JURNAL MEDIA PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM is a journal published by the Sunan Giri Surabaya University Graduate Program. This journal is published twice a year, November and July. Journal of Media Journal of Islamic Religious Education is a journal that accommodates several articles on the study of Islamic education, especially the Islamic Education and Research Orientation which covers several areas of related Tarbiyah such as Educators, Educational Sciences, Observed Educational Locations from several disciplinary perspectives. It is expected that with the publication of the Media Journal of Islamic Education, it will add to the scientific repertoire of Islamic Education studies

Abstract

Kajian tentang Agama Islam tentang paradigma pemahaman tentang “agama”, dari yang dahulu terbatas pada “idealitas” ke arah historitas, dari yang hanya berkisar pada “doktrin” ke arah entitas “sosiologis”, dari diskursus “esensi” ke arah “eksistensi”menarik bagi para peneliti Barat, salah satunya adalah Charles J. Adam. Charles J. Adams menggunakan dua disiplin ilmu, yaitu sejarah agama dan studi Islam sebagai kerangka teoritis guna menganalisis lebih tajam tradisi Islam yang selanjutnya ia merekomendasikan dua pendekatan yaitu pendekatan normatif dan deskriptif, pendekatan normatif dapat dikelompokkan pada tiga hal, yaitu pendekatan misionaris tradisional, pendekatan apologis, dan pendekatan simpatik (ironik). Sedangkan  pendekatan deskriptif dibagi menjadi tiga macam yaitu pendekatan deskriptif filologis – historis, pendekatan ilmu sosial, dan pendekatan fenomenologi (phenomenological Approach).

Abstract

Pemikiran Abid al-Jabiri yang ia lancarkan melalui “Kritik Nalar Arab”-nya merupakan pemikiran untuk menuju langkah progresif yang patut untuk disambut. Abid al-Jabiri berhasil memmotret dan memetakan atas epistemologis dan ideologi yang berkembang di dunia Arab yang begitu kental memberikan warna baru dan ciri khasnya tersendiri. Latar belakang pendidikan yang mumpuni dalam memahami secara rigid philosophical approaches menjadikan al-Jabiri berhasil memrikan tawaran solusi untuk memecahkan stagnasi yang terjadi di dunia Arab yang berlangsung sepuluh Abad lebih. Walaupun demikian, sebagai seorang pembaca, kita seharusnya mengambil jarak dan tidak bersikap taken for granted terhadap pemikiran al-Jabiri. Sikap tersebut dibutuhkan agar penilaian yang terjadi terhadap sebuah pemikiran diharapkan objektif dan tidak memihak

Abstract

After the implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) at the end of December 2015, not many pesantren are ready to face it. There are those who survive to continue all the traditions (culture) inherited from generation to generation, without any change, innovation and improvisation. But there are also pesantren who try to transform based on the needs of the times. The case of Pondok Pesantren Darul 'Ulum, Rejoso, Peterongan, Jombang, East Java is one of the pesantren that at the beginning of the MEA has started the step of change by preparing human resources santri who go global / go ASEAN without leaving a religious feature thick with pesantren. This research seeks to reveal the transformation of pesantren culture in Pondok Pesantren Darul Ulum, Rejoso, Peterongan, Jombang and the extent of its impact on human resource competition after the implementation of MEA. Uses qualitative method with case study approach which gives detailed description about the background and nature of an event to describe the case by understanding the meaning and phenomenon. The results show that Pesantren Darul 'Ulum has been very adequate as an Islamic Education Institution preparing for the competitive generation in facing the challenge of free market in ASEAN region
