergoes language changes based on three social classes of society, such as: upper social class, middle and lower. This study found differences in some language change use in daily conversation of the three social classes of society. The result of the study, the writer found 51 utterances that experienced about language changes based on the social class of the society, including (1) 21 utterances from the upper social class, (2) 19 utterances from the middle social class, and (3) 11 utterances from the lower social class. Abstract

This study aims to describe the inner conflict in the main role of Engtay, in the drama script Sampek Engtay by N. Riantiarno using Sigmund Freud's Theory. The method used is a qualitative descriptive research method. The data used in this study are dialogue sentences, monologues delivered by the main character in the drama, data collection techniques using library techniques and using corpus data tables. From the results of this study, there are several forms of inner conflict experienced by the main character, including pain, disappointment, confusion, anxiety, failure. These factors cause the main character's inner conflict with Raden Mas Darmaji as his father, Ray Retno as his mother and Sampek. There are three styles used by the main character in overcoming inner conflicts, namely the fox style, the mouse deer style, and the turtle style. Abstract

Literary works have several types such as novels, prose (fiction), poetry, drama, romance, and short stories or better known as poetry. In this research, the writer will examine the novel. Novel is a work of prose fiction written in writing, containing elements of imagination and fantasy. Literary criticism is an analysis that examines elements that contain errors. In literary criticism, it is usually more focused on the author's writing in his writings. Literary criticism is a field of literary science and usually applies to the evaluation of literary works. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with library techniques. In this case, the author uses the novel 00.00 A Pair of Luka that Ends Grief by Ameylia Falensia as research data. By reading it over and over again and determining the results of the research. There is a lot of violence in the novel. Both physical and non-physical violence. We never know someone's mentality, more precisely someone has a different mentality. Victims of violence usually experience trauma and fear in their daily lives and can even do things beyond reason, the perpetrator often ends in death, namely suicide because of the pressures of life that continue to be experienced. Abstract

This study examines the problem of locutionary and perlocutionary speech acts contained in the novel Kata by Nadhifa Allya Tsana (Rintik Sedu). This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used the free, involved conversation (SLBC) method. The data analysis technique used the determining element sorting method, a method whose determining tool was the speech contained in the novel Kata by Nadhifa Allya Tsana. The presentation of the results of data analysis uses the informal presentation method. The results of this research are locutionary speech acts, intentional effect perlocutionary speech acts, and accidental effect perlocutionary speech acts contained in the novel Kata by Nadhifa Allya Tsana. The locutionary speech acts contained in the novel Kata by Nadhifa Allya Tsana have five perlocutionary utterances that have an intentional effect and there are ten utterances that have an unintentional effect. It is called an intentional effect because the effect caused by the speech is in accordance with the intended speaker's intention. contained in the novel Kata there are eight speech data. The speech act perlocutionary effect contained in the novel Kata, there are two speech data. There are eight speech data of speech acts of intentional effect locution contained in the novel Kata. It is called an intentional effect because the effect caused by the speech is in accordance with the speaker's intention. It is called an unintentional effect because the effect caused by the speech is not in accordance with the speaker's intention. Abstract

The function of the Indonesian language is as a symbol of national pride, national identity, as a means of communication between citizens, regions and cultures, as well as a means of unifying tribes, cultures, and languages. There are several efforts made by the Indonesian government in internationalizing the Indonesian language, including: developing the Indonesian language both at home and abroad and protecting the Indonesian language through several journals that are recognized by the Indonesian government. BIPA is Indonesian language learning whose subjects are foreign speakers. BIPA is seen more as a learning factor. The author uses qualitative research methods with object observation models. Data collection techniques are carried out by emphasizing the meaning of generalization. By watching Youtube shows that contain elements of Indonesian culture, several YouTube channels show learning videos that introduce Indonesian culture, be it dance, batik cloth, to pencak silat and an introduction to culture in/in Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to determine the use of application-based audio media and to determine the quality of application-based audio media for children with special needs with visual impairment. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Sources of data in this study were students with visual impairments. The data collection technique in this study used the literacy method (library study) by reviewing various literatures related to the use of audio media, education of children with special needs (Inclusive Education), and learning media. The results of this study are the use of audio media for blind children in learning Indonesian online is easy and can improve listening skills and application-based audio media has good quality seen from its easy use, economical cost, and has benefits that can help children with needs. specifically for the blind in learning Indonesian online. Abstract

Pragmatics is a branch of linguistics that studies the relationship between the context outside the language and the meaning of speech through interpretation of the situation in which it is spoken. There are many aspects of pragmatics; one of them is dealing with speech acts. Speech acts consist of many categories; one of them is directive speech act. This study aims to identify the directive speech act performed in “The Sea Beast” movie. Likewise, it will find out how often the directive speech act performed and which type of directive speech act that are most frequently used in the movie. This study used qualitative method in which data collection is done by watching the movie, analyzing the body movement and the dialogues of each character, and reading the script. A total of 50 directive speech acts were successfully identified. The result of analysis showed that the directive speech act of command is the most frequently used in the movie which had 15 data. The least frequently used directive speech act is warning which had 1 data. The study also revealed the importance of directive speech act in keeping the flow of storyline of the movie. This study is expected to give some useful insights in understanding what directive speech acts is. Keywords: pragmatics, directive speech act, The Sea Beast movie

Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain the symbol system contained in the Labuhan Sarangan. This research is a type of qualitative research based on an eclectic approach as an outcome of the collaboration of semiotics and hermeneutics theory. The researcher acts as a human instrument. The data of this research are verbal and nonverbal symbols. Verbal symbol data came from the speeches of the actors in the Labuhan Sarangan. Nonverbal symbol data came from the actions of the actors, equipment, and tools that support the implementation of the Labuhan Sarangan. Data collection was done by observing and interviewing Labuhan Sarangan. Data analysis is done in four stages, namely sorting data according to the range of problems, organizing data in formation and categorization, interpreting data based on empirical understanding, and evaluating data units to produce conclusions. The result of the study showed the findings on the shape, meaning, and function of the symbol. Findings in the form of symbols include verbal and nonverbal symbols. The verbal symbols findings include words or mantras or prayers and gamelan that is used as an accompaniment to the Labuhan Sarangan, which is spoken during the labuhan procession. Findings nonverbal symbols include the actions of the actors, equipment, and tools that support the implementation of the Labuhan Sarangan and the offerings used at the time of the Labuhan Sarangan. The findings on the meaning of symbols include religion, ethics, and philosophy. The function of symbols findings includes the purpose of knowledge, outlook on life, group solidarity, mediation, communication, and participation.
