Abstract

This article was written to: (a) present a description of the manuscript ofUraian Pepatah Adat Nagari Dek Panghulu oleh Datuk Palito, (b) presents the text of the script interpretation of Uraian Pepatah Adat Elok Nagari Dek Panghulu oleh Datuk Palito, and (c) presents the text of Pepatah Adat Elok Nagari Dek Panghulu oleh Datuk Palito. This research is a philology research. The object of this research is Uraian Pepatah Adat Elok Nagari Dek Panghulu oleh Datuk Palito text. The research method used is descriptive method and the method of philological research that is adapted to the research stages. At the data collection stage used field study and literature study. The results of this research are (1) a complete description of the manuscript, (2) the transcription of literature that can be read and understood by contemporary society about the importance of the role of the penghulu in Minangkabau and the qualities that must be possessed by a penghulu, (3) text that has been adapted to Indonesian Spelling (EBI). In the text of the Description of Adat Elok Nagari Dek Panghulu by Datuk Palito it is found a variety of old Malay and some Minangkabau language vocabulary that is maintained to keep the purity of the vocabulary.Keywords: change of script, transfer of language, text, philology

Abstract

This paper aims to: (a) present the tansliteration of the teks Inilah Kitab yang Bernama Parukunan Karangan Syeh Al-Alim Mufti Jamaluddin bin Al-Alim Al-Fadhil Syeh Muhammad Arsyad Mufti Banjar, (b) presents the tanslation of the text Inilah Kitab yang Bernama Parukunan Karangan Syeh Al-Alim Mufti Jamaluddin bin Almarhum Al-Alim Al-Fadhil Syeh Muhammad Arsyad Mufti Banjar. This research is a philology research, by using descriptive method at data processing stage. The object of this research is the text Inilah Kitab yang Bernama Parukunan Karangan Syeh Al-Alim Mufti Jamaluddin Bin Almarhum Al-Alim Al-Fadhil Syeh Muhammad Arsyad Mufti Banjar. The method used in this study is adapted to the research stages. In this study the method used is the standard edition method. In the transfer phase, alpha script is used and at the transfer stage the language is used by the transfer method. The results of this study present the text tansliteration and translation of the teks Inilah Kitab yang Bernama Parukunan Karangan Syeh Al-Alim Mufti Jamaluddin bin Al-Alim Al-Fadhil Syeh Muhammad Arsyad Mufti Banjar which has been adapted to the Indonesian Spelling (EBI). Some of the Malay and Minangkabau vocabularies found in this text are retained.Keywords: transliteration, translation, text, philology

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe (1) forms of expression of insult, (2) the function of expression, (3) the context of the use of expression of verbal abuse in the village of Koto Laweh Subdistrict Tanjuang Baru Tanah Datar District. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive method. The subject of this study is a sentence or speech that contains the expression of insults used by the community in the Village Koto Laweh Tanjuang Baru District Tanah Datar. The data taken are analyzed by the following steps: (1) transcribing existing data from various sources into written language, ie from recorded data, interviews, and observations, (2) classifying forms of insults by function and context, (3) ) analyzing the data according to the research objectives, (4) formulating the research findings. There are three findings in this study. First, based on the form, the expression of insults in the verbal violence used by the community in Koto Laweh Village Tanjuang Baru Sub District can be classified into two types (a) expressions of word-shaped, (b) phrase-shaped expressions. Secondly, based on the phrase function of acquired speech in the village of Koto Laweh, there are 7 functions of expression, (1) as a means of expressing resentment, (2) expressing strong and extreme emotions, (3) as joke, means of expressing social intimacy, (5) insulting, (6) expressing frustration and irritation, (7) means of expression of amazement. Third, on the basis of forms of expression it is used in all contexts with reference to four speech situations, ie (a) higher speakers of the position and the relationship is familiar, (b) the speaker is higher in rank and the relationship is not familiar, (c) the speaker is more low his position and the relationship is familiar, (d) the speaker is inferior to his position and the relationship is not familiar.Keywords: form, function, context, invective

Abstract

This article aims to describe: (1) the structure of people's belief of agriculture expression and prohibition of farming in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan : (2) to describe the social function of people's trust expression prohibition in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This research type was qualitative research with descriptive method. Informant in this research was determined by purposive sampling technique, that is by determining informant first. The background of this research was in Kanagarian Lagan Hilir Punggasan Kecamatan Linggo Sari Baganti Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The instrument of this research was the researchers themselves recorders. The research data was collected through two stages, namely the recording of the oral tradition of the people's belief in the prohibition expression and the environmental stages of storytelling, the data validation using triangulation technique. Data were analyzed through the following steps: (1) data inventory stage, (2) stage of coverage, (3) data analysis, (4) stages of data analysis and discussion phase, (5) stage of reporting. The result and findings of agriculture expression and prohibition of farming in Kanagarian Lagan.Keywords: structure, social function, expression of prohibition

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research to describe violations of the principles of linguistic politeness regent in West Sumatera in the social media. This study uses qualitative research in descriptive form. The data of this research was social media regent in West Sumatera Barat, especially Facebook. The steps used in the form of screenshoting, transcribing, observing, and clasificating the data include in the violation of linguistic politeness. The analysis of data is done through classifying data, analyzing data, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions. The result of data analysis show that from 450 sentence of regent in West Sumatera, found the use principle of linguistic politeness as 439 sentences and who violated as 11 sentences. Based on the results of the data can be concluded the speech regent in West Sumatera in social media categorized polite.Keywords: linguistic politeness, regent, social media

