Abstract

In this paper Descending Viewer Method (DVM) projected for finding and fault tolerant control of stator inter-turn short circuit faults in doubly-fed induction generators based in wind turbine. A process has been developed that allows the way from ostensible controllers designed for strong condition, to vigorous controllers designed for defective condition. Finally value of the rotor resistance estimated & is based on the use of the error between real and probable value of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) in faulty condition, this will perk up the performance of this viewer. Simulation results show the reliability of the proposed Descending Viewer Method (DVM) approach.

Abstract

This paper proposes an ultra- modified symmetric sequence algoritm of space vector modulation of matrix converter. The ultra-modified technique improves the drawbacks of the modified one where it provides a reduction of the total harmonic distortion for both output voltage and output current. Some of the advantages of matrix converter are introduced in this paper. These advantages represented in the output frequency of matrix converter which may be greater than input frequency, controlling rms value of the output voltage and the ability to control the input displacement factor. At the end of this paper simulation and experimental results are introduced which give a presice proof to the proposed algorithms.

Abstract

Three-stage transformer less inverter is broadly utilized as a part of low power photovoltaic (PV) framework associated frameworks because of its little size, high proficiency and ease. At the point when no transformer is utilized as a part of a framework associated photovoltaic (PV) framework, a galvanic association between the lattice and PV exhibit exists. In these conditions, perilous spillage streams (basic mode ebbs and flows) can show up through the stray capacitance between the PV cluster and the ground. The previous, keeping in mind the end goal to make a galvanic separation between the info and the yield incorporate a transformer (obligatory in a few nations) that restrains the entire framework exhibitions as far as effectiveness, weight, size and cost. Actually, transformer less inverters don't present any separation and are described by minimal size, bring down cost and higher effectiveness (over 2% higher). In any case, the absence of transformers prompts spillage streams that can be hurtful to the human body, and in addition for the entire transformation framework uprightness. With a specific end goal to keep away from the spillage streams, different Transformer less inverters have been proposed utilizing diverse topologies to create consistent regular mode voltage. In this paper, different as of late proposed transformer less PV inverters are researched. Their exhibitions are thought about and broke down.

Abstract

The importance of extracting power from renewable energy sources are increasing in the modern world as the power demand is increasing day by day and the non renewable energy sources are getting dried up. Solar power is a domestic source of energy and its availability throughout the year makes it a primary target to solve this crisis. It will never produce any hazardous waste or pollution. But various issues like Power quality problems and Harmonic distortion seep in due to the intermittent nature of PV system. This paper proposes a cascaded H–bridge multilevel inverter for grid connected PV system with a flyback converter. This helps to achieve maximum power point tracking and also provides isolation which will further help to increase system efficiency. The DC–DC flyback converters are cascaded to generate multilevel output voltage. Then this multilevel dc output is given to H bridge inverter to generate multilevel output. A new control algorithm is used in this paper which combines voltage–hold Perturb and observe method and modified PWM algorithm which helps to achieve the best MPPT. The proposed topology is implemented in PSIM. The Simulation and Hardware results reveal that the suggested technique is highly.

Abstract

Offshore wind power plants are gaining importance in recent years, as there is adequate space available for its installation, high wind speed, no restriction on the size of turbine blades (no transportation and construction problem) and blades can be allowed to rotate at higher speed without any noise constraint, thereby increasing the rated power. However, the existing offshore wind farms face greater cost related challenges than those of onshore plants. The integration of offshore wind farm with onshore power grid is a complex issue. Feasible solutions for power transmission through cables from offshore wind farms to onshore are HVAC, line commutated HVDC  and  VSC-HVDC.  This paper analyses the various schemes for integration of offshore wind farm with onshore power grid and suggests that LFAC with submarine cable operating at 0.7 Hz is an optimal choice in obtaining better performances.

Abstract

Faults that might occur in inverter driven induction motor drives. In this paper, seven-level multi level inverter was taken up for testing of mitigation using redundant cell and the results were compared with five-level inverter to exhibit the performance of mitigation policy. This paper presents analysis of inverter feeding an induction motor drive when switch open and short fault occurs. When the fault occurs, the redundant cell activates and thus the drive system operates. In this paper, the function for redundant cell was explained with the results of drive system simulated in Matlab/Simulink.

Abstract

This paper presents a robust observer for sensorless speed control of doubly fed induction motor (DFIM), based on the slidin mode. In the first step, a model of the doubly fed induction motor fed by two PWM inverters with separate DC bus link is developed. In the second step and in order to provide a robust separate control between flux and motor speed a vector control by field oriented strategy applying a sliding mode regulator was implemented. Finally, speed estimation of a doubly fed induction motor based on sliding mode observer is presented. The simulation tests schow the effectiveness of the proposed method especially in the load disturbances, the change of the refrence speed and low speed. Also the influence of parameter variations will be studied by simulation

Abstract

A comparative analysis of three phase eleven level diode clamped multilevel inverter (DCMLI) and hybrid inverter is performed in this paper in which the later requires fewer carrier signals, less number of devices and gate drive circuits. The performance is evaluated using phase disposition (PD), alternate phase opposition disposition (APOD) and carrier overlapping (CO) sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) methods. The hybrid multilevel inverter has superior features over diode clamped multilevel inverters and is more efficient since the positive levels of the inverter that are generated  by high frequency switches (level generation part), are reversed by low frequency switches (polarity generation part) when the voltage polarity is required to be changed for negative polarity. Therefore, the overall cost and complexity of the hybrid inverter are greatly reduced particularly for higher inverter output voltage levels. Simulation is performed for three phase eleven level diode clamped multilevel inverter and hybrid multilevel inverter using MATLAB/Simulink for induction motor load and the total harmonic distortion is evaluated at different load torques.
