Abstract

In the Malang Regency region, the issue of stunting is pressing. According to statistics showing the high rate of stunting in Malang Regency, a stunting management strategy must be put into place right away. To date, the issue has been whether policies at the upstream level address all the factors necessary to combat stunting. This study talks about how urgent municipal policies are, particularly for managing stunting. It should be mentioned that government policies currently in place are focused on improving and regulating food security, food quality, and program socialization. Additionally, both targeted and delicate treatments are a manifestation of the prevention of stunting. The heath industry performs specific interventions. The phenomenology of Malang Regency's stunting prevention strategies is revealed by this study. According to the study's findings, there are a number of issues that require immediate attention, particularly those that are local in nature, like local education on the marriage readiness index, particularly in areas with a high incidence of young marriage, like Tajinan sub-district. The health sector, as well as other connected sectors, must be involved in the regional follow-up to the village level of policies and regulations that are in place at the federal level. Due to the community's increased knowledge of the value of a balanced diet and the readiness of parents at marriageable age, the community-based coping system needs to be improved once more. Localized coping strategies will undoubtedly.

Abstract

The fourth industrial revolution (industry 4.0) has prompted major changes and challenges in all sectors, including governments. A recent theory explains that one of the challenges is changing needs for public services, requiring appropriate responses from the governments, both at national and regional levels. Departing from this situation, this study seeks to explore the readiness of regional governments to respond to the challenges. Through e-service assessment over applications developed by the Government of Malang Municipality, Malang Regency, and Batu Municipality (Greater Malang), document analysis, and focused group discussion, this study reveals several drawbacks of e-services, namely personnel’s readiness, users’ preparedness, flexibility, integration among applications, lack of socialization, weak support and commitment from leaders, low budget, and infrastructure constraints. These findings confirm previous studies on barriers to e-service delivery. This study also strengthens previous researches on the readiness of governments to meet the challenges of the revolution regarding the importance of administrative innovation initiatives and the role and commitment of leaders. Grounded on the logic beyond the implementation of e-services, this study offers an academic framework concerning the categories of regional governments’ preparedness to deal with the revolution’s challenges, namely the level of readiness for initiation, development, and sustainability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the development of the public value creation’s concept in the context of local government in the last twenty years (2002 – 2022). The 177 scientific publications in the form of articles and conference papers that were selected from the Scopus Database were further analyzed using bibliometric analysis, which combined performance analysis and science mapping techniques. The analysis results show an increase in the number of publications dominated by western countries which can be categorized into five research clusters: e-government, smart city, public governance, co-creation, and public management. The researcher recommends fifteen research topics that can be explored further in future research.

Abstract

Digital-based public services have an essential urgency in increasing efficiency, accessibility, transparency, and responsiveness of services to the public. This allows for significant improvements in governance. This research aims to analyze the implementation of services by local governments, especially at the One Stop Integrated Services Investment Service (DPMPTSP) of Rokan Hilir Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach using Online Research Methods (ORMs) as a data collection method. ORMs utilize the internet and other digital technologies to collect data and information. In this research, ORMs include data collection from official government websites. The analysis tool that is maximized is Nvivo 12 Plus. This research shows that implementing website-based digital public services faces obstacles and challenges that need to be overcome. Limited internet access, technology gaps, concerns regarding security and privacy, and limited resources are the primary concerns. However, the government can overcome these obstacles by investing in internet infrastructure, digital literacy programs, and collaboration with the private sector. Integrating digital public services can increase the efficiency, accessibility, transparency, and accountability of public services and build public trust in the government. In facing this challenge, the government needs to take appropriate policy steps to ensure the success and sustainability of inclusive and sustainable digital public services.

Abstract

Baduy are attached to the forest, and the environment depends on forest management. On the other hand, the role and involvement of Baduy women are no less important in forest management to encourage food security for them and their families. This research uses the theory of gender equality; it aims to capture the gender gap in forest management through social forestry programs in the Baduy community to encourage food security. By using a qualitative descriptive method, this research seeks to let reality reveal itself naturally. The study results show that gender inequality still exists in managing social forestry in the Baduy community. This gender inequality can be seen in the minimum absence of access for Baduy women involved in social forestry management. The domestic role of Baduy women dominates in food security efforts through social forestry, but the public role of Baduy women farmers is almost nonexistent. Women's control over social forestry is also limited to the domestic role in the household. In contrast, control in forestry is held by male farmers, with all decisions in the hands of men, making it difficult for women to be present and actively involved. However, this social forestry benefits both male and female farmers, whereas women obtain these benefits indirectly through their husbands, who are actively involved as managers of social forestry.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on all sectors, especially the economy in Indonesia and the regions, one of which includes Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Data from the DIY Cooperatives and UMKM Service shows that 59% of MSMEs have experienced the direct impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, on the other hand MSMEs have a very strategic role in improving the Indonesian economy. Kulon Progo Regency is one of the districts that has a solution to overcome the problem of marketing MSME products, one of which is belabeliku.com. Having this solution does not mean there are no problems, because there are many MSMEs in Kulon Progo Regency who do not understand digital literacy well. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, one of the techniques is interviews and documentation, besides that this research also utilizes the artificial intelligent Nvivo 12 plus as an analytical tool. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the government has made a special policy by providing training for MSME actors, collaborating with the Yogyakarta Regional Development Bank (BPD) in providing electronic payment services, and creating a marketplace platform. With the policies that have been made, it will be very helpful for MSME actors, especially the platform creation policy in marketing MSME products. However, the platform created is not adequate and optimal, besides that the platform created is still unable to compete with other marketplace applications.

Abstract

The urgency of managing natural resources, especially customary forests, is increasing along with climate change and environmental degradation, which threaten the sustainability of the global ecosystem. This research aims to investigate the role of customary forest management in maintaining environmental sustainability and the welfare of local communities while identifying institutional capacity to achieve these goals. This research involves an in-depth case study of the Customary Forest Management Group (KPHA) in Rantau Kermas Village. Data sources were obtained through interviews, documentation and observation. This study also utilized the Nvivo 12 Plus analysis tool to assist with data coding. This research reveals that effective customary forest management can maintain a balanced ecosystem, protect biodiversity, and provide economic benefits to local communities. Strengthening institutional capacity through community participation, strong regulations, and collaboration with various related parties is the key to achieving this goal. This research implies the importance of supporting and developing sustainable customary forest management practices and strengthening institutional capacity to ensure environmental sustainability and the welfare of local communities in the future.