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe: (1) the kind of persona pronoun in langgam kato nan ampek on kaba klasik Minangkabau; (2) the function of persona pronoun usage in langgam kato nan ampek on kaba klasik Minangkabau. The kind of this research is qualitative research using descriptive method. This research data is the sentences which contain persona pronoun element in langgam kato nan ampek on kaba klasik Minangkabau. The sources of this research are kaba si buyuang karuik, sabai nan aluih, putri nilam cayo, and kaba sutan lembah tuah. This research have been collect in the following way: 1. Clarify according with the purpose of the research 2. Analyze and interpret data based on the theory usage; 3. Conclude the data and 4. Make research report. The result of this research is. first, found three types of persona pronomina in langgam kato nan ampek on kaba klasik Minangkabau, that is 1. first person(single) den/aden, ambo, denai and first person (plural) kami,awak,kito; 2. Second person (single) kau/wakau,ang/waang and second person (plural) kalian,wakkalian; and 3. Third person (single) nyo/inyo, baliau. Second, found four function of persona pronoun in langgam kato nan ampek on kaba klasik Minangkabau, that is: 1. Kato mandaki 2. Kato manurun 3. Kato malereang and 4. Abstract

This article is purposed to describe social structure and function of prohibitive proverb about death and funeral custom of Jorong Koto Panjang society at Sungai Tarab village Tanah Datar regency. Literature used in this study was folklor theory. This study was qualitative study with descriptive method and content analysis which was explained facts that determined in study object to describe structure and function of prohibitive proverb about death and funeral custom of Jorong Koto Panjang society at Sungai Tarab village Tanah Datar regency. this study was conducted by anlysis study object with these measures: (1) describe structure of prohibitive proverb, (2) describe funcion of social believe in prohibitive proverb. Structure in this prohibitive proverb consisted of two parts which were double structure and triplet structure. Double structure was causal and effect, and triplet structure was sign, conversion, and effect. next, function of social believe was used to increase faith, imaginary projection system, education, prohibition, and instruction. based on data analysis, the conclusion was prohibitive proverb about death and funeral custom of Jorong Koto Panjang society at Sungai Tarab village Tanah Datar regency had 36 proverbs that consisted of 34 double structure proverbs and 36 triplet structure proverbs with function as prohibition and increasing faith, four function as imaginary projection system, 12 as education, and 31 as instruction.Keywords: structure, social function, expression of prohibition

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe: (1) the form of adjectives and (2) the level (level) adjectives in the ad magazine Gogirl !. This research type is qualitative research by using descriptive method. The data of this research are sentences containing the element of adjective in the advertisement of Gogirl! Magazine. The source of this research data is Gogirl magazine! as many as 13 magazines. Data were collected by: (1) observing the data and (2) identifying the data. Data analysis is done by: (1) classifying data, (2) analyzing and interpreting data based on the theory used and (3) summarizing the data. Based on the data analysis found two research results. First, we find two forms of adjectives in Gogirl! Magazine ads, namely (1) basic adjectives and (2) derived adjectives, ie (a) baffled adjectives consisting of prefixes and suffixes, (b) repeated reduplication (dwilingga), (c) multiple adjectives, combination of two free morphemes, and (d) class displacement injections in the form of deverbalization adjectives. Second, there are four levels of adjectives, namely (1) positive level, marked with tipis, tinggi, bagus, pas; (2) the comparative level, characterized by a lebih mulus, lebih cerah, lebih aman, lebih tebal; (3) superlative level, marked terkecil, terbaru, terdekat, paling sehat; and (4) excessive levels, marked by the word ketagihan, keharuman mewah, super lengkap, maksimal.Keywords: adjectives, forms, levels, advertisement.

Abstract

The aims of this research are (a) to describe the structure of folklore of local legend Batu Galeh in Kenagarian Sungai Antuan Mungka, district Lima Puluh Kota. (b) todescribe the social function of folklore of local legend namely Batu Galeh in Kenagarian Sungai Antuan, Mungka Sub-district, Lima Puluh Kota. This research type is qualitative research with descriptive method. Data of this research is local folklore legend of Batu Galeh. The data technique collection is done in two stages. The first stage, the stage of recording the folklore of local legend Batu Galeh and then the result of recording is transcribed. Next, transcription results will be translated from local language Minangkabau in Kenagarian Sungai Antuan Mungka district Lima Puluh Kota into Indonesian language. The second stage, collecting data about the enviroment story. The result of this research is found that in the folklore of local legend Batu Galeh has 2 characters, advanced groove, and background of place of kampung, rantau, and place of rest, background of time happened in ancient time and some atmosphere background that is happy, sad, sorry. The social functions found are identity, education, social control and group identity.Keywords: Structure, Social Function, Batu Galeh

Abstract

The type of this research is qualitative research using descriptive analysis method. The object of this research is the novel by Kalatidha Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The completion technique of the data is done as follows. First, read and understand about the novel of Kalatidha by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Second, to inventory the data related to political conflict, as well as the impact of conflict in Kalatidha's novel by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Third, the grouping of the data that related  to indicators of political conflict, that is rulers between people in authority with society and both one society with the others and indicators of the causes of political conflict consisting of struggles and disputes, and the effects of political conflicts, namely culling, killing, torture, arson, detention without prosecuted, restriction, and defamation contained in Kalatidha's novel by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The results of the research as follows. First, the political representation arises because the authors are not satisfied with the reality of political events, political conditions and political events of the New Orde regime of the G30S/PKI in Indonesia . The event is represented in the form of political conflict. The cause of political conflict between one society and another provoked by the policy of the authorities. Second factors that causing political conflict are caused by the struggle and opposition of the people toward the authorities. Third, the impact of political conflicts such as culling, killing, torture, arson, detention without prosecuted, restriction, and defamation.Keywords: representation, political, conflict, Kalatidha
