Media massa cetak, elektronik dan online tidak pernah bisa dilepaskan dari pembicaraan mengenai demokrasi. Peran media dalam demokrasi sama pentingnya dengan peran partai politik. Tanpa media massa, keterbukaan dan akuntabilitas tidak mungkin terwujud dalam demokrasi kontemporer saat ini. Sebagai pilar keempat demokrasi, media dapat mendorong sistem politik yang lebih adil dalam beberapa aspek, misalnya membantu publik memahami kebijakan-kebijakan pemerintah, berpartisipasi dalam keputusan politik, dan menjaga agar para pejabat pemerintahan bertanggung jawab.

Communication Cross-culture is the process by which diverted the idea or the idea of a culture of the culture of the other and vice versa, and it can be between two cultures associated or more, in order to influence each other, whether it's for the good of a culture or to destroy a culture, or it could be an initial step of the process of acculturation (the merger of two cultures or that generate new culture). "culture is a complex whole, which has in it the knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, customs, other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society.

Media literacy will not be balanced, when the broadcast media as producers are not encouraged to become an institution that is "healthy". For the parallel suggested steps to eliminate the negative impact. Commitment, a sincere intention to make the media as a medium of learning, to educate the audience and think about the impact. Professionalism is valued media owners (reward and punishment) and have extensive knowledge, creativity, sophistication of taste. System, rules and ethics of a healthy broadcast industry; clear and enforced. Packaging exciting educational broadcasts, preferably involving the audience with visual communication experts, education experts, psychologists etc. and based on research. Make broadcast 'educational entertainment' or press 'education entertaining'. Open up opportunities and access for every group of people who are interested.

This paper describes the phenomenon of radio in Indonesia is experiencing a revival since the collapse of the new order and the emergence of democratic society and freedom of opinion and freedom of the press. However, of the approximately 948 radio in Indonesia which consists of 750 licensed commercial radio , radio 146 which is managed by the government and 52 radio station RRI , only about 35 radio stations are broadcasting organizes public opinion or provide a public space for the listener. Yet radio has the power as a specialized mass media , have raised the character of local knowledge , including the various problems in society that are local.

The existence of immigrant students causing cultural contact can not be avoided between groups of immigrant students with local students and surrounding communities. This study focuses on the reality of intercultural communication between immigrant students and local students in a campus environment at Communication Studies departement University of Langlangbuana Bandung. This study examines the mechanisms of interaction of immigrant students and local as well as the extent of their knowledge in carrying out social interaction within the community of Sunda, especially in the social environment of the campus, as well as obstacles that constraint. Using qualitative research methods through a phenomenological perspective. Technique data analysis was done descriptively by collecting data through interviews, observation through participation, and documentation. The information obtained from informants not only alone but also of the events and situations that are observed in this study. Interactions mechanism authors have described, divided into two or pattern of intra and inter-ethnic context. Their perception of Bandung and campus UNLA started slowly but surely changes in accordance with the interaction they are doing. Based on the results of the study authors make a typology of immigrant students are Egalitarian, Moderate, and Conservative. Barriers that occur can be derived from internal and external factors students themselves.

Today the application of CSR becomes increasingly important for the company. CSR has become a necessity for companies. The company's presence in the midst of society's dependence coined by people who are nearby. The relationship between the company and the community share the two sides of a coin that can not be separated. CSR also contributed positively to the relationship between the company and the community. Company as part of the community has a role in the community. Companies are not only economic benefits hunt alone, but also a concern for the environment and social welfare. State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) have a strategic role and functions, as executor of public services, balancing large private forces, and helped small business development. SOE CSR role in the preservation of rivers such as helping the government to regenerate the river Cikapundung as a public space and also regarding the handling of flooding in the area around the River Cikapundung Bandung. To find the best solution in the structuring of public space in this Cikapundung riverbank, is very important to develop a policy of restoration of the river that can balance the interests of economic, social and environmental sustainability sustainable.

Construction Indonesia is a program of activities undertaken by the Government as the organizer of the government which, besides acting as financial manager, the government carry out the mandate of the people to use the money for the benefit of the people of Indonesia. Countries, particularly Indonesia have valuable assets or property on Natural Resources self contained and has, not least on the wealth of assets Human Resources (HR) of his. Given the budget for the electronic media (television and radio) is quite large, to 'hook' of electronic media as a media partner. Another thing you can do is make some sort of event / talk show that is not only heard or seen at a glance by the audience and the information presented can be fully delivered. Talkshow material can also be packaged with a material that is loaded with educational aspects.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is a State Owned Enterprises (SOE) engaged in public transport. Until now, the use of the print media internal is still maintained by PT KAI as an internal communication media to tell the information about the company. The print media internal is called ‘Tabloid Kontak’. Tabloid Kontak is an acronym for communication between employees, which is estabilished since 1973 . The purpose of this research is to know the influence of personal motives on the usage of internal media towards the employees’ information needs of PT KAI with the use of internal media tabloid Kontak as an intervening variable. This research used some relevant theories such as communications, uses and gratification, public relations and information needs. The variables in this study are related and included the model of Uses and Gratification. Method of this research used is quantitative method and inferential analysis with associative approach. Respondents of the study involved 173 employees of head Office PT KAI, with the technique sampling used is propability sampling. Analysis data in this research was using path analysis. The results of this research indicate that personal motives affect the information needs of yhe employees (58,36%), personal motives affect the use of internal media tabloid Kontak (10,62%), the use of internal media tablod Kontak affect the information needs of the employees (28,11%) and personal motives affect the information needs of the employees through the use of internal media tabloid Kontak as an intervening variable (68,9%) and indirectly (17,3%).

Humans are social beings who have a need to constantly interact with other humans, the presence of the internet, especially social media change the style of interaction that was originally in person can now be done virtually, evenhumans can form a particular group without having to meet directly with each other via social media. Facebook is one of the social media are widely used in Indonesia and form a virtual community. In this study, researchers interested in studying the social interaction of virtual communities on facebook social media. This type of research is qualitative research constructivist paradigm. Method of the approach in this study is a virtual ethnography. Data collection techniques are performed online and offline interviews and observations online at MCI community. Discussion through interviews, while three key respondents of this research is the facebook social media users were active in the MCI and one supporting respondent namely Admin Coordinator. The results showed that there is a motive behind the four Facebook users join and active in the community MCI there are curious motif, entertaining motif, the motif of expression and motif of self-esteem. In addition, varieties of languages are built facebook users in interaction in MCI, researcher has found three points, namely the term greeting, typical expression, and use hashtag. So it can be said that social interaction in a virtual community also has a culture or way of interacting like usual but it is an internet community.
