Abstract

The concept underlying this study is a phenomenon that occurs in education today and in the future that can not be separated from the advances in communications technology and informatics.Traditional learning methods (non e-learning) is now insufficient to meet the needs and improve the student’s achievement motivation to be ready to compete in the corporate world. Therefore, several universities have started to apply the methods of online learning (e-learning). This study aims to determine the relationship of online learning methods (e-learning) and traditional (non e-learning) with students’ achievement motivation at Bunda Mulia University. The data is collected using a questionnaire with Likert scale that is closed and 2 open-ended items. The validity and reliability of the items are tested using Cronbach Alpha. The population in this study is made up of all the students of the Bunda Mulia University from the year 2008-2011 from eleven Study Programs, while the sample is five active students from each year, i.e. 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 in eleven Programs. The total number of samples is 220 students. The data is analyzed using Pearson Correlation and then further analyzed using t-test with the aid of SPSS version 17.0. The results showed a significant correlation between the variables (X1), and (X2) and Y, F = 60.595, R = 0.359, p = 0.000. The hypothesis that there is a relationship between the methods of online learning (e-learning) and traditional learning methods (non e-learning) is correlated positively with the achievement motivation is received. Keywords : methods of online learning (e-learning), traditional (non e-learning), achievement motivation, student

Abstract

Human intelligence is an abstract thing. Intelligence can be measured in many ways, one of which is to use an intelligence test. Intelligenz Structure Test (IST) is a test instrument used in clinical psychology and educational settings to measure one's intelligence capacity. IST was created by Amthauer and has been tested in a variety of research settings. The subjects in the study totaled 71 students consisted of students of 2008 through 2011 are active in the period 2011-2012 semester. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the intelligence capacity of students of “YY” University Psychology is at the level of average intelligence scores (IQ) = 97 (IST scale). The most prominent feature is the ability of catching the essence or meaning or understanding expressed in the language, the language of inductive thinking, the ability to explore the feelings or empathy. Abstract

Women’s body image concerns represent a risk factor for a host of physical and psychological disturbances. Given these harmful outcomes that are associated with body image concerns, it is important to understand the factors that relate to their body image. Here, we consider a factor that has not heretofore been investigated: perception on model’s physical attractiveness as seen in television advertisement. This research was intended to examine the relationship between the perceptions on physical attractiveness of cosmetics and health products advertisement models in television with body image among adolescent girls in Jakarta. Results support calls for early educational interventions to help girls to deconstruct advertising and media images. The discussion focuses on finding and limitations of this research for implication and in the light of theoretical and methodological consideration for further research. Keywords: Perception, Physical attractiveness, Body image, Adolescence, and Girl

Abstract

Starting era of globalization and technology, is an era by setting a particular specification for the human resources that give great influence to the world of education. At some universities, especially educational organizations, people or human resources is an important element, in this case is a lecturer. Competency of lecturers will be increased according to increasing faculty commitment to the profession. Therefore, it is important as an educational institution (college) to be able to create the conditions and climate that can strengthen the commitment of profession. Lecturer professional commitment was measured using a questionnaire based on the characteristics of a profession committed lecturer in the opinion of Meyer and Allen (in Bagraim, 2003), the reliability of 0.811. The population were the University of “XY” lecturer. Subjects in this study were drawn from a total of 48 lecturer with a saturation sampling technique (Sugiyono, 2005). This study aims to know the description of the profession's commitment of University of “XY”. Survey data collection method and analyzed by descriptive analysis techniques. The results showed that the profession's commitment lecturer University of “XY” Jakarta is reflected in a positive affective commitment to the profession.Keywords: description of professional commitment, commitment, lecturer profession

Abstract

Adjustment can be defined as an individual's ability to identify with group expectations. A healthy individual should be able to understand the expectations of the individual place in accordance with these expectations. Students have to make adjustments to the new situations and demands, such as self-study without having to be supervised, be prepared for sudden in-class exams, studying in groups. Disability in adjustment to the demands of the existing situation. This research is a comparative study. The subject was the entire board and members of student organizations and who are not members of student organizations at the University of Bunda Mulia. Collecting data using a questionnaire modified from the questionnaire Bell Adjustment Inventory (1934). Test the validity of the instruments is done by using a test construct validity, the reliability values to 0915. Analysis of research data used non-parametric Mann Whitney test with the result that there was no difference in the correlation between students who are in organization and not in organization. Keyword: self adjusment, student, organizational
