Abstract

In this paper, two artificial neural networks models, namely the multilayer feedforward neuralnetwork and the recurrent neural network are applied for Malaysia's load forecasting. A half hourlyload data is divided equally into three distinct sets for training, validation and testing.Backpropagation is selected as the learning algorithm whereas the transfer function for both hiddenlayer and output layer is sigmoid the function. The forecasting performances were compared betweenthese two models. The results show that, the sum squared error (SSE) of multilayer feedforwardneural network were the lowest hence the multilayer feedforward neural network is a better model fora half hourly Malaysia's load.

Abstract

This paper focuses on insurance against the small probability of causing really catastrophic climatechange may justify significantly curbing CO2 emissions. Such extreme non-linearities maybe exist.However predicting future global climate changes is extremely hazardous, and no-one can rule outthe possibility of surprise. This paper uses indirect method to get the possible scenarios that couldoccur, nor what costs or subjective probabilities to attach to most of the catastrophes that have beensuggested.

Abstract

Makalah ini membahas prosedur uji permutasi untuk masalah dua sampel saling bebas. Prosedurini merupakan alternatif dari uji Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney untuk menangani masalah dua sampelsaling bebas jika datanya tidak berdistribusi normal. Data yang akan digunakan untukmengaplikasikan metode tersebut diterapkan pada data sekunder mengenai waktu kegagalan duamerk mesin stripping yang digunakan dalam produksi obat-obatan di Lembaga Farmasi-DirektoratKesehatan Angkatan Darat Bandung Jawa Barat selama periode Maret 2004 sampai Juli 2005.Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan menunjukan bahwa rata-rata waktu perawatan mesin stripping merkChuan Yung sama dengan rata-rata waktu perawatan mesin stripping merk Ganson.

Abstract

Mutation in mtDNA becomes an interesting topic that needed to discuss. If someone has a mutationin his mtDNA, then it might be affect his health. Those effects could be some diseases or anothervariation that gives different characteristics. In study of mutation, there are two such things becomethe main problems: (1) does mutation occur dependently? and (2) what is the pattern? From theresearch (by 9 degrees of freedom χ2), DNA sequence shows a positional dependence. In addition, wecan also see a positional dependence in mtDNA sequence clearly (position i-1, i, i+1 are dependentwith i define as mutation) by sign test, which means, it is possibly that there is a pattern of mutation.This paper uses Markov chain to quantify the pattern and as results all bases will mutate if positioni+1 is C or cytosine (±40%). Moreover, A, C, and G will mutate (become T) if position i-1 is A oradenine (54.5%).

Abstract

Evaluasi program studi dapat dilakukan dari berbagai macam sudut pandang; misalnya, keefektifanpengelolaan, hasil, atau dampak/manfaat. Untuk melihat keberhasilan program studi secara totalseyogyanya ketiga sudut pandang evaluasi tersebut dilakukan secara simultan. Melalui ketigapendekatan evaluasi tersebut akan dapat diketahui tidak hanya kualitas pengelolaan dan hasil.tetapi juga sejauh mana program studi tersebut dihargai oleh masyarakat karena aspek manfaatnyayang besar. Indikator minimal yang dapat dijadikan acuan ada dalam PP No. 19 tahun 2005.Berdasarkan data lapangan (Laporan Semesteran) dari indikator minimal dalam makalah ini akandilihat gambarab PTS dalam bentuk peragaan grafis melalui metode BIPLOT.

Abstract

This paper focuses on identifying possible outliers based on Cox regression model. Forward searchmethod has been applied in several studies involving regression-based models such as linearregression and generalized linear model. The method starts with a pre-selected subset of a data set.The method moves forward through the data by adding observations one by one and progressivechanges in values of statistics are noted. In this paper, we extend the application of forward search insurvival data analysis. Currently, graphical methods are used to detect any significant changes invalues of the statistics. We propose a measure which may aid us in determining observations that areoutlier.
