Abstract

PCI Express is a high-speed serial connection that operates more like a network than a bus. PCI Express will serve as a general purpose I/O interconnects for a wide variety of future computing and communications platforms. PCI Express (PCIe) is implemented with a split-transaction protocol that provides more bandwidth and is compatible with existing operating systems. PCI Express has three discrete logical layers: the Transaction Layer, the Data Link Layer, and the Physical Layer. This paper  analyze and simulates the function of Transaction layer IP core in the System Level with top-down design method, wrote the codes to implement Transaction Layer using Very high speed hardware description language (VHDL) and provided the simulation results using Active HDL Simulation tool. The simulation result shows that the designed IP core meets the required protocol specifications for the proper functioning of PCI Express Transaction layer.

Abstract

Wireless mesh network plays an vital role in our day to day life, Networks are mainly used to deliver voice, video and data but using WMN’s we can communicate in outdoor environments without wired. A wireless mesh can deliver network capacity, reliability and security along with the flexibility. Nowadays the WMN’s are used by municipalities, public safety agencies, port authorities, and industrial organizations to connect to their workers and constituents. However, many technical issues still exist in this field. In order to provide a better understanding of the research challenges of WMNs,   In this paper we propose MobiSEC, a complete security architecture protocols and algorithms for WMNs that provides both access control for mesh users and routers as well as a key distribution schemes that supports layer-2 encryption to ensure security and data confidentiality of all communications that occur in the WMN.

Abstract

Human Development Index is a key indicator of a country’s development as formulated by the United Nation. It determines a country’s progress in three main areas: Life Expectancy, Education and Income. A number of researches have been made for the understanding of how the different factors that together make up the Human development Index are correlated and to what extent each of them affects the HDI value. However, there are always certain unpredictable events that directly or indirectly affect the Human Development Index. Our project aims to incorporate the interdependencies between different factors of the HDI with the simulation of random events in an artificial population to establish the HDI value. This value is future forecasting as the HDI value output would be based upon the input values given by the user, including a certain number of years after which HDI is to be determined. The user would also have other options available to him which he can use to determine the HDI value. That is, after changing the values of various different factors upon which HDI depends by his own choice, the user can effectively study different elements affecting HDI. This can prove to be a great convenience in policy making. Genetic Algorithm is a technique that mimics the process of natural evolution. The essence of Genetic Algorithm is being employed in this system to generate artificial agents for Pakistan’s entire population. This population (represented as chromosomes of bit strings) would then undergo various genetic operations like fitness evaluation, cross-over and mutation. Then after certain generations of the initial population have evolved after a specific number of years as input by the user, the Human Development Index value would be calculated. This value would be determined from the statistical analysis of the population. This analysis has been encoded in the system and is result of extensive study of various research articles and books that facilitate in understanding how socio-economic parameters affect each other and the HDI.

Abstract

The technique for compressioning the Images has been increasing because the fresh images need large amounts of disk space. It is seems to be a big disadvantage during transmission & storage of image. Even though there are so many compression technique already presents and have better technique which is faster, memory efficient and simple, and friendly with the requirements of the user. In this paper we proposed the method for image compression and decompression using a simple coding technique called Huffman coding and show why this is more efficient then other technique. This technique is simple in implementation and utilizes less memory compression to other. A software algorithm has been developed and implemented to compress and decompress the given image using Huffman coding techniques in a MATLAB platform.

Abstract

Fiber Raman amplifiers in ultra wide wavelength division multiplexing (UW-WDM) systems have recently received much more attention because of their greatly extended bandwidth and distributed amplification with the installed fiber as gain medium. It has been shown that the bandwidth of the amplifier can be further increased and gain spectrum can be tailored by using pumping with multiple wavelengths. Wide gain of the amplifier is considered where two sets of pumps NR {5,10} are investigated. The gain coefficient is cast under polynomial forms. The pumping wavelength lR is over the range 1.40 £ lR, mm £ 1.44 and the channel wavelength ls is over the range 1.45 £ ls, mm £ 1.65. Two multiplexing techniques are processed in long-haul transmission cables where number of channels is up to 10000 in ultra-wide wavelength division multiplexing (UW-WDM) with number of links up to 480. The problem is investigated over wide ranges of affecting sets of parameters.

Abstract

In wireless communications system, it is desirable to allow the subscriber to send simultaneously information to the base station while receiving information from base station. Multiple access techniques are used to allow many mobile users to share simultaneously a finite amount of radio spectrum. Frequency division multiple access (FDMA), time division multiple access(TDMA), and code division multiple access (CDMA) are the three major access techniques used to share the available bandwidth in a wireless communication system. In this paper we calculated the number of channels required for FDMA & TDMA techniques depending on various factors such as spectrum, channel band width etc.
