Abstract

Bioagumentation by used of nonsimbiotic N2 fixing Azotobacter  is a way to enhance soil N availability in sustainable Agricultural land.  A green house experiment has been done to verify effect of Azotobacter sp. inoculation in two soil order, Inceptisols and Entisols, on NH4+danNO3- content , N uptake as well as Azotobacter population in rhizosphere soil of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.). Experiment was set up in Randomized Block Design with eight treatments and three replicates, sorghum was maintained in green house until maximum vegetative phase. Resuls showed that Azotobacter sp. AS4 was more enable to increase the availability of soil N rather than isolate AS3.  Bacterial  bioaugmentation with Azotobacter sp. AS4 on Inceptisols increased more NO3-, Azotobacter sp. population in soil rhizosphere and shoot height of sorghum genotype 2.24.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the cutting eksplan banana (Musa paradisiaca) c.v. Ketan and the granting of several concentrations of coconut water to the growth and development of in vitro eksplans. This research was carried out in the laboratory of Biotechnology , Faculty of agriculture, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, from August 1995 to  November 2013. This study used a Randomized Complete Design (RAL) with two factors. The first factor was the cutting eksplan (b) consisting of two levels, namely eksplan without slashing eksplan (b1) and (b2) halved. The second factor was the coconut water (e), which consists of six levels, namely 0%/l (e1), 3%/l (e2), 10%/l (e3), 3%/l (e4), 20%/l (e5) and 25%/l (e6). Each treatment was repeated as many as 3 times so that there are 36 units attempted. The observation was done every day to grow the buds and time each week to the high number of variables buds, shoots as well as at the end of the observation to the independent living eksplan percentage, the percentage of contaminated eksplan, the percentage of dead eksplan and eksplan form the percentage of roots. Cutting eksplan gave no real influence in banana. Giving coconut water gives a real influence over time grow shoots, buds and high number of shoots banana. The best coconut water coconut water at concentrations of 20%/l MS media.

Abstract

Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.)is one of hleafy vegetables that have high economic value in Indonesia and it gives good benef its ton the con sumers. The us of organic fertilizers is expected to be more optimal in agriculture today, considering the impact that the use of inorganic fertilizers may damage the soil and increasing environmental pollution with chemical residues in the soil, which result in decreased land productivity. This study aimed  to determine the effect of Bioboost fertilizer to increase crop yield of lettuce. Treatment were arranged in a Randomized Block Design, with one factor namely the concentration of Bioboost fertilizer consisting of 7 treatments:  B0=0 cc (control), B1= 20 cc, B2= 40 cc, B3= 60 cc, B4= 80 cc, B5=100 cc  per liter of water, and B6 = 120 cc / liter of water, with 3 replications so that there were 21 experimental units. Each treatmental unit consisted of 8 plants so that overall there were 168 plant populations. These results indicated  that concentration of Bioboost bio-fertilizers gave a significant effects on the growth of lettuce. Fertilizer cencentration of 80 cc / liter of water (B4) was the best concentration for growth and increased yield of lettuce.

Abstract

Tina Wai watershed area 48,132 ha, located in the South Buru and serves as a provider of water for the local community. Land Capability Evaluation and Tina Wai Watershed Land Use in South Buru, Maluku Province, has been performed in order to determine the land capability classification level, and determine the direction and pattern of land use in accordance with their respective land capability class. The research method is a survey method with a pattern of synthetic and analytical approach with a flexible range of observation following the change in shape of physiographic and land use. The results found that Tina has 6 Wai watershed land capability class, ie class III, IV, V, VI, VII, and VIII with factor inhibiting dominated by undulating slopes to very steep, erosion rates to very heavy weight, medium texture soil, permeability rather fast to slow, moderate sensitivity to erosion, rock gravel of moderate-to-many, and the threat of flooding rather frequently. Land capability class has the most extensive is the fourth grade with an area of 24.636 ha, or 51.19%. Referrals for agricultural land use is 29,184.75 ha or 61.89; for plantations, livestock and forest production by 8396.75 ha or 17.38%; for the protected forest of 6,941.25 ha or 14.42%; and for the nature reserves of 3036.00 ha or 6.31%.

Abstract

This study aims was to determine the potential of water fern Azolla pinnata combined with biofertilizer (Azotobacter chroococcum N2-fixing bacteria and Pseudomonas cepaceae phosphate solublelizing bacteria) in improving N and P content of the soil, and yield of paddy rice crops. This research was conducted in lowland Sanggar Penelitian Latihan dan Pengembangan Pertanian (SPLPP), Ciparay Bandung regency. The experimental design used was randomized block design with factorial pattern that consists of two factors. The first factor that A. pinnata (A) consists of two levels, without A. pinnata and A. pinnata with as 3 tons ha-1. The second factor is the biological fertilizer (H) consists of 3 levels with doses of 0, 5, and 10 L ha-1. The results showed A. pinnata and biofertilizer do not interact to increased soil N and P, as well as lowland rice crops. However, A. pinnata independently can increase the content of available N and P soil, while the biofertilizer 10 L ha-1 is able to increase the available soil-P content compared with controls. The combination of A. pinnata and biofertilizers have not been able to increase the yield of rice significantly, but can increase the yield of rice by 16.1 % compared to the average yield of rice in paddy field locations in Ciparay Bandung regency

Abstract

Andisols are considered as productive soils, but their P-retention have to be reduced to increase the available P.  This research concerning the remediation of Andisols with steel slag and bokashi of husk to overcome the P problem and to investigate their  influence  to soil physical aspects.  The treatments were arranged in Randomized Block Designed in factorial pattern with two factors: steel slag and bokashi of husk, consisted of four level: 0, 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 % of soil weight (w/w). The treatments were repeated twice, brought a combination of 4 x 4 x 2.  The soils with each treatments were mixed thoroughly, filled into the polybags, watered to the field capacity, closed tightly, incubated for four months, and sampled for chemical and physical analyses. The parameters were P-retention, bulk density, permeability and aggregate stability.  The result showed that steel slag and bokashi of  husk were interacted in decreasing P-retention.  These combination had no effect to soil physical characteristics which mean that the treatments did not aggravate the bulk density, soil permeability and aggregate stability. The remediation of Andisol with steel slag and bokashi of husk decreased the P-retention, and kept the good aspects of soil physical characteristics.
