Abstract

This paper develops a novel simulation method that seeks to mitigate the effects of interference in a multipath prone environment for a DVB-T transmission by using the AWGN and the Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channel. The channel parameters were optimized until desired result was obtained. The reception performance of the DVB-T system shows that interference though not totally eliminated, can be minimized while transmitting in a multipath prone environment.

Abstract

In order to accommodate various multimedia services, next generation wireless networks are characterized by very high transmission rates. Thus, in such systems and networks, the received signal is not only limited by noise like Additive White Gaussian noise (AWGN) but especially with increasing data transmission rate by the Intersymbol Symbol Interference (ISI) due to time dispersion of channel. A number of techniques such as rake receiver in CDMA systems and equalizers in GSM systems have been proposed to combat the effect of fading so as to improve the performance of wireless communication network.  In this paper we evolve the performance of uncoded uplink transmission in broadband CDMA using beam forming technique under multipath conditions. The beam-former has been implemented using Transport Delay Line (TDL) filters.  An expression for the optimal weights of a TDL based beam former has been derived.  A carrier frequency of 2 Ghz has been used in this work as they are useful for next generation wireless systems.  Simulation results show that TDL beamformer can reduce the multipath fading and Multiple Access Interferance (MAI). It has been shown that if SNR (related with Variance of the channel) is maintained at 10 db and if a 3 ray based beamformer having 3 antennas with 3 taps is used, the Error Rate of 0.1was found without using channel coding.

Abstract

This paper is aim to predict nutrition status using by the Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI for men and women are obtained from the calorie needs. Calorie requirement is used to determine energy needs. The energy needs are determined by the needs of Protein, Carbohydrate, Fat, Vitamin and Mineral. The paper is made in the form of an application program using Mobile Programming. Mobile Programming by implementing Reverse Engineering. The tool used is a J2ME application on cell phone emulator having minimal CLDC, CDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0 and MIDlet. Main contribution, BMI as the simple, fast and easy to used method. BMI can be used to determine the nutrition status of individual. The benefit for individual reduce the cost of healthcare. The new result is the prediction of the nutrition status of individual using by BMI can be applied with new ways through the Mobile Application on Mobile Device, that is implemented to the cell phone. Mobile Application is a medium for the user can be accessed anytime and anywhere. It is known an application that can yield the rational decision in predicting the nutritious needs of families.

Abstract

In this paper, the performance of 1-bit hard combination decision scheme for cooperative spectrum sensing in Cognitive Radio has been studied to maximize the probability of primary user detection. Energy detector model is used to observe the presence of primary user signal. Simulation result shows that the probability of missed detection is decreasing for both conventional and 1-bit hard combination OR rule with increasing the probability of false alarm correspondingly. It also has demonstrated that 1-bit hard combination decision scheme exhibits comparable performance with the conventional one-bit scheme and thus achieves a good tradeoff between performance and complexity.

Abstract

In this paper a new geometry of patch antenna is proposed with improved bandwidth and circular polarization. The radiation performance of circularly polarized rectangular patch antenna is investigated by applying IE3D simulation software and its performance is compared with that of conventional rectangular patch antenna. Finite Ground truncation technique is used to obtain the desired results. The simulated return loss, axial ratio and smith chart with frequency for the proposed antenna is reported in this paper. It is shown that by selecting suitable ground-plane dimensions, air gap and location of the slits, the impedance bandwidth can be enhanced upto 10.15 % as compared to conventional rectangular patch (4.24%) with an axial ratio bandwidth of 4.05%.
